I couldn't find a specific sub-forum dedicated to (study) books, so I'm posting this here; please feel free to point out a more suitable place! 🙂 Quite a long time ago, I purchased a pdf online with tarot exercises. The way I remember it, the book / course was aimed at learning about and developing yourself through the tarot - not so much at learning tarot card meanings. It had line drawn illustrations, quite cute, of flowers etc. But, several computers / harddrives later, I have no idea where it is, what it was called or who made it.... I've tried googling, but so far haven't had any luck in finding it. Does it ri…

Hello tarot fam! So I finally took the plunge and scored a pretty sweet deal on a Swiss 1JJ deck from 1974. Woohoo! The cards are in good shape, but they have spent many of their 45 years in a smoker's house. So they're quarantined from my other decks until the odor dissipates a bit. I've currently got them in a Tupperware with a sachet of dried lavender beside the deck. The box is also in a Tupperware with a sachet of baking soda sitting inside it. We'll see how that does after they've sat today and tonight. Do you folks have any other tried and true methods that you use to eliminate odors?

Hi, I've been using Biddy online to look up meanings for Tarot and sometimes look up Youtube videos for individual cards, but I was wondering if anyone knows a great website for real noobs like me to learn Tarot? xP I'm looking for free tarot guide sites, even if it's from a blogger, and cheap, but effective tarot books. But I can't read wordy or high vocabulary books...my attention span sometimes shuts off or fly away, unfortunately... I'm someone that learns best when it affects my emotions...But I don't think there are tarot guidebooks like that lol, but I'm just looking for a good cheap guide for beginners that also talks about reversals. And if a book mentions…

Hi all, after a breakup I received a reading which encouraged me to move on. The reader told me that it (our relationship) could not work which indeed is the case at this point, and I have been moving forward. However, I found myself thinking that how much if at all can the tarot cards predict the future. "Could not work" are words that have been teasing me a bit, since who knows about the future? Sometimes, maybe there is a soul contract of only having a short relationship and then moving on? Or, maybe one can see that if things didn't work out the first time, a second chance is very unlikely. But even then, I wonder how much the cards…

Hi all I’m a newbie, so hope this is posted in the right place 😊 I’m finding it really helpful to go back and look at the meaning of each individual number and then apply this to each Suit as a way of revising the Minor meanings - it’s a really useful cross reference. E.g. 1/Ace being new beginnings, potential, energy etc. applying to relationships (Cups), business ventures, career, promotion (Pentacles) and so on. Does/has anyone else used this technique and found it useful? Can anyone share links to any good tarot/numerology resources? Thanks all 😊

I’ve recently started journaling again after a long time. I was trying to describe a mood I was feeling, and I thought of the 10 of Wands card. Card expressed what I was writing about and how I was feeling that day, overburdened. I think that it could be helpful for me when I’m having a certain feeling to post for my self in my entries, a card that matches my current state of mind. Does anyone else do this?

Hi I was wondering what your thoughts are when it comes to activating/aligning chakras when it comes to tarot or oracle card reading. Have you found your results have improved when you've worked on your chakras if so how did you do it?

I have been doing Tarot on and off for a few years now but recently I've decided to get more serious with my Tarot studies. Reversals have always been troublesome for me to interpret so I've decided that I will start small and work my way up to them in due time. I decided to do a reading where any reversals would be ignored concerning "What is the status of my love life?". I've had some ups and downs being alone, and I would like to know what I can do to cultivate a relationship for myself. I've used a three card spread where: 1 -> Current Status or State 2 -> What is blocking me from getting into a relationship 3 -> What can I do to bring love into my life. The …

I only read for myself and maybe friends/family. It's not a daily thing, I'll just reach for the deck when I really think I need it. It's a small RW deck. However in the past 3-4 months I've been finding it increasingly hard. I feel like I need to invest a ton of energy into one reading. When I first started I was asking a million questions and now I barely ever touch the deck. When I do, my interpretation seems off. It's like we've gone off each other or something. I cleansed the deck - I put it in a salt bowl over night, and went over each card with Palo Santo. Still off. I also got a Lenormand deck thinking I needed a change, and I can't get…

I was going to do some readings eventually in the future pertaining to my relationships with people. I think it would be really cool to include each individual's Tarot birth card to help understand their actions and personalities and going forward or even letting go of theses relationships. What are some good ways to include the tarot birth card in spreads? I would like to know peoples thoughts on this idea too because I am very new to tarot! thank you!

I've just discovered that one of my decks has a card missing - the Eight of Swords. What should I do? It's a deck that I like a lot and use regularly. I've no idea where the card could be. I take decks away from home sometimes so I can do daily draws while travelling so it may be it fell under a hotel bed somewhere 😞 Or it may be lurking in a dusty corner at home... Should I still read with it? What are the issues with reading with an incomplete deck?

I've been reading a lot of newer Tarot books lately. One phrase that bothers me is the insistence that some court cards are said to be playing the victim. We all know people who blame others for everything bad that happens to them. I'm not taking about that. What bothers me is there is no acknowledgement that there are REAL victims. There are people murdered, raped, abused as children, it the consequences of war and can have PTSD due to no fault of their own. The survivors can have such low self-esteem that they believe that somehow they deserve the horrible things that happened to them. That's not going to solve anything. I think there had to be an ackno…

Hey everyone! Has anyone used the Akashic Tarot by Sharon Anne Klingler and Sandra Anne Taylor? I just got this deck with the purpose of doing some past life work. I am hoping it will be wonderful for past life readings for others. But I am not exactly sure where or how to start with this. Are there any study groups or deposits of knowledge or guidance that one could tap, or could we start a study circle for this deck? I feel like it has tremendous potential but that such potential can better be tapped in a sharing setting. Thank you! ~Shanachie05.

I noticed a few people talking about struggling to read for themselves, even when they find it easy to read for other people , so I thought a thread compiling some tips for that would be useful! My main trick is to treat a reading for myself as I do reading for others. As I read mainly online through written readings, that means I do my own readings the same way when I'm struggling. I go so far as to do all the formatting and rewording the question to fit - like, dated of asking "What do I need to know about the situation at work?", I'll ask "What does Libra need to know about the situation she is facing at work?". By separating myself from the reading, I find I can re…

Synchronicity, a concept introduced by Carl Jung, refers to meaningful coincidences that seem related not by cause and effect but by their symbolic significance. These events reveal deeper patterns in the universe and our lives. In the context of tarot, synchronicity is the principle that ensures the cards drawn in a reading are exactly what you need to see at that moment. When you shuffle and lay out the cards, you engage with the collective unconscious—a shared reservoir of universal archetypes and symbols that tarot taps into. The cards you draw reflect your current issues, emotions, and questions, not by random chance, but through meaningful coincidence. …

If any of you get paid for readings, how much do you charge? My mum suggested that perhaps this could get me through college, instead of waiting tables or working at a grocery store. And I have sold a few readings through etsy. But I have charged 1 or 2 dollars, and I have given really in depth readings (up to 800 words written reply) and allowed for follow up questions. I have had to limit it to one follow up question, because some costumers really have asked so many follow up questions, that I have worked for over 3 hours on one purchase, for 1 dollar. Then, I'd do better working at a store. So it's hard work, too, when people really...Uh, do you in english have t…

Here's my first real-life tarot experience. This blew my mind. I was trying to make sense of the daily reading I did this morning which featured Judgement. I'd been expecting something important to happen, but I had a pretty mundane day. So this afternoon I did a 3-card spread to clarify. I got The Chariot (It means this), The Fool (It does not mean this), and The Hierophant (It leads to this). So I am sitting thinking, wow all these major cards. This is clearly supposed to be an important day, but nothing has happened. I was ruminating on The Hierophant when it hit me really clearly. This was telling me to follow the rules. To keep control of my chariot and not be …
