Hello! My name's Gale (he/they). I live in Ireland and have had a meandering journey to tarot. When I was 11, my best friend gave me a deck that her sister had given her, but she'd never used. I was obsessed with the art, but didn't do many readings until another friend taught me when I was 16. I was semi-consisent from ages 16-18 and then stopped until last year, when a friend gave me their Wild Unknown deck. I've been pulling a nightly card since then, as well as longer readings when I have the time or need. I'm enjoying interpreting the art and both learning and feeling the cards' meanings, as well as reading for friends!

Greetings! I’m thrilled to find a stand-alone forum that’s not part of a social media platform. I’ve been working with the Tarot since the early 1990s and have decades of experience as a professional reader and teacher, but these days, I mostly read for myself and a few close friends. I meditate on one or more cards every day and (very selectively) continue to add to my deck collection because it’s important to me to know all my decks. The Tarot is an inexhaustible subject, and I enjoy connecting with others who are also exploring the cards.

I’m back! I joined the site in 2020 or 2021 and mainly lurked. I’ve come back but I felt like I should reintroduce myself. When it comes to tarot I’m not much past buying (too many) decks and (too many) books. But I want to get serious about it now…even if I only plan to use it for myself.

My first book on tarot was Gail Fairfield's Choice Centered Tarot along with a few others and some books on numerology. Hello, and nice to meet you all! I have used Tarot for a number of years already, but I only now have started to seriously study it. I have a number of books as my starting point. I am interested in the qabalistic background for the tarot. I also have a rather exotic deck in the RWS tradition. I used to own a RWS deck but I left it at my mom's house. Hi everyone! 🙂 It's great to find such a broad and deep Tarot community here! It was 1979 when I got my first deck (the Swiss 1JJ that used to absolutely everywhere back then), and though I've bought many more since then, I'm still trying to improve my knowledge and fluency with the cards. I'm interested in Tarot history and esoteric decks.

Like many of you all, I have always felt a draw towards the esoteric. Unfortunately, I let fear hold me back: Fear from low self worth, and fear from what most people believe to be Christianity. Finally, I decided to push into complete submersion into the waters of the occult. I have been consistent studying tarot since this year's January, but i feel the only way to really get into it is to have a hands on experience. I also avoid Thoth inspired and Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (Free Mason's and Aleister Crowley). I do have a runic tarot deck that I like. Also, the Illuminated Tarot by Caitlin Keegan. I also like my.Dragon Oracle cards by Dana Cooper. The others are headed to the yardsale pile What else is left? Any suggestions for original decks that are not derived or inspired by the above?
