Thoth

I read the pdf posted in the purple vs green what is the difference. and without the database samples there is no way to compare. so I saw in some threads there is pictures of the reading,,so why not make a thread,, where we post the thoth we have (if that version hasn't been posted yet ). that will be the new comparision. !

I just got the Zillich in a tin as part of a trade and in going through it, I find that it's Thoth-based. Or at least, it looks that way to me. If it is, then this will be the first time I've used a Thoth based deck. Does anyone know if I'm right in this? The card titles are Thoth-y. I think i'm really going to get a lot of use out of this deck. I normally don't "do" Thoth, although I do have a pocket version of that deck somewhere. Has anyone else noticed that the insides of Doctor Strange’s Cloak of Levitation look a lot like the back of the Thoth Tarot deck? Do you guys think this is just a coincidence, or do you think the costume designers knew what they were doing? The Thoth system IMHO is one of the Big Three (Rider-Waite Smith, Thoth, and Tarot de Marseille). It has history, I happen to own the book by Akron & Banzhaf and there are meditation “prompts”, it’s deep and complex. Which among the decks inspired by the Thoth do you personally like? How do they read and how often do you work with them? Do they have companion books, and would you recommend them?

I was looking for more info on the Phyllis Seckler's book, The Thoth Tarot, Astrology, & Other Selected Writings when I came across this treasure trove from the Astrum Argenteum site. Apparently, the two discourses The Tarot Trumps of Thoth and Psychology and Thoth Tarot and Astrology which together makeup almost 300 pages of the book are available for free online. That is, all of the In The Continuum journals which contain the series of articles that make up the two sections are available in the Thelema website, so there's no need to worry about copyrights and such as long as you don't plan to make money off them, I think. I have both the Thoth deck that copes in the Purple (Blueish) box as well as the Green box. In the former (& much missed) AT Trading/Selling thread that people would specify whether it was the Purple or Green box. I've never pulled the 2 out and went through the deck seeking a difference in the decks but I wanted to ask… Is there a difference in to 2?

I have spent a lot of time with my RWS deck. And I am now at a point to look more to the Crowley deck. But I am wondering, what are the differences in divination meaning from the cards? Some cards have a different name. But I have the feeling that they are similar in meaning. Is my opinion and feeling correct? Thanks.
