After reading this article (thanks CharlotteK :D ), I was struck with the inspiration for a new spread... Invite Your Shadow To Tea **********7(T) *****9(T)******8(T) 1(B)*****3(M)*****2(T) *****6(B)******5(B) **********4(B) 1. The Invited Shadow - this card can be self chosen or you can take from the base of the deck and let the cards decide. This card will tell you a bit about what you need to deal with. 2. The Querent - this card can also be self chosen or you can take from the top of the deck and let the cards decide. This card will show where you are right now. 3. Anybody know of any spreads that are good to do on the New Moon of your astrological sign?

I just thought I'd share a deck randomizing technique I discovered tonight when using my Gold Foil deck. I don't know where to I'd had quite a long day because we have guests for the weekend. I was tired and I spilled some water on the floor. After cleaning the water up I went about my day for a couple more hours. Then----horror stricken---I noticed that the bag with my Star deck had been lying on the floor where I didn't see it and all the cards were totally saturated . I picked it up but it may not be salvageable. Good thing I have another one packed away. , Then I took out my Gold Foil deck and sat down to riffle the Gold Foil a few times, but when I di…

This is a spread that I designed for deep personal exploration. It has the shape of a standard Celtic Cross, but the order and the positions are quite different. Card number 6 can be placed on top of number 5 (so it's crossing) or next to it. If you use reversed cards then any reversed cards would highlight areas that are of specific interest and that need extra attention (it might indicate blockages but it can also represent high-energy areas where lots of things are going on right now). 2 10 3 5/6 4 9 1 8 7 1: Blood (Fire) 2: Sweat (Earth) 3: Tears (Water) 4: Beliefs (Air) 5: Hopes 6: …

Darkness / Dismemberment / Brokenness. What have you lost? What are you grieving? What is broken within you? (If you get a positive card in this position, you might want to read its shadow side or reversed meaning.) Promise / Rebirth of the Sun / Renewal. What is the promise of renewal that will come with the dawn of Winter Solstice? (Likewise, if you get a negative or reversed card in this position, you might want to read its more positive meaning.) Integration of Dark and Light. How do the darkness and the dawn intertwine? What wisdom do they create together? Gift of the Darkness / Remember. What is the gift of the broken time, hidden in…

Looking for a simplified alternative to ArwenNightstar's splendid Cinderella’s Victim Spread for a Circle of Stones reading exchange back in now defunct AT, I came up with this one. Disney's Cinderella movies are not exactly my favorite versions of the tale by any stretch, but you can't get any simpler without betraying the story. I tried to match that, and here's the result. I hope you guys like it. The Super Simplified Disney Cinderella Spread (by moi) *********4********* *****2******3****** *********1********* 1. Lady Tremaine: The main obstacle we are facing at the moment in our lives. 2. The Ball: The main goal or dream we have right now.…

A close relative is married to someone with a truly bad case of NPD, probably with sociopathy involved. Recently, a hard limit was reached, and I need to find a solution on how to keep the venom that that person exudes AWAY from me and my family, AND remain in contact with the close relative. (Preferably, I’d just meet up with the relative, and go total no contact with the NPD partner — but as it tends to be with families and people involved, this problem is a lot more complex than that!) So, I’m looking for a solution-oriented spread that can deal with ”a situation filled with complicated obstacles,” and find a way over under through…

We often talk about the Devil as showing temptation when it appears in a reading, and that can entail a moral dilemma for the querent. I created a spread to get at the heart of such situations. https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2018/02/19/the-devil-made-me-do-it-moral-dilemma-spread/

Hi I am a beginner and have s question about spreads, i like the horseshoe spread but have discovered that different people assign different meanings to each card position. Does this matter? Should I just go with my gut feeling? And how do you choose which spreads to use? Thanks!

I am new here so I hope this is the right forum to post this in. On New Year's Eve I wanted to do a spread to map out the energies of the upcoming year. Could anyone suggest their favorite new year spreads? I would love to see all of the different ones you all know and come up with!

This was a spread that was posted to A.T. quite a few years ago. I don't recall having seen Isthmus Nekoi posting in those last weeks, so I'm not sure that they even know about the shutdown. I used this spread for a friend's reading this morning and it worked great. I wrote that the original post said this was "a spread for material things like $, health and suchlike. It's in the shape of the pentacle, symbol of the material." I used it because my friend is a budding Wiccan, and it felt the shape was a good fit for him. Isthmus Nekoi, if you pop in here and happen to see this, I really appreciate how well this spread works for readings, and not just about material thin…

Hi everyone! I just thought I would share this spread that I created a little while ago when doing a life goals reading for myself. The cards are laid out like this: 9***5*****6***10 1*****2 3*****4 11**7*****8***12 It can be moderated as needed, but as I was asking the question, I felt intuitively that there would be 4 goals for me, so I laid them out as above. Cards 1-4 (or however many you would like) represent your life goals (so card #1 in this spread can be referred to as goal #1). Cards 5-8 represent the challenges that you will face in accomplishing each goal (so for example, card #5 in this spread is the challenge to goal #1, and car…

Here is another simple (at least for me) decision-making spread that uses one of my favorite spread-design techniques: "facing" of a central focus card to help target the best course of action. Because I try to post something new every day in my blog, falling back on spread creation is an easy way out so I don't repeat myself (at least not too much). https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2019/06/29/the-speed-bump-and-pothole-decision-making-spread/

Hi everyone, I've been on Tarotsphere lately, but I was on Aeclectic for a few years before that. I've just posted a new spread that I wrote on Tarotsphere, and I was hoping I could get some feedback from you as well. Please let me know what you think. ** The Metronome and the Pendulum are both spreads that look back, to provide details and clarity to events and time periods already past. These periods might have been confusing at the time, or else there was simply no opportunity for reflection, and all you could do then was react. Now, having moved on, you have the knowledge and hindsight to examine these events. The Metronome and the Pendulum are effectivel…

Hey everyone! Hoping for some good insight here. A friend and I recently did self-readings with a 4-card spread using the Johari Window, y'know, for fun: And without getting into extreme detail, I was very intrigued by the cards we drew for our Unknown quadrant (for mine I drew Judgement). Specifically because they are unknown, and I'd like to know more, I thought a follow up spread was needed to get more detail, because out of all the cards drawn, that was the one I had the most trouble interpreting. So I guess what I'm asking for is suggestions of designations I could use to create a follow up spread. What I have so far is "How d…

Hiya, I used to have a copy of the collins gem tarot guide that I lost. It had an in depth lifetime spread that had sets of 3 cards per area/topic, may have been 21 cards. it was a helpful spread to use when you were reading for someone for the first time as it gave them points that they were able to recognize from their lives. ive scoured the internet trying to find it or something remotely similar. Before I resort to buying the book I figured I’d check if anyone could help. thanks!

Joanna Colbert, creator of the Gaian Tarot and the Herbcrafter's Tarot, posted this spread on Instagram and I thought it was really lovely and wanted to share it. She mentions she was inspired to create this spread by an essay by Arundhati Roy. A Tarot Spread for the Pandemic Portal Time :: 1. What do I most need to know about this collective moment — this “portal”? :: :: 2. What can I do to contribute to the wholeness and health of the collective? :: :: 3. How can I strengthen my own resilience? :: :: 4. What am I not seeing? (Pull a card from the bottom of the deck.) :: :: 5. What does Spirit most want me to know about my personal path at…

Hi guys! I created a spread last year, and for now, I'm the only one having used it. It would be nice if some of you could use it and tell me if it worked well! I called it the "Druidcraft Spread", because my spiritual practice is Druidcraft, a concept elaborated by Philip Carr-Gomm, the one that wrote the book Druidcraft in 2002, and also the Druidcraft Tarot in 2004. Simplicicly, Druidcraft is the practice of modern Druidry and Witchcraft/Wicca. I created the spread for deepening my spirituality by focusing on the three Celtic Realms (Druidry) and the five Directions/Elements (Witchcraft). This spread can be very simple, and majorly complex depending on how we loo…

This is a spread I use quite often both for myself and others. It can be used for various specific questions or just a general sense which is probably why I have never come up with a name. It is a larger spread at eight cards which is odd because I am three person (3 cards or sets of 3). I hope this spread works for people here as well as it has worked for me over the years. Past (upper left): Represents the past Present (upper right): Represents the present Middle Row: Three advice cards Outcome (bottom middle): Where you will be after heeding (or not) the advice cards. What are you trying to achieve (Bottom row to the right …

Hi everyone! I’m fairly new to tarot reading. So I received this 3 card reading as I asked “How does this person feel currently about a recent separation in a love connection”. I was rather shocked at how direct the message of the first card which came flying out from the Angel Tarot deck by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine. I then used my Rider-Waite tarot deck, and The Lovers and The Magician flew out together and at the same time. I would be forever grateful to hear your perspectives on the Lovers and the Magician?? Thanks!
