I still have two episodes left. I actually rather wish they were only an hour long.... but they are good. I might seek out the books. I like the Hand and Billy.... !

WELL! I have one episode left. I rather like the way Cooper's mother reads Tarot 🙃. And I did go - "Oh! is that a meaning for The Hermit?", then scrambled off to look in Mary K Greer's "Tarot Reversals" (which is my go-to text for card meanings) and discovered it is indeed. I like the way creepy mystical things are lightly suggested in this series too. Quite entertaining.

The whole deck could be servitors - no? I'm not a Chaos magician (and not intelligent enough to be one - lol). But I know a few and have done some workshops.

That does read exactly like a good tarot spread. Thanks for posting, (especially since Hellenistic is my jam.)

Dear investigators, I just listened to the latest talk by Adam Elenbaas, a Hellenistic Astrologer on YT: The Secret Wisdom of Jupiter’s Opposition to Pluto. At the end he suggested three questions we could ask ourselves in order to work with the dynamic represented by this aspect. I immediately thought of turning these questions into a tarot spread. Maybe you'll find this idea interesting too. The opposition will be exact on 20 July. What deeper purpose and meaning that I haven't been able to see is revealing itself? What part of me is asked to mature so that a vision can be fulfilled? What must I give up or surrender to be what I'm meant to be? Wishing you good insights!

Honestly - no, I do not use this one any more at all. For my tastes -as they are at the moment - the images are too similar to other decks I have. And - knowing what I know, I could not get rid of the "after taste"

@Tanga Since you're into Chaos Magic, you know that the Major Arcana are actually servitors! They can help you with almost every area of your life

I am so sorry to hear about your mother 🤍 On a lighter note, thanks for the tip! I wasn't aware that there was a new version. But anyway, the old version that's already on its way to me in the mail is unopened, so I will keep it unopened. I'm getting more and more into OOP decks. I guess I'm starting to become a small collector. I actually started picking out decks a few months ago to downsize due to lack of space. But it felt painful, so I ended up buying more cabinet space instead which I managed to squeeze in. So these decks were kept and with more storage space I am now in the midst of a proper deck buying spree 😆

I ordered a copy of the Black Queer Tarot. It’ll be here in a few days. I was wondering if there was a pdf guidebook going off one youtuber’s confusion about that but there isn’t. I was thinking of trying to contact the artist but they don’t seem to be as active online these days. But maybe I’ll try. I’ve been curious about the Terra Volatile for a while now. Also lately the Tarot of Mystical Moments. But this deck purchase was kinda impulsive and I’m wanting to focus on the decks I have. I just saw there were only four copies left in this etsy shop and it’s oop everywhere else so I jumped on it. Plus I found out by contacting the creator that the Shrine of the Black Medusa deck is retired. So I thought I’d jump on this other queer black collaged deck while I had the chance. Not usually a big fan of most photo collage decks but I think it’ll be ok. (thinking it’d be cool to have a deck showing real black queer bodies to reflect back on me) Edit: photo I found online

@KaiNO if it's not to late to hopefully save a little money, the Tarot of the Origins has been reprinted recently as the Primordial Tarot. It was one of my first two decks (the other was majors only) and it's its own system, so for a long time, I just read intuitively with that deck. It can be brutal, but I was looking for something that counts death as a daily part of life right after my mother died. I also just go the Sawyer redux for a RWS with astrology on the cards, even though it's not in your face about it. I'd be interested to see how you go reading with the Deleted World. I like it, but reading has been a bit more difficult than with some of my go to decks. Maybe that's an unfair comparison to make since this one is brand new to me. 😅

Thank you @timtoldrum I'll pay attention to how I formulate next time and how significators are chosen. The bit about the Lord or the Lady representing a larger body of people had never crossed my mind and I should go back to those draws where the Lord kept cropping up !
  17. Marina
That's how I do it too, especially in decks that I can't riffle either due to size or cardstock. Sometimes I'll take the deck and put all cards upright, and then shuffle it again to get reversals. Not before every reading, or course, but when I feel that… the deck needs it? I feel like this 'resets' the deck somehow. Not sure if it makes any sense though
  18. Marina
Yes please, let me know! I'm super curious about this deck but I'm trying to avoid impulsive purchases, so a trusted recommendation would be very helpful! 🙏

Hi everyone! A question for those of you who use playing cards, regardless of the method or system that you use: do you consider the people/court cards to represent only individuals? Or have they, in your experience, also represented situations? I ask this because recently I did a reading involving the K♦️ and the J♦️, and I couldn’t really recognise them as people in the events that followed. However, there were situations involving money that could have been represented by them… news about unexpected money (which made me think about the J♦️) and then help from a man through the donation a larger sum (making me think of the K♦️). The K♦️, of course, could represent the man who helped, but the J♦️ never really connected to any individual. Does this make any sense? Thanks!

Today I received this package of Terra Volatile. There hasn't been written much about this deck here on the forum, but it seems to have a huge following worldwide, and seems interesting. Deck: Terra Volatile Deck: The Rider Tarot Deck, 1909 RWS Tarot - The Sawyer Redux Edition, and Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot Deck This Thoth deck is a second-hand deck. Box missing, otherwise good condition. Based on the printer's key and ISBN, this is the 3rd printing of this specific edition revision, published March 1, 1991, which is consistent with the seller's statement that the deck was purchased in San Francisco in the late 1990s. Decks ordered: - Alchemical Tarot Reimagined - Deleted World Tarot - The Golden Dawn Tarot - The Marigold Tarot - The Tarot of the Origins (OOP) - Tarot of the Sevenfold Mystery - Tarot of the Sweet Twilight - The Magical Tarot of the Golden Dawn - The Whisper of Stars and Garden Tarot Comments about some of these decks: The Deleted World Tarot: I didn't know about this deck, but suddenly I see it everywhere in the "Deck to Check" areas here at TT&M. So thanks for your contribution there, @Rose Lalonde. Eventually I couldn't resist ordering, this deck was to good to be forgotten, although shipping and import costs to my country cost more than the deck itself 😅😭 As for The Whisper of Stars and Garden Tarot, I have no idea why I ordered this one. The style is quite far from what I like, but I probably saw a YT video and was fascinated for a moment, probably mostly because there are very few decks left. But sometimes it's a bit nice to try to expand your own horizons I think. Tarot of the Sweet Twilight is a bit of a guilty pleasure. Actually far from what I like, but still there is something fascinating about this deck. So I ordered it while it is still available.

I agree. As a general rule, the Lord and Lady will represent a man and a woman respectively. There are, however, circumstances in which the cards are not signifying a particular man or woman but a wider body of people. For example, if a woman enquires about the outcome of a job interview, the Lord might represent the interview panel itself. Such a panel could be composed of both men and women, yet be treated as a single entity within the reading. In my experience, this tends to occur when the card is representing people collectively rather than a single individual. The card retains its role as a principal significator, but instead of identifying one distinct person it comes to symbolise a group, institution, authority or decision-making body.

There was recently a video by Donna Leigh on that subject. She mentions another aspect regarding the person cards (”a different influence independent of gender”). Just because we're at it.
