Has anyone read Bill Heidrick's works on the Tarot? He posted them online for free, and I found them quite informative upon browsing some passages. I haven't read all of them tho, so I can't fully vouch for them.

I was wondering if some of you have bought the book: Your tarot court, read any deck with confidence from Ethony Dawn. ( https://www.llewellyn.com/product.php?ean=9780738758657 ) I am wondering if someone of you has this book. The contents look very interesting. My questions are: •Is there something new in this book? •Are there things mentioned in this book about card reading, what you have never seen before? •Is it more focused on the beginner reader, or is there also stuff for the intermediate and advanced reader? •Would you recommend this book? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys! Here you can harvest a few decent Tarot books: Links removed by staff due to copyright issues Put in "Tarot" into the search function and a few more titles come up. I also found a few nice Bird guides and other goodies 🙂 Enjoy 🙂 Staff edit: I know this was a genuine mistake so no worries, I just removed the links.

There are a lot of educational and highly informative Tarot tutorial sites and even documentaries in YouTube. In my forays there however, I noticed that there are channels devoted to monthly Tarot readings for all the different Zodiac signs. Some of them can run a fair bit too and you know that great thought and effort has been expended in producing these. These videos are usually provided by readers who want to advertise their services, I think? So yeah, have you watched any of them? What do you think about them? Did you find them accurate?

Hi all! I started a YouTube channel but haven’t had much time to post anything ... until now! Received my 5 Cent Tarot and love it and wanted to try my hand at an unboxing video. Learned a lot with just this one - first I’m not sure how the quality turned out... not sure if it’s my connection or the upload itself that is not the quality I thought it would be so if someone wouldn’t mind giving me feedback I would welcome it! Also, I took my time when drawing the cards and reading through all the upright and reverse meanings because it was my intent that I wanted to leave the image of the card up for a bit so someone watching could really see it - but it ended u…

I saw something slightly amusing recently - I rewatched 1995's "Hideaway" for the first time in many years. It's a goofy yet entertaining thriller, based on Dean Koontz's book (although Koontz hated it and disowned it, since it turned his grim horror novel into something of an action film). At any rate, there is a scene in which the protagonist visits a medium to try explaining odd visions that he has been experiencing. She senses the presence of a powerful entity about him, and then realizes that there is another presence, sinister and malevolent, following him and quickly closing in. She uses a Tarot deck in the scene, and since "Hideaway" is a US film, there was a…

I'm up-to-date with Outlander, after having binge-watched all the seasons in few months! There is a tarot scene in Season 5, Episode 8 "Famous Last Words". This is set in August 1771, and around the middle of the episode, Marsali cast a tarot card for herself, L'amoureux (The Lover). Then, she do a spread for Roger (who has escaped a hanging, three months earlier). Obviously, the first card to be cast is Le Pendu (The Hanged Man)! Roger freaks out and Marsali leaves... She could have say that the card only means that he needs to look at a situation differently, but they never do that in movies/tv series! My first reaction was to note the episode, s…

I accidentally came upon Lo Scarabeo's 3 part Encyclopedia (Fundamentals/Experience/Compendium). What attracted me was the artwork and the volume I must say *drool*. I like big books and I cannot lie. ☺️ You can get a glimpse from the inside, but not enough to determine wether it's worth it to spend money on. I can imagine since it's published by a publisher specialised in all things tarot that it's not. I haven't seen it on any lists as recommended either. Does somebody have a copy?

Has anybody played The Arcana: A Mystic Romance game before? It looks mighty interesting. The FAQ says that it is "a fantasy/romance visual novel for iOS & Android. You, the player, are an apprentice magician with a gift for fortune-telling. Left in possession of an unusually enchanted Tarot deck, you must navigate intrigue, murder, magic… and perhaps a few saucy encounters."

I got the idea for this poll from the topic found here: https://www.thetarotforum.com/talking-tarot/when-a-deck-won't-comply/ I thought some of the comments were very interesting and thought a poll would be fun. I'm putting it in this section because we can't make polls in the main Talking Tarot section. ;) You can vote for 2 choices but both votes must be made at once. You can't go back and try to make the second vote, they must be done on the one and only time you vote. Have fun everyone!

Hello everyone, I am just curious what books you read to improve your Tarot Reading Skill? I, myself learn a lot from Seventy Degree of Wisdom from the life philosophy and psychology aspects. However, I am looking for more information about interpretation in daily life / practical basis. Sometimes the meaning of the cards does not make sense to the heart of the matter of daily life. Thanks.

I just finished watching the first season of the British crime series called Cooper & Fry. It is based on the books by Stephen Booth. Many of the episodes contains British folk lore, and there is also a character (the mother of police officer Ben Cooper) who does multiple tarot readings which tie into the cases that the polices are investigating. I really enjoyed this series and I feel like the episodes kept getting better and better. In the beginning I was a bit unsure about the interpretations that was given about some of the cards, but as time went on, I could see that they had put effort into understanding tarot and doing something clever with it. I also found t…

Over the years, I've read a great many books about tarot, but only a few of them have I actually kept. For those who use the same technique of keeping the collection pared down to only the ones that for you have been the best, what is on your tarot shelf? ETA: Or, if you are someone who keeps everything, which books, in all honesty, are the ones that had the greatest impact on you and are your most treasured? My shelf contains (ie, these are the ones I kept because they are my most treasured): Ben-Dov, Yoav. The Open Reading. CreateSpace, 2011. Calvino, Italo. The Castle of Cross Destinies. In another thread a member suggested to me that I use an app to read Tarot while I live at my parents since they don't allow the cards in their house. I started looking up various apps and kept seeing "AI Tarot reader" And suddenly I wasn't sure if this was a good idea anymore lol. Now I will admit, I am a lot more weary of AI or.. distrusting of it than most people are, and I could absolutely be paranoid. But whether or not AI is good, bad, neutral, it still kind of makes me question like... what makes the right cards come out of a deck? And are we sure a computer app can accurately do the same thing? A lot of people won't let others touch their Tarot decks so tha…
