I have two art projects I need to work on. They are entries for art contests and I often wait til the last possible day to start work on an entry before the submission deadline. It's not just because I've had limited time to work on them due to my efforts to schedule things to do or events to attend in order to meet people and socialize. It's also because I am such a procrastinator! Well, now I have all the time in the world to work on them since I fractured my ankle two days ago and am going nowhere for a while! Hopefully I'll make the most of staying home with my foot in a walking cast. I could probably go out with it on - after all, that's what it is meant for - but I will wait until I feel more secure about that. In the meantime, I will make art while my ankle heals!

Fantastic and super deep insight I will definitely will need to think about .Experiences definitely matter ,because that`s the way LL sees the world through us ,but there aren`t any good or bad ones in my world view ,they are just little games we are playing .And that`s the biggest issue with continue reading tarot .Hope that makes a litlle bit of sense

Sometimes I feel that we can be so reductive about ourselves and our experiences when we begin to think about the macro, grander scale of all that is... Yes, everything is a wildly complex tapestry of an incomprehensible scale that can make us feel inconsequential, but it would be nothing without each individual thread that makes it what it is. We can have the belief that we fit into an overall pattern that ultimately leads to, I don't know, greater harmony? Grace? Wisdom? But the point is, the pattern wouldn't be formed without us as individuals. Therefore, our experiences, of all shades, are important. We are after all existing as humans right now, living a human life. Couldn't that mean there's a possibility that each experience does indeed inherently matter? So in terms of the tarot, here we have a tool that we've made (one of many) that allows us a framework of understanding and insight into our experiences. If we acknowledge the importance of our unique lives, it can aid us with seeing how the pattern might be forming around us and how we fit as part of it, in whichever way sits comfortably within our individual beliefs and outlooks. We can enter into a dialogue about the whys, the whats and the hows in order to consider more deeply and learn from what's happening both within us and without us, maybe then allowing us a degree of understanding of the current that we're all riding in. And maybe, if we can access that greater understanding, who's to say that wouldn't give us the opportunity to shift our path in the current going forward? As a consequence, if more of us could make our journey downstream collectively more coherent, what could that mean for the tapestry? Anyway, this may not answer your concern @Troll and it's likely stuff that you've already thought about, but I felt I wanted to write down the thoughts rattling around in my head π

Hi Leila, I am sorry you have had problems joining us π Our site owner @Little Fang tried recreating it but wasn't able to encounter the same problem. We will keep testing it. Let us know if you are trying to sign up with a desktop browser or on a device? and any other details you want to share. It's possible security plug ins in a browser or tracking protection could be blocking the security check at that point in the sign-up. Try on your preferred browser, going into incognito mode or private browsing. This stops plug ins and add ons and we can see if it lets you past that point. Let us know how it goes and if you manage to get in, keep us updated. We will get you in here π₯°

To answer your question -of course not . Because believing something strongly does not mean living it . Reading philosophy would be nice ,but because I tried studying that in uni I really don`t want to go back there . But because of that I know core concepts and basics

There are quite a few members here, myself included, who read tarot in a secular way. Just keep exploring and reading the various discussions here.

Deck of the Week Sign-up Thread, Week 468: Jun. 22 - Jun. 28
BrightEye replied to fire cat pickles's topic in Deck of the Week
Thank you @fire cat pickles A couple of days ago I was working on a short essay, experimenting with new ideas and concepts. At the end of that day I asked what I needed to know about my dayβs work and drew these cards (in sequence from left to right, no positions. My initial reading was that I will need to step back from the work to avoid overworking before taking it up again to fine-tune it. Yesterday, I decided to return to making revisions to the larger book project that I also have on the go at the moment, and to get ahead of myself a little, Iβm going to continue work on this bigger project. The cards speak to this too: my attention was called back to this project and the unfinished essay has to wait while I prioritise my commitment to the book. I noticed how the figure in the minors face in different directions, the 8oP most notably to the future, indicating where my commitment should lie. -

Is that your experience? Everything is light and love? Is it really your core belief? Or are you cushioned from suffering such that you do not experience any suffering - do others suffer and not tell you of their suffering so as not to burden you? Do you have desire for anything? Can you give everything away? Can you live without your loved ones happily - do you fear their death? Has everyone always been kind to you and never hurt you physically or emotionally? Are you afraid of death? Have you never been angry or sad about your disability? Have you loved and lost? Been poor? Lived on the streets in the cold? Not had enough to eat? Do you react the same to everything? Do you feel nothing, think nothing? Read up on Buddhism's 4 noble truths. I think reading philosophy of different sorts would be good for you. You will come across "It is neither here nor there" which is an approach or the reaction you speak of. But I am not sure if many of us have mastered that. It is a constant awareness that can be difficult in the world of distractions and illusions.

This was the deck if it triggers any memories. The cards looked better than the graphics of it on the site.... https://www.tarotbyseven.com/product-page/2017-samhain-treat-deck It was readable and I did several Samhain readings with it for AT members over the years with it, but it had no booklet or meanings. You just had to use your intuition π

We can't interpret personal readings in this area. You would need to interpret it and post it here - Personal Tarot Readings if you want a personal interpretation of it. We can discuss the Death card as if an event would happen again generally with ideas here.

Thank you, @Rose Lalonde for posting about the School of the Heart! I just backed it. Regular early bird price is still available. I was falling asleep last night and thought "Do I really want a 200-card deck? Of course!" That clinched it! -

Letβs Borrow the Magicianβs Tools to Do Some Magic
Cariabella posted a blog entry in Tarot for self-development and shadow work
The Magician teaches us to do actual magicβspecifically, how to sharpen our manifestation skills by unlocking the subconscious. If you look at the Magicianβs table, he has four tools. I like to map these directly to Carl Jungβs four psychological functions, which align beautifully with the tarot suits: Sensation (Pentacles): Gathering raw data through our physical senses (what we can see, touch, hear, taste, and smell). Intuition (Wands): Perceiving cosmic insights, gut feelings, and potential futures without needing logical proof. Thinking (Swords): Analyzing, organizing, and structurally categorizing that information. Feeling (Cups): Assigning personal, ethical, or subjective value to thingsβdeciding what they are actually worth to you. Putting the Tools to Work: A 3-Step Ritual Here is how we can intentionally lay these elements out on our own "table" during a practice: Sensation (Pentacles): Prep your space! Light incense, put on music, or chant to get your physical senses fully engaged. Thinking & Feeling (Swords & Cups): Hold your goal in mind while acknowledging that you currently lack it. Blending thought and emotion is the secret sauce of energy transmutationβthe ultimate magical technique. Intuition (Wands): Shift your thinking to a state of absolute completion, acting as if the goal is already yours. The Secret Backdoor to the Subconscious Jung noticed that most of us lean heavily on one dominant function, use two as sidekicks, and leave one completely in the dark. This weakest one is known as your Inferior Function. Because it sits squarely in your blind spot, it is deeply embedded in your unconscious. That means your weakest function is actually your personal backdoor to the subconscious mind. Integrating it is the real key to unlocking authentic magic. Easy Daily Exercises to Strengthen Your Functions You don't need a fancy altar to practice this; you can do it on the fly! Alchemize Everyday Stress: Got yelled at by your boss? Don't waste that energy! Sit in your car or a quiet corner and use that frustration to fuel a completely different manifestation (like a new car). To anchor yourself, engage your senses internally: visualize a peaceful river, hear the birds, or replay the taste and smell of your morning coffee. The Senses Check-In: While walking or working, take a moment to notice everything you can physically see, hear, feel, taste, and smell. Then, close your eyes and recreate those exact sensations internally in your mind's eye. How do you see these four functions playing out on your own Magicianβs table? Which suit or Jungian function do you think is your "inferior function" or blind spot when trying to pull things down from the astral into the physical? -
alethian started following Death card in the first position

Asking question, will this event ever happen again, the first card was Death card, and then next cards were some positive cards such as Hierophant, Hermit, and some court cards. What could it mean or imply when Death card appears as the first card in the reading? Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks.
-
I believe it was the Samhain Treats; I had forgotten the name. Thank you. I'll have to look for it again.

I believe that there is dark and lightβbut also 'meh' and 'whatever.' If you read your own cards every day (outwith some major event you are dealing with) the cardsβwhile dramatic in designβwill simply reflect upon everyday issues. Not always a big deal. For example, this morning, in my 5-card daily reading, I received The World upright in the position of what is occupying my mind. This World doesn't represent world peace or any major turning point in my life. For me it represented (finally) getting our phone extensions fixed! It's been a while coming, and it finally did happen today. So that phase is complete, and I can move on. But it hardly shatters the earth, nor would I describe it as 'light or dark.' My project this year is de-catastrophizing my readings. I think this is pretty crucial if you want to work with cards frequently, and you aren't always reading for other people who might actually have pivotal issues ongoing.

You are spot on here .And that`s my issue . How can I read with interest when everything is ,illusion video game ,not important in global sense . I can hurt someone by saying these things or make them worse .And reading for myself if every situation even "super bad" tragedy" ones or just unimportant because they all are leading to LL and are LL in their own right

Does anyone know if Andy Boroveshengra currently has a blog or website?

Hi friend, youβve been missed! -
Well, we all have our own spiritual beliefs but for me, I don't believe everything is Love and Light, there is also darkness and hatred. When reading the tarot, it has to reflect dark things, bad times and give us advice to handle it. There are some decks (like Angel Decks) which are only positive and I am not convinced that reflects real life. I need the difficult cards or my readings would be wildly unbalanced. We all have dark sides of us and difficult things happen in our lives, the tarot has to reflect those things π .

We aren't on any sort of schedule here @BrightEye π Welcome to the group! The DOTW Group is a fun and enlightening way to share how your decks can work for others, to highlight new or unique reading techniques and spreads, and perhaps to introduce new decks for other members. - Last week

Welcome back to the place @timtoldrum Glad you found us again π

Do you think it was this oracle? https://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/halloween-oracle/ I don't know the extra deck I am afraid π Seven Stars with her custom deck printing and Deck of the Bastard Tarot and annual edition of her Samhain Lenormand had a deck of extra cards. She called them Samhain Treats. They were really public domain Halloween postcards from the Victorian Era. I have read with them as an oracle and it went well but they weren't designed as a commercial oracle originally. Some of them are very weird images π . I wonder if this is something like that.

I'm sorry to hear the reason for your absence but hope that you are well now. I took your course in 2015 that you generously offered for free with a suggested donation to an organization. It still informs any reading I do with Lenormand. Glad to see you here.
