Individual Card Meanings

How would you interpret the moon as an external influence, for example in the celtic cross spread? I've recently gotten it twice in this potition in regards to relationship questions. I know the moon can mean that you might not be seeing things clearly or be delusional about the situation. But as an external influence I'm struggling.

Hi all, newbie here. I have 3 tarot decks, and for some reason the one I am most drawn to is the one that does not have a book to go with it. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for websites or books that I could use to help me get in depth understanding of how to interpret cards properly. I find the thing I am most struggling with is connecting a particular card to a specific topic. For example, The Lovers card - I have become somewhat familiar with how to interpret this in a Relationship spread, but when it comes up in a Financial or Work spread, I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I hope this is the correct forum to post this quest…

How would you interpret this 6 of wands in a relationship context as an outcome? I feel the man is alone, picking up these sticks being handed over to him, he is getting the support but he doesn't seem very happy. It feels like he is getting a grip of the situation. But he does have garland around his body..but should he not be celebrating? It doesn't look like he is enjoying it or is being egoistic. Is he just being content? And the card only shows him, what about the partner? Unlike the RWS, which is about recognition and success, this one seems a bit tricky to me.

Hi all Can anyone tell me the meaning of the 12 stars in the crown on the Empress please? Reading about it, I find different answers, from being connected to the cosmos or the spirit world to being in control of each month of the year but this feels like it is far older than that. If it were the cycle of the year, would it not be 13 moons? Instead of the meaning of joy and vitality I have my own personal meaning associated with this card. This card represents my mental illness, schizophrenia. I’ve found this card always always pops up when doing readings for my illness. Does anyone know why such a positive card can carry such meaning?

This is a card that I struggle with a lot. I know that Hierophant means traditions, marriage and conventional living but I always felt like there is more to this card than that. Can anyone else add to the interpretation of this card? I would like to get a better understanding of it. the hierophant upright would be anything conventional the hierophant reversed would be unconventional life or relationship. Hi, I’m very new to Tarot and this forum. I don’t think I’m breaching any rules in this post as I’m going to give my interpretation on my cards and just ask what people think of my findings? Also, I’d like to discuss 2 different meanings that I’ve read about in connection with the spread. In Lenormand, we have the Dog to show loyalty. Anchor can also show steadfast which is similar. In Tarot we have cards that show betrayal. 10 Swords is the obvious and extreme example. The older versions of Hanged Man reference the punishment for betrayal in Renaissance Italy and thus show disloyalty. Moon, a negative Magician, Devil might all touch upon manipulation and betrayal. Hello, I was wondering how to interpret the "dark side/negative side" of the 2 of Cups. Could it represent lack of comprehension or also feeling unsupported from those you love? Feeling as if they don't empathize with you, although they should or at least you would expect to? Thanks.

Many experience the Three of Swords as a problematic card. I was certainly in this camp for a long time. The RWS version in particular... that image of a heart pierced by three swords is very hard to "unsee," even in spreads where that imagery can be, umm, counterproductive. I have been going back to the basics with tarot lately and started reading this book called the Tarot Primer, which was written by a tarot reader named Deborah (I forget her last name and don't have the book in front of me) who did a reading for me a while back. Hello, This guy seems pretty satisfied and has cups (filled or otherwise) neatly lined up behind him with no other "distraction" around him. I don't grasp the full meaning especially if it shows up 1. as an obstacle or barrier 2. as an advice 3. next step 4. something to leave behind 5. feelings and so on What has been your experience with this card? if you use reversals, then how does that change the meaning for 9 of cups? thanks for your time!

I’ve always been struggling with these two’s meanings and symbolisms. From what I’ve learned so far, the High Priestess means personal mystery, the hidden unconscious part of one’s self; while on the other hand, the Moon represents external mysteries, hidden truths and uncertainties you have to solve outwardly, if that makes sense. I wanted to know if anyone has a deeper (or even more personal) comparisons between these two cards? And, how can we apply their meanings to everyday’s situations in a more practical way?

Hi! I'm doing a study in the Adventurer's Tarot; the deck booklet is extremely sparse and I don't think the definitions are necessarily accurate to the cards. Some cards are specific to this deck, so the above problem paired with an overall lack of information for some of these means I can't figure out better, in-depth meanings for the cards. So, I thought I'd ask you guys- I'm curious to hear other people's thoughts about it, even if it's very DnD oriented ;3

Which major arcana cards you think represent relocation, not just travel (or holidays) but mainly emigration. I would take three: The World, The Star and/or The Chariot. The Moon and the Fool could also signify travel, but mostly holidays rather moving to a different place. I also tend to associate The Star with relocation to a place close to rivers and sees, as long as the Star symbolizes water.

I tend to interpret this card in terms of change and transformation, especially after an ending, or also as something inevitable, as paying taxes for example 😂 What do you think? I looked up the root of the word "fascism" today, and it is "fasces": including the long history of this symbol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasces, which is a bound wood bundle.
