This is the ideal place to discuss the differences in card order too. For example, a comparison between how one might interpret RIDER + MOON, vs MOON + RIDER. Do the Stars represent electricity and if so, why? What's the reasoning behind it? Has anyone had any personal association with this meaning in the cards?

Should one take into account the facing direction of the main significators? I seem to remember that this is only relevant in Kipper but can't access my other books because they are all packed. If the Man has his back turned and is facing away into the distance to the right of a card, should extra weight be placed on this? Or should one simply read the combo as it is?

I'm new to the study of Lenormand, and I've spent a fair bit of time studying over the past few weeks, but it's obviously all still very new to me and the nuance of the cards isn't always clear to me. I also struggle because I'm fairly experienced with the tarot by now so feel tempted to carry that way of reading the cards into the Lenormand. I've just started an exercise, going through each card, writing down what they could mean. I wondered if Rider could represent a police officer. I confess this is due to the image on the card reminding me of the recent mounted police involved in protests here in Australia, which is tarotising somewhat. If not the Rider, who would you use to represent a police officer?

Lets talk a bit about the Garden please, I am having a difficulty to understand this card, From what I read and have experienced till now, is about public spaces, communities, social networks, gatherings, places where you gather people physically or digitally, also from my readings I understand that it has to do in general with social environments and that it is a card that is a bit neutral until it is modified but other cards. What they do (deal with the surrounding circumstances in their own unique ways) For example: Whip- Its purpose is to correct and revise Flowers - Its purpose is to arrange agreements Fish - Its purpose is to "lubricate", facilitating exchanges. In my classic Lenormands, card #11 is the Whip. In German decks sometimes it's the Rod. In my newer French deck it's a broom. In some decks it's both a broom and a whip. With the Jack of Clubs association, the card will always be somewhat malefic. We understand the essence of the card remains the same. Yet I feel that the Broom image emphasizes the repetitive nature of the card whereas decks which show a whip or rod reinforce the argumentative or aggressive nature of the card. I've not read enough LN to prove or disprove this theory. What do you think? Have you noticed #11 is slightly modified by which deck and which image it uses?

Hello, everyone. When using the Book card, in your readings, are the pages or the spine of the emblem used to represent hidden, unknown information? I remember that I read about both viewpoints. This got me confused.

Snake is considered a malefic card. It refers purely to deceit and similar sinister intentions in the original PL instructions. From there we have many associations with a femme fatale / scheming female. I've had Snake show up very differently [so far]. Reference to female doctors and nurses. These aren't scheming femmes fatales ... yet one seeks medical assistance in malefic situations [sickness or injury] so there is a malefic aspect to the situation, but not the woman. So there is this guy from a very past story, that appeared recently and we started something, when we met he told me that he broke up from his relationship and moved from her house, I didn't ask many things, mistake, but it sounded like he moved out for some time now and the relationship was on the exit but they kept "sucking" on it. The standard meanings of Fish have to do with cashflow. From the PL instructions: The Fishes if near the Person point to the acquisition of large fortune by marine enterprises and to a series of successful undertakings; if distant they indicate the failure of any speculation, no matter how well projected or planned. In health readings Fish is normally given as: urinary system, alcoholism, water retention. Hello everyone 🙂 I am just beggining to try learning Lenormand. I am reading the Treppner course and also Lenormand thirty six cards (or as you sometimes call it here, Andy's book). I haven't finished either, so I still have several questions. I have been doing 3 cards and 5 cards readings, and I'm still not sure if I am doing it well, though often the reading seems to make sense. Then I got "bold" and decided to try a GT. In the process of getting more interested in the Lenormand system these days, I was looking at quite a lot of decks. As I understand it so far, the actual images don't really matter that much, since the reading is based on the symbol and the meanings it does carry - but there are some aspects, especially direction, that do seem to matter. Where do the Gentleman and Lady face, which direction does the Rider move, what side of the Coffin is covered, where does the blade of the Scythe point... and which side of the Clouds is darker and which is lighter. Lately I’ve been working more with card directions, but a few are still unclear to me. Any help would be deeply appreciated. 1) What does the Snake’s head vs. its tail signify? I guess the tail is the source of the treachery and the head points at what’s she’s biting? But I’m not sure. 2) The Mountain. I am still very new to Lenormand and am probably overlooking something. I have no idea what to do with these cards when they show up in a spread. I have read that they are supposed to signify the querent or someone in the querent's life, but I am having trouble getting past the binary genderedness. All of the other cards have keywords I can work with like strength and message, but if these two have useful keywords, I have not figured them out, so when these cards are in combinations, I can't read them. I saw a person interpret the fish as a soulmate in a relationship reading. Does anyone here do that, if so why? I also saw the anchor being interpreted as an open relationship. I'm trying to understand why cause it's not logical to me. I would love your thoughts on this!

Most texts give the meaning that Mice + Mountain = long-term anxieties or long-term stress and losses. Sutton says specifically something along the lines of the mice don't eat the mountain to mean that the double-negative of these two cards remains negatiive. Yet Treppner gives this combination as: Obstacles dissolve. I recently had Mice + Mountain appear in a daily draw where it applied to 2 different situations [one financial, one personal]. In the financial situation, the obstacles dissolved. In the personal, not so much. BOTH were true. Hmmm. I don't know what to make of this.

Hi everyone I have always doubt the meaning of these 2 cards... I don't really understand their purpose. I mean, lets say my question is if a boy likes me, and Lady is in the spread. Does that represent me? Is the spread telling me Im there? Whats the purpose on that? I already know that Im there... I know its all about context but I feel like these 2, 90% of the time, are useless. Can someone change my mind? Another example... if I ask will I pass an exam...and Man pops up? Whats the purpose?
