I am curious how the energy works in the cards when you are reading for someone else and you are the one doing the shuffling. How does the energy of that person work? Would it not be your energy or do you think about what the person is asking as you are shuffling the deck? I know this might sound ridiculous but it is something that I am a little confused about as a beginner?

Can anyone point me to a resource that includes the sigils on this card? I've had a bit of an internet search, and while I've found various planetary and alchemical symbols that seem somewhat similar, nothing that has these specifically. Thanks! (it's the one on the light green door I'm particularly interested in, though I assume they're all from the same source). I wonder if the artist has invented their own variations? The guidebook doesn't provide any interpretation to them. (The deck has a very general fairytale theme and seems to draw freely on a range of traditions). Mods, wasn't sure where to ask this, apologies if it's the wrong subforum.

As per the title. I'm feeling Tower today ... letting go of a dream. Destruction of a foundation. Tearing down something I tried to build. Changes. Ketu entering my H4 and going to transit my Moon soon. Yet no Tower. I'm stalked by other cards. I guess maybe the situation isn't as extreme ... like the other stalker cards are important issues and my own personal tower feeling is just overly dramatic by comparison. I dunno. I sometimes get clients who read for themselves and they want to know why they got Tower and 10 swords and I didn't. With such a client I say, it's not as bad as you fear. These cards show it's not so very…

My reading have been inconsistent. I am getting different results for the same questions. I will get the same results for several hours and than it will change. Does this mean someone changing the outcomes through black magic?

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone knows some good tarot workshops or courses, especially in UK? I could get a book I suppose, but reading is difficult for me as I tend to lose focus very quickly (although if you do have book recommendations, post them here!). Thanks :)

Hi fellow forum-ers, I have been on this journey of discovering my own technique to read tarot and this topic is a very interesting one for me. Initially when I was learning how to read the cards, I was able to catch up the upright meanings very quickly and they all made a lot of sense to me. However, when I started reading reversals, things just confused me and I could not make out what was what. After a lot of trials I decided to not read reversals anymore. But that makes me think if I am missing out on any messages from my spirit guide. Apart from this, I also want an insight on other readers techniques and practice of …

Hello hello! I was recently told about the 'pace' of the cards. For example Chariot is a fast moving card, meaning any event/idea/thought that I am asking about will happen at a very fast pace, while some have been known to be slow paced cards meaning an event/idea/thought will be executed at a very slow pace. How do you figure out the movement or speed of a card? Is it pre-decided like the meanings of all cards or do we extract the 'speed' factor by reading the imagery on the card? How do I go about this?

Hello fellow TTM-ers, I have always wondered about the tarot cards and their meanings, and how, whoever decided the meaning or designed the cards ended up with associating these keywords to their respective cards? Sometimes it feels very random. For example, Strength: The strength cards means courage and determination BUT it also means patience. Patience is such a contradictory word to 'courage' or 'determination' and every 'Strength' itself. I see 'patience' as a PATH of achieving strength but not 'Strength' itself. Lovers: This card means everything you can imagine around the word 'Lovers'. It is a very positive card th…

Hello dear Tarot friends, First of all ... definitions. STALKER CARDS are cards that repeat across two or more spreads. I just threw cards tonight and had to laugh. Of 10 cards I drew for the full moon reading ... 5 of the same cards appeared in tonight's spread. 3 of them in the exact same positions. Reading #1 used Triunfi della Luna. Reading #2 used Lightseers. VERY different decks ... yet they served the same cards. Stalker cards definitely strengthen a message for me. A deep theme. If this is a conversation, they're speaking loud and clear. A card appearing across two spreads is noteworthy ... when it appears in the …

Hello, I realize I've not read personally for quite some time. I'm beyond the phase of needing to do daily or weekly readings for learning and study ... I read professionally for clients fairly often. Yet Tarot is part of my private spiritual practice and I've neglected it lately. I realize part of it is some ambiguous feelings about deck consumerism. Like I get inspiration from Tarot content on media or this forum ... but I also get a lot of temptation to buy new decks. I feel my deck collection is a good size and I don't want the temptation toward consumerism. So i've avoided Tarot content ... thus avoiding consumerism ..…

I feel very uncomfortable with reading the tarot for people so much so that I freeze, I mean, I literally freeze. I know the meanings and could say them, but something inside of my freezes up. Especially if they seem sceptical. I can talk in front of people just fine until it comes to this. I can't reven ead the cards for people because of this. I can do it if I'write the reading, but I know most people want their cards read by chat or zoom now.Has this ever happened to you? What did you do?

Hello friends, how are you? Do you usually play with the concrete meanings of each arcane? I like to create a word bank for each one of them, and exercise my ability to associate meanings to not-so-obvious events. Here are some (I use RWS): Hermit: download. Ace of Wands: like a post. 4 of Wands: Carnaval. 9 of Swords: night skincare. 10 of Swords: acupuncture. 3 of Swords: surgery. 7 of Pentacles: Christmas tree. 6 of Swords: cruise ship. 8 of Pentacles: bank payment slip, installment, financing. 8 of Cups: trekking, backpacking. Tower: home renovations Strenght: Pets Care. Any to share?

What a great, intense weekend of tarot! It was amazing! There were 78 (no kidding!) attendees and 4 presenters. The presentations were based on tarot and the brain, natural biases, and Rachel Pollack. There was a nice display with her Shining Tribe deck and some beautiful quote cards we could pull from to receive a special message from Rachel. The actual service is later today, Wednesday July 19. On Friday night Mary Greer opened the event with a Tarot Circle that is a reading version of speed dating. Very cool way to a) meet other attendees and b) play a tarot activity that proves anyone can read the cards without knowing anything about tarot. There …

Curious to know what card reoccurs for everyone regarding love. For me it's 8 of wands. It's confusing though because I either get it as reversed or upright.

Just wondering whether you should be in a particular state of mind while doing a tarot card spread? Is it better to be calm and relaxed? What if your emotions are heightened?

I am a newbie in this area and Tarot cards and Tarot reading intrigues me greatly. I have collected so many decks already. But I don't think I am very intuitive. Some pictures speak to me but some absolutely don't. Like the King card of all the four suits seem no different to me from each other. They seem to me like they have the same expression on their face. And what else am I looking into these cards to see what they are saying? I was looking at doing one of online tarot classes and I read someone commenting that "if your tarot reader tells you that they got into tarot reading after doing one of these classes, then you turn around and run" and that comment kind of hav…

I am frequently recreating a reading in a word programming document for a personal record or to send to a client. I always do this by hand, although I have created some of my own templates. I'm just wondering if a program exists that displays different spreads, i.e. a Celtic Cross spread. Then you can import and slap in your own cards? Having set decks in a program just would not work for me. I would want to import my own. I have many many scanned images of many many decks. The decks that I use are a fairly eclectic mix so I would not find them in a program that included various decks. Thanks for your help!

It seems to me there are many ways to choose a significator. I used to choose by identifying with a card, which was the Princess of Cups but these days I feel more like the Princess of Swords. However, I don't really think about it or use it in any readings, and I feel that different cards can draw out different parts of me (or others) in each reading. What do you do? I am not sure if this is the right section for this but I have been having this problem for quite a while and need help. I have been feeling disconnected from my cards lately. Every time I touch them, I feel like something is not quite right. It is like a I sense another energy on the cards. As if someone else has been reading with my cards. I knew some people allow others to use their cards and they are fine after using them. Is it possible that if someone is using m cards, for me to feel their energy while using it or could it be something else. This feeling of disconnect has also caused me to not be able to read as well as before. Sometimes, I…

Hello everyone, I am still new to tarot (have been learning it for 1.5 year). It seems that my emotions or personal biases will affect the cards I draw or the way I will interpret the cards. For example, when I am in a bad mood, I always pick the bad cards (like Tower, Death). Do you guys have any techniques that I can avoid these situations?

Moonlight is a free web-based space to read tarot cards! You can also have a virtual room for up to 6 people where you can chat with video and audio. Years ago I had Orphalese, a desktop program, to read with virtual cards, but Moonlight has been a joy to discover. It comes preloaded with different decks, you can use a pen to draw on the workspace, use premade spreads or use your own spreads, etc... Is there any rule or good practices to observe when laying down clarification cards? If a clarification is sought for one card, must clarifications cards also be pulled for others in the spread? Is there any risk of misinterpretation when pulling clarification cards when messages of the original card/cards don't seem to match the question, perhaps for other reasons (e.g. wrong energies, not being familiar with card meanings as I'm relatively new to tarot)?

I'm hoping someone will be able to jog my memory. Several years ago I was taking Tarot lessons via mail with an organization that was well-known for Tarot and magical practices. But, as is my often scatterbrained manner, I can't remember who the heck it was. I tried going through my old Tarot notes, but I can't find the lessons either. Does anyone have any idea who it might have been? I'm pretty sure they were based in the US and it was not the ATA. I remember that the lessons I got were typewritten (I think) and were heavily magically slanted. Each lesson required me to write fairly detailed answered and required a good deal of thought and reflection.

Hello everyone; I often had these requests while practicing with strangers and friends. At first, when I was asked to do a general reading, I used a specific spread that explored the querent's current energy, obstacles, and guidance. However, as my practice evolved, I decided to do something more spontaneous and, therefore, less structured. I was thinking of beginning each general reading with a question like "What is something important in the querent life that currently needs some attention?" and then moving forward with the reading spontaneously. How do you usually proceed in these situations?
