My new deck arrived today! Super excited. I've had a few readings done for me over the years but I've never tried doing it myself. But the other day I felt compelled to learn, and this was the first thing that came up when I searched 'tarot deck'. I absolutely love it and feel it's meant to be. Already a card fell out when I was looking through them and when I looked up the meaning it really spoke to me 😊 One question though. The reading info that came with this deck is quite small and for a newbie like me, it doesn't tell me much to be able to do a good reading. Can I search online for more info for the cards (eg a specific card always means a specific thing …

This hasn't happened to me...yet. But has anyone ever done a reading and the querent got really mad? Like a relationship reading they were in denial about? I have had the same querent ask me, more than once, about the same relationship, but never had anyone go off about how that just can't be true, but know it has happened to others. ANYONE? If so, was it about love, family, career?

Hello everyone Are there any decks that you're really attracted to, but you just can't get yourself to say yes to? Mine is the Crystal Visions Tarot. It's a beautiful deck, and it's on my wish list, but when it comes down to it, I just can't get myself to buy it. Are there any decks that you feel this way about?

How would you interpret the Empress in regards to timing? I asked when someone would become pregnant and pulled the Empress. I personally use the suits for timing and am not well versed in the methods of using Tarot to determine a specific time frame. What I found online wasn’t particularly helpful either. thank you in advance 🙂

I am wondering how many Tarot books you have. I have more books than decks. I have 20 books on Tarot. How many do you have?

I originally did quintessence by only adding minor arcana (excluding courts) and now I add all including courts (I don't use reversals but if I did I would subtract their values) and I was just wondering 1: how those of you that use a quint add up the value and 2: do you view it as an overall outcome, theme, hidden factor, etc? Side note: I've heard some people add the bottom card of the deck's value, why?

I know this sounds like something that belongs to the de -enable thread but it isn't. So, I own about 7-8 decks most are RWS clones which is what I like using. Out of these decks I used about 3-4 for most of my readings- some I really liked but couldn't connect to yet- like the Wild unknown and the Hidden Realm Tarot. originally, when I started I got the original RWS deck- which I used a bit but quickly stopped using- moving to more " modernly designed decks". A few weeks ago, when I returned to Tarot on a more regular basis- I opened my closet that housed the decks- and this one kinda called me... So I picked it…

I am really talking about disagreeing with someone else's interpretation of the cards that they pulled for you. Say you have a different relationship with a card which would lead you to a different outlook, would you accept the other person's view as gospel because that is the situation you put yourself in? Or would you appreciate their perspective but ultimately go with your own reading?

I'm just sort of curious! Out of the time that you spend in your day working with tarot, thinking about tarot, studying tarot, playing with tarot, what sort of balance you've struck! I'll talk about my balance in a bit, but I want to see what the polls bring in first!

What do you look for in a deck? What attracts you to this deck but not that one? Have you noticed a difference between the decks that don't work for you after all when you've gotten them home and in your hands, and the ones that sync up with you pretty much instantly? Is it an art style? Symbolism? Something harder to define? And just in general - what makes you buy a deck? What's your taste in tarot? Traditional? Or the complete opposite? Rich oil-painting colours, or pastels? Do you like photographic decks, like the Starchild or David Bowie tarots, or ones where every card's art was originally painted by hand? And why do you like what you like? I just find it fas…

If you have a new deck of cards (1 week old, about 5 readings in total, shuffled each time) and you've shuffled them a bit before the reading and pulled up a row (4 or 5) of the same suit, would you reshuffle? Would you discount the reading? I recently drew ridiculously favourable cards (a row of cups) for a situation that IRL looks dire. Should I re-do the spread?

Hello all! I have ADHD (among other things) and I find that while I prefer to do Tarot at night, by the time I feel "ready" to do readings, my ADHD medicine has worn off and I have a very hard time focussing on the reading itself, which tends to put me all over the place. I'm not one for pomp and circumstance, but I do try to show respect to my craft and my patron, Kuan Yin. I end up feeling guilty every time I get distracted trying to do a reading, but it's honestly something I can't help very much. So my general question is: does anyone have any tips for aiding in focus/staying on track? I've tried using incense as a "signifier" of sorts, but it ends up feeling m…

I am a newbie in this area and Tarot cards and Tarot reading intrigues me greatly. I have collected so many decks already. But I don't think I am very intuitive. Some pictures speak to me but some absolutely don't. Like the King card of all the four suits seem no different to me from each other. They seem to me like they have the same expression on their face. And what else am I looking into these cards to see what they are saying? I was looking at doing one of online tarot classes and I read someone commenting that "if your tarot reader tells you that they got into tarot reading after doing one of these classes, then you turn around and run" and that comment kind of hav…

I do a lot of work with missing-person cases in the State of New Hampshire and created two spreads specifically for that purpose. I recently had two "case closures" (the person was found pretty much as predicted) that are encouraging as to the effectiveness of the approach (although not so much regarding the survival of the subject). Here is the most recent one; the other one was posted on my blog on July 28. https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2019/08/01/what-happened-to-linda-a-missing-person-case-closure/

I was given a new deck by someone I recently ended things with. It’s a wonderful deck and I want to use it, but is that a bad idea? What’s is the general consensus on using gifted tarot decks when you have negative feelings toward the person who gave it? Any ideas for DEEP cleaning the deck before use?

Those that read for others, do you keep a record of the readings that you do? This only applies to where that's possible to do of course, e.g. readings done by email or video call. I have recently started to do readings for friends and family and real life events have started to reflect what came up in those readings. I'm fascinated to see this happening (obviously!) and have also noticed nuances and facets appear for certain card meanings. I'd love to keep a note of these observations as part of my learning journey but I'm second guessing myself as to whether keeping a record of readings done for others is overstepping a boundary. I would always …

Hi 👋 I hope I’m posting to the correct forum... When you ask your deck for clarification regarding the cards in your spread, how do you do so? Do you shuffle and cut the deck again? Do you continue pulling from the same stack? Or do you have other ways to help quench your curiosity? I really appreciate your input! 😊 Thanks! -A

Hello tarot friends, I'm looking for a little advice regarding a difficult tarot deck :). Last year, after much longing, I finally got my hands on a copy of the beautiful Wildwood Tarot. We had a little shuffle, I did my first draw and I got a nonsensical answer. Okay, teething problems, I thought to myself. I did something I would normally never do and cleansed the deck with sage and reiki and put it away for a while. I keep getting drawn to this deck and every couple of months I take it out but each time, I get the snarkiest answers! Like, I ask it how it wants to be worked with and it gives me the three of swords. This sounds ridiculous but I'm starting to thi…

The question makes it seem a little bit different than what it is. I have had readings from others and I have done some on myself about a situation that I am currently in. It is a situation that I feel I desperately need and want answers about. What it boils down to is that I have a stalker. I have a counselor, psychiatrist, lawyer, and the cops all involved. So, I am handling it as thoroughly as possible. But, whenever I have came to tarot to understand anything over the last 3 months, the cards always seem to tell me that I just have to sit back and let the story unfold, I am to do nothing but let the universe do what the universe does, I will have answers when the time…

Hello guys, (this ended up being too long, so I just summed it up in the end for those who maybe want to help but don't want to read it all) I'm writing to ask for some help. So, as I said here before, I'm pretty new to tarot. I've been using mostly the vivid journey deck, and I'm still in the process of learning the cards, the readings, etc. But then the other day I went to a store, to buy something else entirely, and ended up leaving the store with a new deck, mostly because I really liked the imagery. It's called "Tarot of druids". When I got home and read the little booklet that comes with it I was actually really happy because, even though I …

I think its better sometimes not ask about some things in future and just lets see what happened because very often some things happen but differently than you expect or nothing happen because you expect it.

Hi everyone, Would there be any interest in a historical/TdM Circle? This wouldn't start before January, of course, as we're well into December already. Do you have any suggestions or ideas? I'd like to do something reasonably new with it, if there's enough interest. :)

So, just as a general study (transferring notes into a new notebook), I was looking at The Devil and it's interpretations. One of the books that I particularly like is "Tarot Reversals" by Mary K. Greer. In her article on The Devil - reversed, she writes; The reason I bring this up is because I can't help thinking (and have it in my notes) for similar meanings for the upright card. Seeing The Devil as the "false leader", dictators, corrupt politicians or batterers. I could see the victims of all of these as those chained to the block The Devil sits on, in most cases unable to change their circumstances or blind to what is going on. I am assuming that in this conte…

I came across these tarot pint glasses at Urban Outfitters- aren't they super cute? Also, Urban Outfitters is apparently selling a variety of tarot and oracle decks now. I guess we are all hip and trendy. Any other cute tarot-themed home items or other goodies you have come across?
