Tarot Talk & Technique

Hi everyone, I just wonder whether is it normal to talk to your own card when you read for yourself? I just started learning to read tarot (for myself mainly) earlier this year, and usually I write my observation through writing. But writing sometimes tiring, and just a several weeks ago I started to talk through it and have a speech to text app to also record my reading. But at times I feel silly, or afraid whether I am going crazy as I talk to myself (and tarot card) 😆 because I read tarot almost everyday (for a daily pull or a 3 card pull), also I work hybrid so I have time to read tarot at my home even when I'm working. I remember back in the 90s that I spent a lot of time on the alt.tarot usenet group and as I'm trying to piece together my broken history with the cards, I would love to be able to dig up my old posts and comments... However, I can find only 2 under my name on Google's archive. I'm sure I wrote many more and would love to get hold of them, especially a run-in with the infamous J Karlin... Can anyone suggest other ways to dig up my not-so-sordid past?

I wasn’t sure where exactly to post this but I want to thank the people who reached out to me recently via Direct Message as well as the kind responses on my last post. I just want to say, ykno we’re all like this big family that helps each other in times of need or for casual talk or whatever. I am reading a lot about tarot and the cards and one thing I have noticed is that in certain books or websites you will get a different meaning to the cards. For example, I did a three card reading on a situation in my life: A friendship I ended. That moment in which you are doing a prediction reading for a friend and you see yourself in the damn cards, doing stuff in the future...stuff that you WERE thinking of doing, but still not sure about it. Hello, I was wondering how others read Oracle or Tarot decks with Chakras Cards ? Do you keep the Chakra Cards in the deck or do you separate the Chakra Cards? I just purchased the Connected and Free Oracle deck and it has 8 Chakra Cards. I have separated the Chakras Cards and use it to understand the energy surrounding the person or question and then I pull a tarot card to clarify the Chakra card. I would love to know how others use decks like the Psychic Tarot by John Holland and the Connected and Free Oracle by Inner Hue?

Hi you guys, I use Rider Waite Tarot. I am REALLY unhappy with the current career path i have chosen (i am still in university, but internships showed me it was the wrong choice). I am looking for something new for ages now. I found a vocational training option that i believe would suit me very well. And i pulled one card. I asked if this was a good option. In the Reading for Those in the Public Eye thread I mentioned that I had to reframe questions like "Does Johnny love me?" so I am not invading one's privacy. Hello fellow TTM-ers, I have always wondered about the tarot cards and their meanings, and how, whoever decided the meaning or designed the cards ended up with associating these keywords to their respective cards? Sometimes it feels very random. For example, Strength: The strength cards means courage and determination BUT it also means patience. Hi all I see that there's many techniques and ways to shuffle. This is how I do it, it's worked for me, but I just want to check what you think - if thats okay. I shuffle, I get a feeling of energy. I then pass my cards to the person I'm reading for. They shuffle and spread cards out like a fan. They then pick by running their hand over. Does this sound okay? I was reading that I should pick the cards for them. Also, the reverse cards are reverse to the person, not me. If they pick out the sun card reversed, i dont turn it round and make it upright. Last night I realized I only had 77 cards in my RWS deck instead of 78. I went through all my cards and figured out the four of cups is missing. i have no idea when I lost the card. I looked for it in places I thought it could be, but I couldn’t find it. What should I do? This is the main deck I use for readings. It’s an old friend, and I certainly don’t want to get rid of it. Should i purchase an identical deck and just replace the missing card? This is so terrible. I don’t know what to do.
