Finally found a deck that I liked, Modern Spellcasters tarot, used Rider Waite for ages.

Which is fine, except for that fact that it is very ordinary and lacks any identity.

So I ordered it on amazon, and should get it late next month.  8)

Here is an example picture of the style with the hermit.

Wow. Just watched a YouTube vid. That looks like a great deck. Not sure how I'd get on with the Air/Fire reversal and all those extra little twists. It seems well thought through, a deck you could really get stuck into.

I hope you'll report back on what it's like to use.

Well the only reason to really be hard on the elements is that the elements provide a link to Jungian thinking, sensing, feeling and intuition.

If one still holds that intuition is wands despite the air and the thinking is swords despite the fire, then there is really no problem, for me at least.

I have that conversion so steady in my mind that it doesn't matter.

And thinking now has a new twist in the cold of winter, which I kind of like.

While intuition can become a "breath of fresh air".

If I ever find the mixup difficult, which I doubt, I can always use another deck for those situations.

I hope you'll report back on what it's like to use.

Sure I'll try to remember posting something about that somewhere.

Not on the way yet, but I just got an email the other day saying that the Naked Heart Tarot should be mailed out in the next 10 days. So excited for this deck!!!

Circle of Life Tarot just came in--sealed and new in box. Bummed today, though...Just realized I have two duplicate Moon cards and am missing my Chariot card. :/ I wrote asking for a replacement card, though given that Lo Scarabeo is basked in Italy, I'm doubtful they'll ship.

I also have the Modern Spellcasters', and I've had a great time reading with it! I do hope that the creator expounded on the symbolism in greater detail, but it's still alright. My only misgiving is with the cardstock (typical Llewellyn fare). I just wish that I got the version with the full-color companion book.

Regarding the Sword/Athame-Fire & Wand-Air reversal, I believe that this follows the standard Gardnerian Wiccan (and in some cases Magickal) tradition, as opposed to the Sword-Air & Wand-Fire attribution of the Hermetic/Golden Dawn schools. The Modern Spellcasters' subscribes to the former, which explains why it was used.

I'm waiting on Our Tarot.  I missed the Kickstarter and even the second edition pre-orders, but I found an online shop with some in stock, so I'm pretty excited about that!  :D

Emilija Dreaming way is one of my all-time favorites... I hope you love it as much I do.  <3

I just pre-ordered the Moonchild tarot - I'm so excited for this, I absolutely love the art style. I dont have Starchild, but out of the two I feel Moonchild is more me.....

Who am I kidding, I'll probably end up buying Starchild aswell once I have more $$$.  ^-^

The New Era Elements Tarot arrived yesterday, and it is beautiful. I'll take it out for a test drive next week (and will be using it on my blog).

Okay, so my missing Chariot card in CIRCLE OF LIFE is being shipped...whew!

I've been wanting this "gipsy" deck forever and at its price point I was holding off. But then I saw it on EBAY today with a lot of other decks (some out of print), and I bought them all. Excited to receive them, though it's possible I'll end up reselling some. :/

NO!!  That deal is crazy!!  You are really lucky for your find, sandrang!

I justified that it was 90.00 with **free shipping.** ;) The Gipsy deck alone I don't see (often) for less than 40.00, at least...

Thanks, Saturn Celeste. By the way: I LOVE the Circle of Life cards. :) Thanks for the endorsement. XO

It's not my usual cup of tea, but it's been appealing to me ever since I saw it in a video.

I wrote asking for a replacement card, though given that Lo Scarabeo is basked in Italy, I'm doubtful they'll ship.

Sure they will, their customer service is outstanding. It will come with Italian postage stamps!

They are sending! My world (of tarot Circle of Life) is complete, or soon will be. I'm tempted to keep the extra (double) Moon card in there. I rather like thinking of two moons in a deck... (So says my Pisces moon!)

I'm really glad they are sending you a new one.  We corresponded directly with Giordano Berti from Lo Scarabeo when we bought our Sola Busca deck and he was awesome!  Such a nice man.  I looked through my Circle of Life this morning and am reminded how fascinating this deck really is.  When I first opened the deck I thought it might be more of a YA type deck but as I went through the cards, WOW!  It is no youth deck.  It's complicated.

Saturn Celeste[/member] You know...I'm glad you wrote this because I was seriously tempted to write to you and tap your brain. I don't mind "lighter" or "softer" decks. I have a certain fondness for The EVERYDAY WITCH, for example, because it's coy and seems "light" but packs a huge punch. Likewise, I love my Thoth and heavier decks (Scapini, Cat People, Blake, etc.). I'm pretty intuitive on what I pick up each day, for myself and others. As John Denver said, "Some days are diamonds, some days are stones." ;)

That said: What confuses me more than anything with the CIRCLE OF LIFE isn't the cards, per se, but the book! (I should know never to read books, but there you go...) I just found the write-ups of the pics a little "off" based on the interpretation (meaning) they then offered, which was rather traditional and standard. So, for example, one King depicts sheer chaos, and although the write-up of the IMAGE describes that, the "meaning" is still "Drive and force" or whatever, which has me seriously shaking my head. My solution (as always): bag the book and let the cards talk in this case. But I was curious what you thought, given that you've read a long while, too, yes? For me, the weird contradictions make the deck seem "lighter" more than anything. That said, I feel like it wants me to work with it, so I am.

At the end of the day: If I open it and can't work with it, I'm selling it. (I have way too many decks in storage!!!!!!) Pretty excited, though, to see!!!

I hope you'll report back on what it's like to use.

Since I promised.

I've only done one read with it so far.

It read wonderfully, it was really an interesting breath of fresh air.

As predicted the fire/wind thing didn't matter to me.

I really felt the cards spoke to me in a new way.

The pictures are so beautiful that it is like opening up a chapter in a fantasy novel.

I've also had a splurge  >:D I've just received the Soulflower Oracle (along with some of the lovely temporary tattoos by the same creator which can be used for intention setting), and am awaiting the Anieth Nature Tarot and the OOP Nigel Jackson Celtic Oracle. I've been looking for the Celtic Oracle for a few months and was pleasantly surprised to see one finally pop up!
