Hello all! There are the Lovers versions where there is a man with two women, and I've seen it interpreted as having to make a choice between them, like between love or money, or between piety or temptation, or simply a love triangle. However, considering the influence of Jewish thought, and of course the influence of Scripture, have any of you come across historical connections of this card with multiple wives (polygyny)? A scene like the old Jewish blessing: "Yahweh make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel." - Ruth 4 The images are, left to right, from the Piedmontese Sol…

My initial thoughts were about gossip. Maybe they are a little too talkative and might not keep to themselves what you tell them. Might not be a good idea to tell them secrets. Any other thoughts?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum. I can't think of anywhere else to post. I don't have a spread. I just want to know the individual card meaning. I know this card means loss of intuition but can it ALSO mean a literal scandal, especially if combined with the moon reversed?

I always get confused on how to read the Moon card. Especially when it comes to a future outlook. I recently pulled the moon surrounded by several typically positive cards. If anybody has experienced similar or has advice on how I can look at this card that would be amazing ❤️

Judgement is one card that really confuses me when it turns up in a reading. To me, it's very similar to justice and I think the imagery really throws me off! (in the RWS deck). Usually all I can think about is judgement day and the bible ect.... I know judgement is about awakening and rebirth but can someone please tell me the main differences between justice and judgement? I have searched online and just end up getting more confused.

I did my reading for how the next week will be. I usually lay down six cards with no positions assigned. Two rows of three cards. The bottom row was 10 of pentacles, death and 10 of cups. Now my question is does death always bring a negative to the other cards? I had a tower event three weeks ago and my life has been up ended and in turmoil ever since. I was hoping that the death card signified an end to that difficult period and that happier times were ahead signified by the two 10s. Or am I to expect another painful ending with the two 10s supporting that?

5 of Sword of Thoth deck says "Defeat". RWS deck has image of a guy grinning at his opponents retreating. I get confused when this card comes up. Does it mean I defeated my opponent? Or did my opponent defeated me? Is it positive or negative card? How do you make of this card, when shows up in the readings?

what your experiences/meanings are with it! I was reading something recently, and it's about math and linguistics and very out of my league (Bertrand Russell), but when I was trying to understand "double negation" I thought of some of the things I read about the fool reversed. I don't even know if this card could be reasonably tied in with that theory, I don't even understand it yet, but it just keeps speaking to me, somehow I think it's beautiful. I have no idea yet if I'm interpreting the theory correctly yet, maybe it'll take some months and I'll come back with "aha!" but I think it's linguistically: "It's not the case that it is not raining." Which reminde…

In various situations (so, not the same one), I have had the page of swords reversed, but in a context that can only be positive (as in, the question was a positive one, as were the clarifying cards, etc.). I know that this generally is a negative card in the reverse, so does anyone else have experience with this, and what did it mean in a positive sense?

If anyone was thinking of making their own deck, I think a great idea for the Devil card would be an apple tree with 10 apples on it and a snake slithering through it and a man and woman standing under it with the woman reaching out and looking up into the tree and the man looking at her. Each are naked of course. They are standing on a black ground. Just a thought. It foes well with the Lovers card.

Hello everyone, this might sound completely weird, but both The Emperor and The Hierophant feel completely off to me to the point where I just remove them from the deck. They are following me, but it seems like I just can't never understand their message for me. Also they're actually the only two cards I struggle with when it comes to remembering their meanings.

Hi everyone, I recently met with a reader in my city for a workshop that was all about the basics of tarot & toward the end of the workshop she pulled a Celtic Cross spread for me so we could apply everything discussed to the reading. One of the cards pulled was the Queen of Wands. I expressed my frustration with this card as I had been pulling her A LOT recently & couldn't figure her out. I really liked her explanation & would love to hear what others have to say about this mysterious lady! We used the Rider-Waite deck. When I said I couldn't figure this particular Queen out (I've most often identified as the Queen of Swords over all o…

Hi all, I was wondering what your thoughts and experiences are regarding the 9 of Wands. I have been working almost exclusively with RWS-inspired decks, and my impression, going by the artwork, was always that of a guy who is pretty defensive and miserable. Dude is exhausted! He looks like he's standing his ground, but he's had it, basically. He looks grumpy and kind of stubborn, and doesn't appear to be having any fun with those wands. This seemed to go with some of the often-used meanings of the card, which also seem to underline this: boundaries,, dedication to a cause, persistence of purpose, defensiveness, holding a line, inflexibility, I've …

What could 5 of wands mean when it appears as the potential card in a love reading. Is it pointing to a relationship that's filled with conflicts, disagreements, arguments and tension. That the two people are perhaps too different to have a harmonious relationship. Or could it be saying there could be competition - other potential partners competing for this person's attention. It doesn't seem a very encouraging card! Any input appreciated.

I loved the comments on the thread I posted about Temperance. So, I would love to know, what is your favorite individual card (if from a specific deck, please share that as well). Why do you love this card? What speaks to you about the card? What experiences do you have with the card? What does this card mean to you? I can't wait to see what you all have to share!

The meanings of the ten of cups like long-term relationship, harmony, soulmates and homecomings tsc.. always brought me a a very happy vibe but in my life this card mostly appears whenever a big relationship is coming to an end (not always a harmonic one). So I personally see this as fate, a karmic long-term relationship coming to it's purpose (and that depending can mean marriege or separation tsc). Any thoughts about how to interprete this card alternative and negative sides? And in what contexts this card has already appeard in your experience?

I started the Halloween/Reading Group yesterday. I decided to turn over one card a day. Today I did the 2nd card: The Rats in the Basement - The secrets you keep from yourself. I pulled the Wheel of Fortune in the Housewives Tarot. Now how would you guys interpret the Wheel of Fortune as secrets I keep from myself? I get the card: luck, change, ups and downs. A positive card. The only way I see how to make it work, is to interpret it like I have to face the fact that life comes with up and downs, I just have to accept fate. Something I have always struggled with. Or is it more like "Hey, psssst, I'll let you in on a secret: you have the right to be lucky too!"? I don't kn…

I’m curious how others interpret the 3 of Cups when it comes to love/romance readings Yes, I often associated with a “third party”, but also I tend to associate it with a relationship that might be fun, but really not very serious, or most likely will fizzle out- that it’s not really built to last I understand the other cards in the spread make a difference, but typically unless I see it with a Ten of Cups or a Two of Cups, that is how I see it, and especially if I see it with a Page (immature) energy For me it’s simply not an indicator of a serious romance But, I’m curious how others read it!

Hello, I'd wanted to post this in the individual tarot card meanings subforum but it seems I can't, perhaps due to restrictions for new users. I'm still trying to learn the nuances of meanings of different minor arcana cards, and finding it very difficult to differentiate between the 8 of cups and 6 of swords, both mean leaving behind, moving on and a change in situation/life stage to me. Could anyone help me see how they are different, in terms of meaning or perhaps interactions with other cards? Thanks!

I would like to start some threads to share some ideas on individual cards.Especially for those decks who have images that look different or strange. This one is for 6 of cups. These days i am studying and started to use some decks that i didn't use till now. One of them is the Scapini Medieval. Some minors on this deck are really strange. Here the 6 of cups has the meaning of past influences, things that have vanished, faded images, longing, childhood past, memories, nostalgia but look how different is the feeling you get when you see this image, how it affects you.Well very different from r/w and the decks based on it i mean. On the r/w deck there is something sweet w…

Hi guys! My question was whether someone has left his family and moved away from his house. I requested one card but this combo came up: Sun Reversed + Chariot Upright Feels to me like he has left unhappily. The Sun card signifies kids/family as well, so maybe he was sad about leaving his kids? But the Chariot is a definite YES, is that right?

Hello everyone, how can The World be interpreted in the context of intimacy and sex? The card was pull in terms of advice, I was thinking about suggesting to be more spontaneous and open, I say so because of the image in the RWS deck, but I'm not sure. What do you think? Thank you.

I view the 6 of Pentacles Reversed as not having any/enough money to be generous and help someone else. Can I say that the individual that the card was drawn for can't physically be there to help me because he's not in town?
