Hello ! I think i have the most accurate username for tarot. i'm very very new and having a hard time reading things for myself when i start to incorporate multiple cards. what i mean is, i drew a 3 card career reading for myself- not with the intention of past/present/future, just 3 card.... i pulled 3 of wands, king of swords and 9 of pentacles reversed. i interpreted it as the position i'm seeking is still available to me and within reach (3 of wands) but in order to secure it, i need to demonstrate my skills/education/expertise (king of swords) without the insecurity i feel (9 of pentacles). i guess i'm wondering if a…

For those of you who work with 2 or more systems (RWS, Thoth, Marseille)... How separate do you keep this systems when working with them? Do you tend to read the same way for all? Does one system bleed over into another? Does

Howdy Tarot Fam! I was wondering if any of you ever read at events like Renaissance Festivals or other similar fairs. Do you have any recommendations for type of canopy / vendor tent to use? Any decorating tips? My wife and I are thinking of doing a booth at a small-ish local Ren Fest (small in that it only runs two weekends), and vendors are expected to bring their own set-up. So I figured I'd look to you all for some advice. Thanks in advance!

I've been looking at the correspondence between tarot and astrology and I have a huge problem. All the majors seem to correspond with thier astrological signs no issue...bit when we get to the minors it becomes a mess. My understanding is that each of the majors represent a either a planet or a zodiac sign. And each zodiac sign has 3 minors it is related to called the deacons. If we look at the emperor card, he is also aries. And that's fine...his deacons are the 2, 3,and 4 of wands. Those 3 correspond to certain planets within aries. Looking at the golden dawn correspondence to those 3 cards and referencing numerous sources on astrology , they al…

Hello, I am still relatively new in tarot readings , but do truly enjoy them , and do feel like I connect to what the cards are telling me. In the past few months I have noticed (not that it's been hard to) , that I repeatedly am drawing The Judgment in my readings and always in an upright position, presented as me now or "What to do" type of a card. I do understand the basic- change seeking meaning of the card and see that there is a lesson to be learned. But wanted to hear your visions and thoughts about that. Thank you.

I bought this deck a few year ago. It is a reproduction deck, not the original. It is really nice quality deck with good quality stock and colourful printing. Each cards are exactly same as the original cards. I used to have a battered original Thomson Leng deck before this reproduction was bought. But the original deck was sold. Cannot recall how much it was sold for - not much due to poor condition with the age wear on each cards. But because I liked the deck, and regretted selling it, I bought this reproduction deck soon after. But then forgot about it, just leaving it in the drawer for months. A few days ago, I have taken out th…

Hey all, I'm very much interested in Tarot cards at the moment. Now I'm wondering about this question and can't seem to find any answers on it. In readings is the Major Arcana more relevant than the Minor Arcana cards? Or should all of them be considered important? Here are some examples for a career reading: Lets say someone gets The Tower, The 10 of Pentacles and The 4 of Wands, how would that be interpreted? Lets say someone gets The Chariot, The 5 of Pentacles and The 5 of Cups, how would that be interpreted? One example is a Major Arcana card that is terrible, followed by 2 good minor cards to get in a reading. The other example is a Major Arcana card …

So...I have completely misplaced my original RWS deck that I got 30 something years ago. It happened about a year ago in a move. It is frustrating in that I swear it was with my other decks, but it is not...and i KNOW it is not in my old place b/c I have been there twice since I moved to give paper work to the new owner. I really want to use it. Is it weird that I feel "guilty" about buying a new one....or I am more wondering should I buy a new one, or will that "mess up the vibes" I have wiht the old one. I KNOW what's going to happen is I will buy a new one, and the old one will suddenly appear again... on the other hand, if the old one does reap…

In this spread I asked what are his feelings towards me? So I drew 6 cards and used the Smith-Wait-tarot deck : King of swords clarified by the Queen of cups. Temperance clarified by Ace of cups And knight of swords clarified by 2 of cups My interpretation: King of swords and Queen of cups: this person is very logical with his feelings, keeps them inside/controls them towards me, which can most likely be Deep and full of warthm as clarified by the Queen of cups. Temperance and Ace of cups: wants a relationship that is balanced and stable with me, has romantic feelings towards me and wants a Union. Knight of swords and 2 of cups: wants to act on an impulse and co…

Hi guys and girls!😀 As per object, I would like to understand one thing. Currently, to understand the meaning of a specific card, if I need it, after reading, I shuffle on the cards and spread again asking for explanations on that specific card difficult to interpret (or more than a card) and this method works well.✌️🏻 But I would like to understand if it is possible, instead of shuffle the deck and spread again, for each uncertain card, continue to spread one, two, three or more cards under each card (uncertain). Which technique do you usually use and with what results? Thanks for the sharing of your experiences 🙏🏻

Friday night and Saturday, I had a sitter each night for a 15 minute reading, very grateful, but each of them didn't really have a question and I tried to help them along with relationships questions, each absolutely refused to go there. So I said lets just do a question about th future. Great. So the 4 of swords came up in one present position Friday, and I couldn't really think of much to say excellent well, maybe you need to meditate more. I don't remember what the three previous past cards were, and I hadn't yet been able to see the other present card was, but that's one of the two cards I just seem to go blank on at times. Saturday, the 7 of swords came up …

Hi! I've seen a few times now some incredibly impressive tarot readings in action. Seeing an experienced and trained reader be able to connect so powerfully with their cards that they are able to see major life events like death, physical accidents, pregnancy, natural disasters, etc is something that's as exciting to watch as sports are for some people I think. I was wondering about any one - of any levels - takes on certain card combinations that result in an answer that is quite probably a very specific answer. For example, The Tower on its own or with a whole host of combinations can result in many general readings. But I've heard people mention that The Tower wh…

Noobie here, apologies as needed. I'm sure there are already threads about this, but when I searched I either got nothing or a bazillion not-really-related hits. My question: How weird am I for following some not-scientifically-proven rituals to help feel bonded to my deck? Half my brain says it's 78 pieces of cardboard (which can help you tap into creative thinking techniques that show you new things). The other half of my brain says, "But what about what happened that time, with your cards? And that time? And that time? You can still believe it's just cardboard? You don't think synchronicity is real? C'mon." But either way, I do think…

How much time do you spend everyday with your tarot deck/tarot decks? At the moment it's not more than 5 minutes a day for me, it's when I draw my daily card. :-[

The Wildwood Tarot...it refuses to work with me and has refused since day one. I've had the Wildwood Tarot for several years but it has never, ever been a reader for me. Ever. I've done everything I can think of to get it to warm to me. I've cleansed it with incense, moonlight, sunlight, the elements. I've carried it around with me. It's rested on my nightstand while I sleep. I've set crystals on it. I've tried meditating on and journaling my daily draws. I've shuffled it and shuffled it and shuffled it and still, nothing. I'll leave it alone for awhile and return to it months and months later to see if anything has changed and still no. I want to work with this de…

Has anyone else made their own diy decks and how well did they work out for you? I made a mini italian cartomancy deck out of posterboard and while accurate I just couldn't bond with it the way I have with mass produced decks that I owned. Does that mean I did something wrong??

In the Reading for Those in the Public Eye thread I mentioned that I had to reframe questions like "Does Johnny love me?" so I am not invading one's privacy. I took this advice from a couple of tarot books (I won't name the writers of the books here), and it seems that a few of the experienced readers who are members of this forum said, well one said they would lose 50% of their clients if they didn't take those questions and another reader said they take those questions because it would be nice to have food & electricity in one's home lol. Everything I know about Tarot comes from books that I have read. I would be interested in th…

Who else is excited for Robert Place's latest magnum opus, The Tarot, Magic, Alchemy, Hermeticism, and Neoplatonism? It's bound to be released any time now. I know I said that I have a moratorium on deck- and book-buying until September, but come on, this is Robert Place!
