For readers who use reversals - how do you interpret a spread where all or a significant majority of the cards drawn are reversed? This is not highly statistically improbable so this sometimes happen to me. For 3-card spreads there is a 1 in 8 chance of this happening while for 5 cards it's 1 in 32. So yeah, how would you personally read this?

Ok, firstly to clarify what I mean by beginner decks: Exhibit A: The Simple Tarot, Beginner Version Exhibit B: The Apprentice Tarot Decks that have keywords on the cards, more or less, enough that they make interpreting the card without prior learning viable, or make recall of the card's fuller meaning easier. So, my question is basically, what do people think of the idea of using these kinds of decks in a professional context? Both from the perspective of reader, and from the perspective of potential client. Incoming thought prompts, don't feel compelled to answer them all. Are these decks off-putting? Do they imply that a reader is new or unable to read the…

Hi! A little poll (now that I learned how to do that!) 🙂 Honestly I didn't riffle my cards so far, I was used to just shuffle them and to cut, that's all. But since I also need to have reversed cards for the few decks that I use I found that to riffle my cards could be a solution! Therefore lately I began to riffle them, then I shuffle and cut them (generally in 3 paquets). You know everything. This could evolve of course! To riffle the cards is something pleasant to do!

I hope that I'm putting this in the correct place. I just finished a big reading and I've noticed that while I'm doing my readings I get SO hot. I have to turn on the air conditioner and then when I'm done my body cools down. Sometimes my hand will also move to pick up specific cards while I'm doing my readings. I'm wondering if anyone else experiences certain sensations while reading tarot? I once saw another lady say she also gets hot while she's reading tarot but I feel like there are probably countless other cool things that could happen while you're working in all that psychic energy. I'm interested in learning about all of it! So, feel free t…

Just out of interest, because I like to see how others do things... how do you prefer to study the cards? - Use one deck (maybe a new one) and study each card one, read the white book, research correspondences etc. - Choose one specific card, then pull out the same card in each deck you have, comparing and making notes with intuition and correspondences - Something else?

How do you pick your cards for a reading? Do you pick all cards from the top of the deck or do you pick them random from the deck? Or how do you do? I usually pick mine from the top, but sometimes I pick them random or even from the bottom of the deck.

I just saw this in an online store. I was surprised that they're actually a thing. So has anybody actually used them? How were they like - were they effective? Which brand/s did you use, and would you recommend them? I don't know if they're available locally, but if they're really good I might import some to test them.

Hi everyone Yesterday's brief discussion (in "any suggestions for bright decks") of the World Spirit Tarot's "Baby Nixon" Sun card got me thinking: what are some cards that make you say "what were they thinking when they came up with that ? "

I'll probably have time next weekend. I'm off Thursday, I'll do it then. Can't believe the month is over already, I'm sorry, I'll get right on it. I've had a house fire/leg amputated/death in the neighborhood I've had a sliver. I've had a flat tire. I'm waiting for the new moon I'm waiting for the full moon. The moon has fallen so I got sidetracked. I'm waiting for Pluto to be in axis with the sun before I can start. My king of staves has peanut butter on it. All said with a smile but...wouldn't we be much better readers if we just sat down and got it done? If you've had time to check facebook, watch…

Hi All, I hope you are well and staying safe :) I have a question! I am new to tarot and had a reading a few days about asking if my ex was going to come back into my life. The answer was 'likely'. Since this reading we had an argument where we blocked each other off everything- so there is no form of communication. Does this mean that the tarot reading has changed now and wont be the same answer? should i ask the question again? Thank you :)

Calling on my intuitive readers. I need helpful hints! Starting out and developing my intuitive senses makes me nervous. It is a huge step for me! While making mistakes will be inevitable, I'm calling on those who have experience in the intuitive reading realm. What are some of the biggest mistakes you've made in the past, particularly when you were first starting off? I think this will help me as I start out on my intuitive journey. It won't prevent me from making my own mistakes, but it will help me look out for common stumbling blocks that the beginner may want to look out for. [Just a reminder that this is a safe space. The last thing we want …

With the exception of a couple practice readings on my mother, I've only done readings for myself and I don't really do any preparation because I think of it as practice. The readings I did for my mother were a little draining, probably from performance anxiety, but I've seen several pro readers talk about how they have to prepare themselves before/between readings with clients. Do you do anything to prepare yourself energetically (or center yourself, regulate your nervous system, whatever phrasing makes sense to you)?

Do you prefer to buy used or brand new decks? I'm not averse to purchasing used decks, altho they must be clean and they should not look worn out. But I did notice that each and every deck I bought were brand new, like untouched and sealed, brand spanking new. All of my decks are like that, without exception. Maybe I have a subconscious imperative that I should be the first one to touch my any deck I own so that they would be mine and mine alone, and so that I can imprint on them or something.

I'm just curious - is there anybody else here who still tries to hide their Tarot practice from others? To whom do you conceal it, and why?

it happens to everyone ,, you are in a middle of a great reading,, then all the sudden KAPOW blank mind , it seems like everything you ever known about the tarot has left your brain, ! there is the old (new to some who never heard of this i guess) techique of using numerology to correspond cards with other cards,, mary k greer eve wrote a book on called tarot contellations . you take your double digits numbers and add them. 15 becomes 6 ! so the devil becomes the lovers , and everything moves by the hermit card in the tarot consellations. i was thinking of that further and discerned if you can add the numbers then you must be able to subtract the numbers..…

When I read, I ask the cards to tell me a story about me that is true for today. I don’t ask yes or no questions, I don’t do divination, I don’t apply my readings to specific situations, and I definitely don’t ask “third party” questions such as “Does he love me?” or “Is she cheating on her husband?” Tarot is for me a spiritual Rorschach test, a mirror into my soul. I just read to see what is going on with me today. I use a five card spread of my own design – the Axis of Time and the Axis of Place – like this: 5 this is around me 2 this is behind me 1 this is the here and now 3 this is before me …

Just a quick heads-up; the tarot courses from Little Red (Intuitive tarot & Card a Day) will no longer be up for sale after the 31st of December. People who have purchased a course before then will still be able to access them, though. I bought the Intuitive one recently - still on the fence about the Card-a-day one. I guess I still have a day to make up my mind.... Does anyone have any experience with her Card a Day course? (I crossposted this to another forum as well, my apologies if you see this twice :) )

would there be anything you'd do/fix/work out/create? I still grieve for the loss of the community interaction at Aeclectic Tarot. Get over it, move on, yadayada....but in a perfect world, Dear Santa, I'd like to see Cartomancy, Cult of Tarot and Here, combine. I know it would still never please everyone, nothing does, I know there are egos involved, has to be, we're human. But wouldn't it be wonderful? They each have strengths that would be so wonderful to be sourced in one spot. Witchvox? Come on in too! So much information, so many interesting people, now all segregated... where is the fun in that? I made the decisi…

I apologize if this is in the wrong section? My cousin has recently moved and after having a clear out given me her Green Witch Tarot but she has lost the lwb that came with it, does anyone know where I could either get a copy or even an online site that might have the meanings? I have tried looking online but not had much luck. Thank you.

I was hanging out with a male friend of mine, when he took my my deck and started shuffling, not intending to get a reading or anything. He opened the deck and it showed the Lovers. We have a complex history. There is mutual attraction, but because of the current situation we can't do anything about it. Sometimes it feels quite difficult. So many things resonate with our situation, it's quite eery. Even down to our names (localized names for Adam and Eve). What do you think it means? Does it mean anything? I've been trying to figure it out, and the furthest I can get is that we have to make a choice. It's a very superficial interpretati…

Anyone else have a deck with a sense of humour? I was having a particularly bad start to the day so asked my cards what I should I know about the day ahead. I drew one card. Knight of pentacles. Yeah, ok, steady steady, my day needs some patience and caution. Yeah yeah! Then, feeling a bit fed up, I ask the cards to show me something to cheer me up. I shuffle again and pull one card. The Knight of Pentacles. Thanks a lot. ;) ;D Very funny!!!

So like reading tarot cards while skydiving, right? Nah just kidding, I'm more talking about reading cards past their traditional meanings. It's taking what you that know of a card, and going beyond that to nearly the other side - so, almost like reading a reversal, but ... not really. You'll end up seeing the dark side of a "lighter" card, and the silver lining of a darker card, often, but not in the normal reversal sort of way. Let me go into it here, using the 10 of Cups as an example. That's pretty much as idealistic of a card as you can get! Mom & Dad, 2 children dancing, a little house on property with a stream... They've got it all! The perfect,…

This is probably a difficult question as you may have lots you like. But there must be one that is an all time favourite. My one is the 10 of Cups from the legacy of the Divine tarot. It is so heartwarming and beautiful, l smile whenever it comes up for me and my sitters.

Am I the only freak of loves the smell of their cards, especially when they are new? 🤣 The deodorizing thread and having just taken out a deck I haven't used in a long time that I never used much and smelling them made me wonder if its just me? I love to take random whiffs of my cards when using them. I also love the smell of books and paper. Any other sniffers out there? 😂
