Long time no post from me, but that doesn't mean that I don't think about Tarot. On the contrary, I'm gearing up to make a full inventory of my collection very soon. In light of this - and also as a result of my recently discovered interest in puppet-making and puppet theatre - I'm turning my mind to the work of Elisabetta Cassari. Incidentally, Cassari had an interest in puppet theatre, as per this Manteia article https://www.arnellart.com/manteia/articles/ar01-cassari.htm, and made puppets (?). They also feature in her Tarot drawings. I gather she published three decks:`Solleone Tarot` (1983), `Gli Arcani di Elisabetta` (1986) and `Future Solleone Tarot` (1987). And she…

Chialing, who used to be baby_dream on ebay, still has a few copies of this wonderfully fun deck she could sell to anyone who loves cats and doesn't have it. There is a review on youtube. From tarotgarden: I love mine.... I can put anyone interested in touch.

Hi, guys! (I haven't been here in ages, but I've lately been getting slowly back into deck collection, and this deck summoned me. Hope you're all doing well!) This is Les Fleurs du Mal tarot listed at Tarot Garden. Does anyone have any information about this deck? The Tarot Garden has no information on the artist, no information at all other than this one photo. There's absolutely nothing I can find about it online, apart from a listing at Adam McLean's website that says it's a Taiwanese deck. After digging around, I also managed to find this cached Pinterest thumbnail which shows a few more cards from the deck: …

Being a bit computer nerdy (yes, I admit it) I decided to create an Access database for my Tarot decks. As part of that, I have data fields for creator, artist, publisher, year, country of manufacture, etc. All working well until this "Classic Tarot" learning deck (pics below). Quite an excellent learning deck in my opinion, but rather oddly there is no copyright, no year of publication, no mention of who published it, nothing like that at all. Not on the cards, not on the box, not in the LWB that came with it. And perhaps even more oddly, internet searches have been similarly fruitless. I purchased it too long ago to remember where, so I'm rather at a loss here. A…

I'm not sure I'm in the right section, but I'll give it a go: What do you consider to be the most important quality in a tarot deck? On reflection, the quality of a tarot deck that matters most to me is the possibility of projecting myself into it. The ideal tarot deck is one that everyone can relate to. I'm looking for a tarot that's universal, so to speak. That's why I'm not so keen on photographic tarot decks, or those where the characters are too typical. I prefer images where the characters are schematized. Neutral, in a way. A little ambiguity allows everyone to imagine themselves in the card.

Years ago late one night I was enjoying a drink, smoking, and free-form pulling cards. I accidentally grazed the back of this pack with a lit clove cigarette, permanently burning a blemish on the card. I still love and read with this one. What tarot blunders have damaged your decks unnaturally? Did you keep it your reading rotation? Pictured: Deck of the Bastard from TarotbySeven, LLC. This back is a custom choice and I believe no longer available. This is the standard sized, keyworded first edition. Keywords are both upright and reversed. Share your mishaps -- I cannot be the only one with a few tarot regrets.

I am looking for a mini tarot deck that I could use on the road . My only issue I am super picky when it comes down to tarot cards . I searched for my first for more then a year and it was pure luck because I got fantastic deal . But now I need a smaller deck to put in my bag and don`t know where to start . My regular deck is Mary EL tarot ,it is great ,but it is too big to use on the road

Do you think that there are decks that are more suitable for one card draws than other decks? Or is it all on the reader? I´m just thinking!🤔

I didn't want to put this in the "should I buy it?" thread because I already did buy it, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has bought it and what they think of it. I don't like great big decks with thick cardboard-y cards but I just noticed in the description when I was looking at it online a little while ago that it says something about larger cards, so I'm hoping they're not too big or cardboard-y. It's on its way here and will be here tomorrow so I'll deal with it whatever it's like, of course, but I'd still like to see some comments on it.

If you are interested in this - out of stock - set from the 1980ies eraly 90ies WHERE the Author prohecies ... what is ahppening NOW in Israel gaza ww3 ... yearh ... then the gallery is here (most of them).. I'll happily teach people how to use them. It's a BIT more complicated than the New age stuff.! - it's the cloesets tot eh real Deal Agrippa's Grimoire in modern version. if used correctly. It takes months?!, Years or Decades. The game of Tarok is of uncertain origin. It is probably at least 600 years old, but the identification with the Egyptian deity Thoth and similar references to "millennia-old traditions" are taken out of the air. Its "gallery of char…

I just watched a Wizarding Trunk unboxing by Cherry Wallis and one item inside was a Tarot deck, labeled The Seer's Inner Eye Tarot. It looks very much like the modern RWS-type (not exactly) but all in foiling (or similar color) on a dark card background, and gold edges. From the brief flip she gave them, I want one! But I pulled up Wizarding Trunk and they don't have it on their website, at least not yet. Has anyone else come across this yet?

I wanted to post a picture as an exemplar, but I guess I'm limited to text, but that will work as well. If any of you have never had the opportunity to hand draw a Tarot set, I would highly recommend the project for two main reasons: 1- the sheer magic of hand drawing the arcanes is phenominal. 2- you quickly realize that store bought Tarot sets have countless printing and symbol errors. A lot of the commercial Tarot sets, when looked at with scrutiny, fall short in quality control and that is disappointing. Has anyone on this forum had this experience?

Right now, a very interesting hashtag is making the rounds on TaroTube: #editorspickdecks. I have watched some of the videos with this hashtag, not all of them, and I think we can extend the idea to the written word and give the word to those of us who don't have a YouTube platform. You can, of course, pick and choose what kind of deck you recommend - you don't have to answer all 15 questions. But this might be an interesting starting point for people looking for deck recommendations. If enough people participate and give their answers, I'll turn it into a list with links, if that's okay. Why should YouTube have all the fun? The prompts …

Need is definitely in quotes because I have 367 decks. 😼 Right now one of them is the newish Lo Scarabeo Once Upon a Time Tarot. It's ok. Because I'm an old fogie, I'm not enamored of the fantasy artwork, but I thought I'd give it a try for the theme. Well, it has tales for the majors, not all of which I'm familiar with, and just fantasy creatures for the minors, including courts (dragons, mermaids, fairies, mushroom cap people). On the plus side, the Magician is Puss in Boots. So I need recommendations for a fairytale deck I'd like better. I've had Lisa Hunt's Fairy Tale Tarot and Isha Lerner's Inner Child Cards, both years ago. I seem to not be …

Have YOU ever gotten or seen a deck that viscerally repelled you? I don't mean just "nah, it didn't resonate". I mean like, "Eww. Gross, Get it away from me!" To explain: I recently got sent a deck by mistake. I tired to return it to the vendor but they never sent the return postage label -- so I finally just opened the package to have a look. It's the Tarot Ocsuro. While I appreciated some of the artwork, the deck itself repulsed me. I found myself with a visceral negative reaction to some of the motifs the artist used [WHY the criss-cross bandages over nipples???] I understand the deck is supposed to be a Shadow deck. I got no prob…

I'm really loving this deck. It's bridge sized (you can do small draws in your hand, like in the photo.) It's different: there are only 64 cards. There are some changes to the Majors: the Tower is strong and undamaged, the Hanged Man is hung by the neck, there's a Ship card, etc. You can see the differences here and here. And there's a wonderful little book to learn from: Arianna Montalto's Tarocco Siciliano. Yes, it's in Italian. But we have Google Lens these days! You don't even have to type in text, just point your phone at a page: See how purely cartomantic the meanings are? No navel gazing, no cliches, no new age BS. Everything is 100% useful a…

Recently I got this old deck from 1970s. I used to have the deck about 15 year ago. In fact they were so cheap and abundant for sale, I had a few of them. But one day, I sold all of them because they didn't speak to me very well I felt. I didn't have the deck for at least 10+ years. Recently, I suddenly missed the deck, and wanted to read with it. I got one in good price, and it arrived a few days ago. It was like feeling of reuniting with an old friend whom I haven't seen for long time. Which deck was it? It was the SWISS 1JJ deck. It seems to be reading and speaking to me a lot better this time. I put it on the desk with the other …

Sort of like your valedictory deck advice to the readers of these forums. It can be a deck you find very much essential to any Tarot collection, one which you found personally indispensable, or just one that you've fallen utterly in love with, which has been your most trusted companion for quite some time. For me it would be the Morgan Greer 😛

I recently got a Lo Scarabeo Anima Antiqua deck that I was excited to use, but a little information insert says that it has "not been treated with chemical varnish, so may not be suitable for shuffling." What does this mean? Can I never shuffle my new deck without fear of damage?! This is the only information I've found, which did not prove helpful: https://www.cultoftarotforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=813
