Hello All ! I hope other passionate Lenormand System Reader’s are as excited as I am. Andy Boroveshengra announced today he has a second book in the works. It seems very much a book to take us all to a higher level of understanding of this amazing System. I have two faves: The Hermit and the Star. The Hermit because I strongly identify with it. 😌 The Star because, in most decks, it's a very pretty card. 😳

It is now in the US also and from what I can tell very recent. Thank you for your inputs.

Temperance! This card is so important to me. I see myself in the Empress, and the Star is an aspirational card for me. I also love the Death card. In the minors, I really like the Nine of Pentacles and Four of Wands. If I had to pick only one? Temperance.

No.1 ~ is The Priestess, because I find her peaceful & meditative, & aspire to be one. Then 2 ~ I love the hope of The Star - & the reminder of Nut, the Sky Goddess of anciet Egypt who holds back chaos from the earth..., (I'll just add that right now we could reallly do with more of that 🤪) And this also: Q:"And where shall we find religion?" A:"Beneath the open sky. The crystal sphere of silence is surcharged with Deity. The midnight earth, sends incense up - sweet with the breath of prayer... Go out beneath the naked night - & get religion there!". ~ Sam Walter Foss. No.3 ~ I feel a comraderie with The Devil who always nudges me to lighten up. Last, but not least, 4 ~ The Queen of Swords - who's boldness I wish I inherently had.

I read with reversals when I feel like it 🙃. ...now - presently I haven't access to my Tarot files & neither can I access my memory because I'm on holiday & everything is a bit fluffy 🫠 - so hopefully someone will chime in here & be clearer... There is a contraction of some of the ways that you can read reversals.... is it W.I.N.D...? I is Inverted (the upside-down or opposite meaning), N is Negated (i.e. No it's not happening or present) D is Delayed...(the meaning is delayed in real time)... I can't remember the rest 🤣 & I'm going back to my holiday brain now.

I love the artwork on devil cards and I relate to temperance as a lifestyle.

I don't read reversals. Not because I think they are difficult or make the reading confusing, but because I don't think reading reversals is necessary if I am careful about what each position in a spread stands for. We've had lots of discussions about this topic here. Have you done a search? I use reversals probably about 95% of the time, although it does depend a bit on the deck I'm using. (Some decks just don't seem to lend themselves to reversals, for some reason.) However, I usually read reversals as either 'the quality of the upright card is reversed' or 'the quality of the upright card is missing—but the missing is an important factor in the reading.' I never read reversals as an intensification or diminishment of the original meaning. That really muddies the water for me. I think some people are reluctant to try using reversals because they believe that means they must learn another 78 meanings! However, once you learn the original 78 meanings, all you need to do is decide what the opposite of those meanings are, when reversals come up. Or how the reading is affected if the quality of the upright card is missing. Simple example: 3 of cups upright: I'm going to enjoy it (have fun) when I meet up with friends this week 3 of cups reversed: I am not going to enjoy it (no fun at all) when I meet up with friends this week. (reversed) or 3 of cups reversed: I was expecting to meet up with friends, but it's not going to happen this week (missing) Cards usually contain more than one potential upright meaning, and the above is just a very simple example. But the principle behind the reversals is the same, whatever meaning seems to matter. Reversals mean you don't have to guess whether a card's main meaning or its shadow meaning is in play. I feel it's a much more straightforward way to read cards, as it eliminates some of the guesswork—especially if you are reading for somebody you don't know. If you're psychic, you probably don't need reversals ...but I certainly am not! Mind you, if you're psychic you probably don't need cards at all. 😀

Yes. If I have a querent, I will absolutely try to pinpoint the question before reading - & I prefer using spreads - so at that point I might modify a spread I know or make one up. When reading for myself - it all depends on my mood, what the question is, & who I'm asking.

For me, it depends on whether I'm just practicing reading tarot, or whether I have a situation that needs addressing. I find that the clearer the question—AND the spread itself—nearly always produces a helpful result. I don't ask a question, then throw out a bunch of cards in a random way. This doesn't produce a clear result for me. Instead, I create a spread BEFOREHAND, set up to address the separate aspects of the situation I want to address.

I completely agree. I think refining the question without trying to force a particular answer can make a reading much more useful. I especially like your point about personal choice and responsibility. 🔮

Ain't that the absolute truth. I totally agree with you that it's probably trying to signal authenticity and communicate "I'm not like the other love and light girls..." And to be honest, looking at the "brutal reading" Etsy readings, I imagine some of the readings themselves to be just as riddled with AI ☠️

Oh it's absolutely about the question for me. And the refining of question, to narrow down exactly what you're trying to understand, without trying to predujice the answer. involve a thrid party, ask "yes or no", but have clarity, and personal choice and responsibility. Oh, I realize that al sounds a bit heavy and serious LOL but that's how I use taort mostly.

I have had Swords cards, particularly the Ace of Swords come up almost always whenever i am visiting a dentist!

I’ve always found reversed cards interesting because they can completely change the tone of a reading. Sometimes I see them as blocked or delayed energy, while other times I feel the upright meaning is still present but expressed differently. How do you personally work with reversed cards?
