A few weeks ago I found a "strange web site", that had a number of popular decks for quite uniquely reasonable prices....??

I could not resist 😞 and yesterday the post -person announced, that the Spiritsong Tarot had arrived!

The deck is new and excellent print and stock quality, but I am wondering - and feel a bit guilty - It feels - - different....?

I do hope it wasn't one of the pirate sites... But I like Spiritsong.

ANYWAY - I am now even more confused. The 78 Magickal just sent me a tracking number (which doesn't work, but that's down to the service they use!) so I still don't know what the **** is coming from Seattle... but I just got my Ambiguïtés, and my Curious Creatures (it was on special...)

i received this recently on sale and couldn’t pass it up. Plus in my reading group someone was using it and it is a pretty good reader. I think she did a good job with this one.

Is that a tuck box? And did you not get a guidebook? 🤔 I used to own this deck and it came in a sturdy box with lid, plus a guidebook that fitted snuggly inside the box.

Was that your sale? @Therese small world if it was 😂

No, I meant I also almost bought the wrong deck some time ago. 😂 Didn't realise until the auction was over, but fortunately I didn't win.

Oh right, you were lucky! I need to exercise more caution when using ebay, or at least read titles better 😂

No need to be scared - but I really wouldn't use that site again; it does sound like a pirate site.  And don't direct anyone else there; we don't want to support breaches of copyright.

@akiva I think it has a lot of charm to be (or was) inattentive and to have a new deck as a result. Maybe it will give you a lot (I wish you that). That might have been the same for me. I also think it's nice when you can laugh at yourself, it's just a funny situation. 🤗

@Therese thank you, it definitely is chatty so it'll get a lot of use 😁 everything happens for a reason I suppose 😊

I recieved The Tarot Of The Masters (Lo Scarabeo) yesterday.

The art work is stunning. It's pretty cool to have a pip deck that's lightly illustrated without delving into rws levels of illustrated. The images are quite evocative. And the keywords are interesting.

I need to work out if I'm brave enough to chop the green boarders though (why are they green?), as it may become a new staple.

@akiva This is the Lo Scarabeo version of the Vacchetta deck. It's a classic. I have the Il Meneghello version (more expensive but no green borders). Anyway ... YES ... cut off the hideous green borders, I say };>

@Misterei I'm glad you used the word hideous, I originally put grotesque but deleted it as I felt I was being harsh. They're so jarring for such a delicately coloured deck!

The Il Meneghello version is lovely with great colours, it's on the wishlist.

How do you find the vacchetta reads? The LS version comes with some interesting keywords for the minors.

@akiiva Honestly I haven 't read with it much. I use it to illustrate class manuals b/c its in Public Domain.  I've mostly used it for fictional topic teaching spreads and a few real topic teaching spreads.  I'll prolly have to sign up for a Deck of the Week circle to use it personally and see how it performs for self readings. Sadly I seldom use my pip decks for clients because I find the RWS illustrations are just so d*** easy to explain stuff. Anyway, it's accurate and performs well as a teaching deck. I expect it would perform well for clients. But I've gotta try it as a personal deck before I could answer that.

@Misterei that's really interesting that you use it for teaching manuals, it's beautifully drawn so can understand why. And the RWS is just so accessible for new comers so it makes sense 😊

I've used the vacchetta for a couple readings but I think I need to mull over the images a bit more.

Maybe I'll join you over in the DoW thread if you do decide to (and I feel confident enough). I've got the Il Meneghello version coming, I couldn't resist! 🤭

@akiva I'll definitely give you the heads up if I do DoW with Vacchetta. Or give me heads up if you do it. It would be fun to do together.

I've got the Jumbledance tarot. I am waiting for it for about 25 years! I've seen the design online way back, and it said that it is going to be printed in the future. I checked ever since from time to time but there was no news that it is printed. It's in sale now.

Well I'm glad I have the original; as she's not shipping to the UK ! I was going to buy it too :classic_sad:

I could buy it for you (via ebay) and would send it to you from Germany, if you want to go that way. It was (I think) 36 € for a longer period of time and now 42 € if I remember correctly. But it could be too expensive, I think?

Oh - ebay.... I'll look there - that should be OK - it was etsy where Genetti isn't shipping outside the US. Thank you though - that is very kind of you.

But I do have the original (for which I paid a small fortune ages ago...) so I can't say I need it enough to spend a LOT !
