I'll be using the Valentina Tarot, which is probably more of an art deck than anything else, which tend not to be great tarot decks.  BUT it does fall into the "comic and graphic art" subgenre of my collection.   (One of many, haha)

And happy 10th anniversary to the DOTW thread.     🎂

Happy 10th anniversary, DOTW! Thank you for the new thread, @VGimlet!

I will be working with the Aquarian Tarot this week—an old favorite. ❤️

(Definitely not enough animals in it for me though!)

The Aquarian was my one and only for almost 30 years....I still like it.

14 years of deck of the week for me. I'd probably have wandered away from the cards after a few months if I didn't have some kind of structure for using them. Thanks for taking on and keeping up the thread for us VG!

Animism Tarot for me

10 years!!! 🎂 🙂

Congratulations to VG and all participants!🥰

I will be having week 2 with my Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle

@Mi-Shell I am so happy you like that oracle!

I have known for some time that when a tarot deck lacks non-human creatures, it makes me feel sad and stifled. So in spending time with the Aquarian Tarot after a long while apart, I sought out the cards that have other animals in them and laid them out 🙂 (I excluded reference to animals via headresses/attire, etc... with an exception for the 7 of Pentacles. That goose head on the cane is too realistic to pass up. I will pretend it is a real goose.)

I really enjoy the Strength card more than I ever did in time past. A person and their dog—ever an example of the fine balance of nature, the taming necessary in order to fine-tune for the battle of survival!

This week I'll be using the New Liminal Tarot, created by Penelope Cline and self-published through Make Playing Cards. I'll also be using the Inward Oracle, created and self-published by Rayna Graham.  Today's draws are the Ten of Discs and Trust:

That is your legacy on this Earth when you leave this Earth: how many hearts you touched.
—Patti Davis

Cline's card shows an elderly couple alone on their estate. Perhaps they have no children or are empty-nesters. But if you were to walk inside their home, I'm sure you would see pictures of friends and loved ones on their mantel. They have learned to live mindfully - appreciating what they have - but also feeling a deep gratitude for those who've shared the journey with them. When they die, they may leave money and goods to others, but more importantly they will leave hearts that are full and brimming too. In the Trust card, a woman stands on her head, elevating her heart about her head. When I worry, my mind busily churns out thoughts about a future that I am trying to outmaneuver as if it will arrive just as I imagine it. What might be a better option is to feel my emotions without feeding them (imagining the worst) and being tender and gentle with myself. Clarity needs two wings to fly, compassion and wisdom.

When we open to our feelings as they arise, we create the causes and conditions of mental and physical health. This is what acceptance-based inner awareness entails; it is not a practice to put off, any more than breathing, sleeping, or consuming nourishment.

I really enjoy those decks paired together, @Bodhiseed 🙂 Your duo-draws are always so complementary and introspective!  Thank you for sharing the art.

@Bodhiseed I am so glad you did! Look at her cute dog companion, too!

The oracle card, again, fits so well 🙂 what a sweet pair.

Valentina tarot.  Hm.   I'm sure this was a popular comic in Europe, but I don't get it, and it wasn't my favorite deck, although it hasn't been awful to read with.    Hm, ed. to add - a little too much unsuspected B & D  in  that 60's/70's way that makes me wrinkle my nose.
