How do you shuffle your cards? Do you cut them by hands or fan them out or do something else? And why do you choose to shuffle your cards the way you do?

To what extent, in your experience, do a querent's unspoken hopes affect the cards that come up to illustrate the future/ outcome of the situation on which they are reading? For example, being fired from a job, or a rejection of some kind, may seem like a "negative" outcome to most people. If the querent, however, wants such an outcome (and is conscious of their wish, but does not speak of it), might it show up as, say, the Sun, Knight of Cups, or Page of Cups (cards that traditionally refer to good news) where for others it might have shown up as the Tower, Death or Ten of Swords? I have recently decided to look into a situation that has been going on for 4 months I must of encountered this card every reading I have done , whenever I am leisurely shuffling my cards I find this card on the top or bottom of the pile and when I randomly select a card yes it’s the 4 of chalices. In May I'm going to Montreal for the first time and I'm trying to learn some Canadian French. Can any French-speaking members share some Tarot vocabulary, like majors or reading vocabulary? If you could share how it's pronounced, that would be a plus for me. How about any good tarot spots in Montreal? Places to buy decks or get readings?

Do you use spread cloths when you lay out your cards? If so- what kind of cloths do you use? Do you make them yourself? Purchase them? Use scarves or other pieces of fabric you happen to have around? I am wanting another spread cloth or two, so am curious what others use. I have one altar cloth/tarot cloth with a depiction of the Horned God that I use that is beautiful and very well made. Other than that I tend to just use scarves that I think are pretty. I don't always use cloths when I lay out my cards though, especially if I'm just doing a simple reading for myself.

Have you ever tried to read on a specific issue, only to realize later that the cards you have been receiving do not reference that particular issue, but rather the general energies in your life? How would you make sense of this, or mitigate such a tendency?

Just a quick heads-up; the tarot courses from Little Red (Intuitive tarot & Card a Day) will no longer be up for sale after the 31st of December. People who have purchased a course before then will still be able to access them, though. I bought the Intuitive one recently - still on the fence about the Card-a-day one. I guess I still have a day to make up my mind.... Does anyone have any experience with her Card a Day course? (I crossposted this to another forum as well, my apologies if you see this twice :) )

Tarot Card Combinations?

I am always afraid to say anything but if the signs keep coming up I will sometimes mention possibly involvement with other people of the opposite sex or flirting but never put it so bluntly ever...more literal and upfront though if they ask about it or mention it in particular. I will only mention anything if I am very certain and I keep getting this feeling from them..So what do you do...? On one hand I feel it's wrong to say nothing when you see something like this...on the other what if I'm wrong and I have them paranoid for no reason; it's a really tricky situation to navigate. :(

I'm trying to find a reliable android app that gives accurate card explanations, a good range of different spreads and allows for user shuffling and card selection for spreads, and collates data to be able to provide information about trends in your readings. Does anyone have plans for working with their cards as we begin the new year? These could be certain elements of your practice you want to focus on, things you want to learn, working with certain decks, etc. I am recommitting myself to a daily tarot practice. I know that we have discussed trimming and edging several times before, and I have shared picks in the past of decks that I have modified in different ways. I usually only modify a deck if I feel that it is way too large for my hands or that the borders are truly bothersome (aesthetically). And the edging takes place as a sort of sacred ritual where I adorn my decks. (A bit off topic but I'm adding a picture of my copy of Tarot of the Crone when I was partially done edging it in black. Thought it would be interesting to see everyone's Tarot year card for 2019. I'm sure many of know how to calculate this, but I came across three methods posted by MareSaturni at AT. I've now used my own birthday which is June 26 and will use the year 2018 in the examples. I have no idea which one is the most accurate. The tread started by MareSaturni engendered a long debate. Hey! I've been looking into buying a small bag (preferably velvet) or a small box that would fit a full deck for storage. Here's my first real-life tarot experience. This blew my mind. I was trying to make sense of the daily reading I did this morning which featured Judgement. I'd been expecting something important to happen, but I had a pretty mundane day. So this afternoon I did a 3-card spread to clarify. When the eight of wands indicates a fast outcome or a quick change, how fast are we talking? Is there a time limit or a general idea of what that means?

I've been reading for others since May of this year....I couldn't tell you exactly how many readings I've done for others (all long distance)...but if I had to guess maybe around 200. But tonight. I am currently performing a tarot reading to give spiritual advice to my boyfriend's family which have financial concerns, and while I read it I started to feel extremely uncomfortable, stressed, and tearful.
