Tarot Learning App
MysticalTarotSaints posted a topic in Promote YourselfHi everyone - I’ve just launched a new way to learn and explore Tarot — and I’d love to share it with the Tarot community. After years of working with Tarot, I’ve created a new Tarot Learning App designed to help you deepen your understanding of the cards, practice readings, and develop your own intuitive relationship with the Tarot. Whether you’re just starting out or have been reading for years, the app gives you a place to learn, practice, and explore Tarot at your own pace. I’ve opened up a free trial so you can try it for yourself and see what you think. Try the Tarot Learning App: https://studio.com/nathe/readtarot?c=c6a7iRMF I’d genuinely love feedback from the Tarot community — especially from experienced readers. What would you want in the ultimate Tarot learning app? What would make you use it regularly? Thanks, and happy reading! 🃏✨ -

Deck of the Week Sign-up Thread, Week 479: Sep. 7 - Sep. 13
DanielJUK replied to fire cat pickles's topic in Deck of the WeekHugs @fire cat pickles , you are very kind to that family and also I am glad you were checked out and all was okay ultimately. I think staying grounded through whatever storms come into our lives, is such a life skill. It's so helpful and an excellent emotional coping strategy. I am sorry you had such a difficult time with all the things that went on and good thoughts with you -

BrightEye replied to DanielJUK's topic in Tarot DecksI have some more information now: it’s a licensed reprint by Peter Pauper Press of the red box version of the HR. If it’s still there next time, it’s mine. I have conveniently forgotten the name of the shop. -

Poll: Use Established or Your Own Speads?
Marina replied to Croat's topic in Tarot SpreadsI tend to use the same spreads over and over, although I'll sometimes adapt parts of them if I feel I have to, in order to better answer my question. It may sound weird, but I think learning to work with a spread is just as important as learning to work with a deck... As you get more comfortabl with a spread, you start to get subtle impressions about the reading that go beyon card meaning... like when a certain card or element pops up in a certain position, or when a certain pattern keeps repeating... things like that. In my 'normal' tarot routine, I have my few favourte spreads and will usually resort to them. I do, however, enjoy trying new and different spreads in reading circles and exchanges, as a fun exercise. -

BrightEye replied to DanielJUK's topic in Tarot DecksI regret not buying it now. Next time I’m in the city is Monday. It does have the red box with the To All Believers card. -

gregory replied to DanielJUK's topic in Tarot DecksThat's a pretty set. IIRC my original HR is in a box like that, but without any kind of kit. I can't look for 10 days or so. It certainly didn't come in the green-edged box that shows up everywhere these days. But if you look: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1691042693/hanson-roberts-tarot-deck-first-edition? -

BrightEye replied to DanielJUK's topic in Tarot DecksI came across this box set today in Dublin. It’s the red box of the Hanson-Robert’s. Has anyone seen this elsewhere? Is it the original red box? -

Deck of the Week Sign-up Thread, Week 479: Sep. 7 - Sep. 13
fire cat pickles replied to fire cat pickles's topic in Deck of the WeekSo, most of you know I usually post in one of my journals, but it has been so long since I posted a reading I thought I would share in our thread this time! An update: I have had several health scares the last few months. All of them have turned out to be nothing! After been poked, prodded, scanned and examined I have been officially found fit as a fiddle. Additionally, I have decided to rent out my house and move in with my mother after my stepfather passed away in June. This is not for financial reasons. My best friend and his family of 4 (5 next week!) were going to get evicted and needed a place to stay and we (my mother and I) felt it best that they rent from me. Also, my mother cannot take care of this (large) house by herself after her husband is now gone. (I know, a lot to process but now you know why I have been absent for a while!) This was the cliffnotes version ;) Onto my reading. Turning over a new leaf. what can I expect this upcoming week as I regroup, recommit and refocus. I got Page of Wands (tarot de le rea) Staying grounded (note the earth symbol he provides) as I start out fresh. Pages are the sentinels of new beginnings, after all. At times I will feel overwhelmed but I just need to keep my eyes on what my goals are. I often see the Page of Wands as the perpetual student. I need to approach my next project from this viewpoint. Get out paper and pencil, write it all down, rinse and repeat, get it in my muscle memory. If I have it memorized both physically and mentally I can't go wrong. I can't guide those I am taking on a journey unless I can first take myself there. What's the saying, "you can't transmit what you yourself haven't got?" something like that. There is something of a Hermit-like quality to this Page of Wands. S/he is almost like a baby-Hermit. This reminds me to take time for myself as well. -

Crow replied to witchcraft's topic in IntroductionsWelcome, fellow newbie here. I already replied to you on another thread you created, but I like what you said here, too: Religious baggage, yep, I've got some of that as well!Crow started following Hello there.- Hello!
Crow replied to Nyx's topic in IntroductionsWelcome, I'm also new. "Long time collector and amateur reader," yep, that would describe me also. I hope we can learn together!- It's kinda overwhelming getting started
Crow replied to witchcraft's topic in Tarot Talk & TechniqueI see that this thread is already several months old so I'm unsure if anyone will see my response, but maybe that's for the best since I'm also brand new to this forum. Having said that, your post resonates with me even though I've owned tarot decks for several years and recently began acquiring more. As others have said, I don't believe there's a right way or a wrong way, the most important thing is what feels best to you. Personally, I don't enjoy having to refer back to a booklet to interpret the feelings I get when looking at a particular card -- and that describes how I've been using my deck(s), primarily drawing one random card and meditating on it. Sometimes I'll also do what is NOT quite so random, I'll quickly thumb through the cards until one "hits me." It's difficult to describe that feeling, but certain images have knocked my socks off (as I like to say), and once a particular card has that effect, I'll try to examine it more closely to figure out why. And interestingly, once I come across a card like that, it never changes. In other words, if it knocks my socks off one time, it will knock my socks off every time I come across it. I haven't progressed very far with spreads. I've done three card spreads -- past, present, future -- but honestly, that hasn't resonated with me as much as with single cards. I'm also having big problems with how to ask questions, and I cringe when the uninitiated suppose I use them for "fortune telling," which I certainly do not -- though I hasten to add that this is not criticism of those who do. But yes, I would like to be better at using them to unlock my feelings about issues like aging and death, for example, but am unsure how to go about it. Since I'm responding to someone's initial query here, I think your questions and/or misgivings are not at all unusual for someone new to tarot. It can be daunting, especially in a world that seems predisposed to slap you down for practices that a lot of people see as a bit weird, at best. That is why it's good that you've found a community here where you can air it out with confidence that your questions will be seen by sympathetic people who have probably been there and done that!- Hello
