In my daily spread I've sometimes been getting difficult/challenging cards in the advice posistion and I've started to think about what they can mean when they come up like that. I'm talking about cards like The Tower, 9 of Swords, 5 of Pentacles etc. Are they saying I'm a jerk who could do with some of the trouble sometimes implicated by these kinds of cards or is it more of a "it's not as bad as you think and you've survived this before" sort of message? Are they softened by coming up as advice or is that just wishful thinking on my behalf? Hoping someone more experienced than me could chime in on this!

So I asked how my boyfriend felt about me and I kept getting the Page of Cups reversed. I read somewhere that this might mean that I need to let go of the honeymoon phase and allow the relationship to move to the next level. I LOVED the honeymoon phases, we have been together ten months and although the sizzle is still there it's not as exciting. But the deep love and the security of that lasting love are formidable and present. I'm also having trouble with down time in the relationship, like we have been so close we've talked about so much, sometimes we have nothing to say. Any other ideas?

I noticed that they have upgraded their Tarot kit boxes. When I bought the Golden Dawn Magical Tarot and the Tarot of Vampyres around two years ago, while the cards have been average (if a bit on the thin side) physically speaking and the companion books simply divine (they were critically lauded and were definitely some of the best in the market), the box these sets came with were an altogether tragic affair. They were flimsy, sad things that would cave in if they were stacked with other sets or books. There was a huge, near-universal clamor for tougher and hardier boxes, but nobody was really expecting anything since Llewellyn has survived for years upon years and this …

Hey, im wondering what would be the best partner for the knight of swords? If you think about the knights, they move a lot, from here there and everywhere. I cant imagine many women being able to have a relationship with him. So im thinking someone free, perhaps the star or 8 of wands? In fact im curious what kind of woman all knights would go for simply because they are never settled. They are always going somewhere serving some kind of battle and may die the very next day.

I am really talking about disagreeing with someone else's interpretation of the cards that they pulled for you. Say you have a different relationship with a card which would lead you to a different outlook, would you accept the other person's view as gospel because that is the situation you put yourself in? Or would you appreciate their perspective but ultimately go with your own reading?

Since I was having trouble shuffling a new deck (the edges couldn't take a faro shuffle or a riffle), I had to come up with something else. Then I remembered a method my Dad had taught me many, many years ago when teaching me to play poker. The thing is, it's excellent for large decks or fragile because it does not require much flexing of the cards and doesn't cause wear on the edges. See the attachments for examples to go along with the instructions; 1) Holding the Deck; Hold the deck in your dominant hand, face down between your thumb and fingers. I tend to hold the deck by the top & bottom, but if it is too large for you this way, it works just as well to hol…

When reading the tarot, are you intuitive, or do you rely on traditional meanings? I am a combination of both. I am 30% intuitive, 70% rely on traditional meanings.

Do you use them? If yes, why? If no, why? It depends on the spread. I don't use it for 3 cards spread, but I will use it for celtic cross spread. I like the feel of significators. I like having something as a theme for me to work with.

Just curious, have you ever encountered a deck that somehow filled you with intense foreboding (and not just because of the price)? Decks which you have physically seen or beheld and which you noped away from, simply because it's giving off bad vibes? Well I personally haven't, but I've heard some stories.

For those who perform self-readings, do you blame yourself if something happens which catches you utterly by surprise, and which you feel like you should have foreseen in one of your previous readings and maybe even prevented? Do you try to escape that mindset? If so, what are the most effective techniques that you'd recommend? Or do you hold your regrets and disappointments close to your heart, to remind yourself that you should always strive to be better, or as an impetus to never be careless again?

I'm off of work next week and I'm thinking about getting a reading from a professional reader, which I've never done before. I've been having issues with being angry and I'd love to get some insight into what's going on and what I can do about it. First off, if anyone can recommend someone in the San Francisco Bay Area - preferably the north bay - let me know. I'd also be down with doing a day trip to San Francisco. Any ideas on how to find someone and what the cost might be? I've been looking online and, despite typing in tarot, I keep getting astrology which isn't my thing. I imagine there's cross over, but if I'm going to do this, I specifically want a tarot re…

I'm not sure where to post this.... I hope this gets attention ! I was just in Turin, and went to the Lo Scarabeo 30th anniversary exhibition there. It is HUGELY worth seeing, and I advise anyone who may be in that area before it closes in January to make a detour and see it for yourself. It's at the Museo Ettore Fico. http://www.museofico.it/en/mostre/tarocchi-dal-rinascimento-oggi/ There are loads of historic decks, as well as new ones; there is all kinds of information about tarot and the various systems - it really is fantastic. Ric Minetti and Anna Maria Morsucci put it together, and they did a brilliant job. And the Museo is very close to Lo Scar…

We all know that this is one of the central ethical tenets of Tarot reading. I mean, would you ask a neighbor to read for you if she's one of the best in the state, yes, but your whole town's going to be abuzz with your deepest secrets before sundown? For you tho, is this 100% sacrosanct, never to be violated under any circumstance at all? Or do you think there are a few situations which would warrant breaking your silence? Which would these be? Have you yourself divulged the contents of a reading to another party without the querent's express permission? Why?

Hi all - am very new to this forum so let me know if this is the wrong place to post this question My question was "what was a reason why (person 1) and I did not work out?" and the card I pulled was the Sun Could anyone share their insight on this? The only thing I could think of was that maybe there was too much too soon? But I'd love other opinions

I’ve gotten this card a lot for a new relationship. There were some issues about a girl involved and him lying about it.. but 9 of swords reversed now show up in retrospect. There are other cards that I don’t think look all good. But in your experience is 9 of swords RX about worries going away and happier times? Or is it just ignoring something and pretend it’s not a problem when you feel deep down something isn’t right..? Or excessive worries that you can’t feally let go of? The old girl said something about the guy that I think is true, but I wonder if the new girl tries to ignore it rather believing his half truths..

Hi everyone. :) I am just wondering, how do you keep your cards, store them safely? Usually, I keep the decks in a wooden box individually. I purchase the boxes from an art market vendor. The boxes are plain with a small mechanical lock. Then I carve the name of the deck on the box (so I know which deck is being stored and I don't have to open each box to get the deck that I search for). How about you?

Have you ever tried to read the Tarot while you were either drunk or high on drugs? How was it overall? How did it feel like? Were the results accurate? I've never tried doing it drunk and I've never done drugs, so I'm very much curious about the experiences of those who explored the cards while under the influence of either (or even both).
