Hi crew! Good to be back! This week will be Golden Dawn Magical Tarot by Sandra Tabatha Cicero and Chic Cicero, the last of my “Golden Dawn Tarot Not Thoth” subcollection. It follows Book T instructions for making one’s own tarot deck. I’m not sure what doc has the instructions for the images of the majors. Could you please tell me if you know? I’m afraid I’ve forgotten more tarot history than I ever knew . . . There are two Temperance cards, one with wings and a rainbow with an arrow for Sagittarius, and one alchemical with white eagle and red lion and a cauldron. I like that it’s very colorful, based on Golden Dawn color scales. And I like the naïve art because it shows devotion to the concepts more than appearances. I also like the old-fashioned (2001 copyright) Llewellyn presentation of the deck in a deck box and the same size booklet in a little shelf slipcase. The booklet has GD spreads including the full Opening of the Key. I’ll probably try to use some Golden Dawn spreads or reading methods this week, but first the interview. What is your most important characteristic? 3 Cups, Abundance, Mercury in Cancer The deck is a faithful manifestation (3) of the emotions (cups) of GD tarot. It has the necessarily abundant number of illustrations. Tarot is communication (mercury) of feelings (cancer). What is your strength? The Princess of Pentacles, Earth If she’s earth, why all the rams’ heads? Booklet just says “Her emblem is a winged ram’s head.” It’s a good physical artifact. I should keep this exact deck in my collection. Your weakness? 6 Wands, Victory, Jupiter in Leo No matter how successful it is as a Golden Dawn deck, it can’t be my favorite because I’ve moved on from GD attributions. It’s about knowing (Jupiter) enough to show off (Leo). What can you teach me? The Prince of Swords, Air His chariot is drawn by fairies. The deck can teach me all about the rationale behind the attributions. It can teach me how to learn about things I don’t agree with. How can I learn it? 8 Cups, Abandoned Success, Saturn in Pisces I should let go of my preferences (cups) and concentrate on the information (8). But there will be limitations (Saturn) to how much feeling I can avoid (Pisces). What will be the outcome of our work together? 2 Swords, Peace Restored, Moon in Libra We’ll agree to disagree on intellectual grounds. It’s all made up anyway (moon), so, with enough intellectual backing, all attributions are equal (Libra). Well, that was fun! It feels like an actual conversation with the cards.

I still use a version of 'face down, smear 'em all around' technique to get random reversals. Obviously you need a very clean, non-scratchy surface to spread the cards out. It also helps to shuffle the cards beforehand ...riffle, overhand, whatever. I do find that if I 'pick' cards to reverse, I end up overthinking it. "Oh, I need one from the other end of the pile; I need a couple from the middle," etc. That doesn't feel as random as I'd like. So I just do the face down and smear technique, while pulling cards from the bottom, putting cards to the bottom, and randomising everything till I've got it 'done.' I don't mean to suggest this is the only way to do it, but it's what I've always done. I only rarely read without reversals, so this is more or less an everyday action for me. I had to laugh, remembering this is exactly how I used to shuffle playing cards when I was young, before I mastered the 'riffle shuffle.' I'd spread the cards out across the card table (we had one!) and just smeared them to my heart's content.

Thank you for taking the time to explain! It makes sense. Now that I think about it, I actually remember myself doing a past-present-future grand tableau for a friend and the Mountain showed up in their past line. There were some holiday plans going on but because of someone else in their life getting fixated on some small details (regarding the hotel they were to stay in), they had to go back and change things again and again, which put them behind their initial plan for another few weeks. Negative cards were also directly ahead of that person’s card. I suppose if the situation went on differently, then the Mountain could have been read as them getting “past” their issues. Exactly this. That’s why I love the cards. 😊

So glad we got to the bottom of the posts order 😃 About the Follow button, do you have it in one browser or several? No one else has reported this issue to us and people must follow threads everyday. It works as it should for all the forum staff. I did a deep dive reading up on this on the Invision Community forum and some people have problems with the Follow button and clearing the cache / temp files solves it. It uses JavaScript to make it work and if the stored cache of the page corrupts, it can screw it up. It might be worth clearing history / temp files and see if it then works as it should.

If the upright 6 of Cups appears to describe a couple who have known each other for a long time, or are connected by a shared past, that meaning should be fairly obvious. However, if it appears for a couple who have only just met and have no known 'past' connection, the card may well indicate a high level of trust between the two. The kind of trust we had as children, when interacting with people we knew well. Reversed—the card can mean misplaced trust? Or being overly trusting of strangers? I would be wary of a reversed 6 of Cups, when applying it to a relationship, unless the rest of the spread indicates some other factor is in play.

Mister replied to Moon-Hermit's topic in Lenormand Card Studies
Hi again, @Moon-Hermit The answers now may come across a bit hair-splitty, that's not due to me wanting to enforce anything, it's just the Lenormands - the more you go into detail, the harder it gets to talk about in a roundabout way. Here we go: It is not beneficial - it is kind of beneficial. When the mountains turn up, the situation described is challenging, it takes that flavour to the read no matter where. When to the far left of a line, it can point towards having past over the worst part of it. It is a barrier, in a sense. So long as the one you read for does not want to go back and change the situation and instead is ready to move on, it makes it unlikely that the other side takes action to interfere with that, which is kind of beneficial - the querent/client/seeker can focus on how to proceed without worries. However, that's it. If the q/c/s is hell-bent on changing the situation instead of walking away from it, it is mountaineering-time again. Somehow, the quote-function stopped to work for me right now, so the below had to be cited old-school: "I think whatever you decide on (about choosing directions in different decks) the universe or whatever is out there responds accordingly, as long as you remain consistent. I had a similar experience with the Whip and Ring. I used to read the former as repetition at first, but then switched to the latter later. Where the Whip used to come up for me as repetition, it’s now the Ring. Everything syncs with the other stuff as long as we are not confused ourselves, I suppose." That's where I tend to say "The cards do conform to their user to a degree". What I found to be important is that it has to make sense to the user. The cards (by virtue of our graceful universe) conform most to the things which make it easier for the user to grasp a wider scope of information. There's two parts to consider: Personal affinity as well as open-mindedness. It does stay a learning experience, where we make it easier and easier to deal with more and more information, in the range of human limitedness. The universe itself in its wholeness definitely is a notch above what our brains can handle, but we're getting there. Slowly, and step by step. Steady makes the race, wasn't it?

I've tried in several browsers, including the one with NO security settings, which I save for times like this. And the multiquote has sorted itself without my making any changes. But it would be good if it were chronological.

When you know - you know. Imo. There is one person with whom I was absolutely certain I had past life links. I met her one evening at a pyjama party at University in my 1st year. We were standing in line to get into the party and struck up a conversation. She was from Guadalupe, France. Our meeting was like when old friends who haven't seen each other for years, pick up where they left off as if nothing has happened. If you catch my drift. And we were fast and comfortable friends onwards, until the day she went back to Guadalupe and I never heard from her again. Maybe - this is also why I so like Our Lady of Guadelupe.

This section has a "special status" as it's public for people who get locked out and it might need adjusting to make it chronological again. We will look into it. About the Follow button and opening in a new tab, this is almost certainly your browser settings. I saw in another thread you couldn't multi quote posts. You need to tone down some of the security settings in your browser for the forum, things like multi quote and thread buttons don't work with the highest security settings in browsers. You have to allow some of them and then it works fine. You can test this out by browsing in Incognito Mode / Private Browsing. If it works fine, it's security add ons / settings. Too high security seems to block cross thread things, which is why opening in a new tab makes Follow work.
