Dr_T Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Well it’s currently morning in New Zealand 🙂 I’m a philosopher (I did my doctorate in Ethics) and my interest in Tarot is primarily the philosophy behind the cards (those ‘deep dive’ into a single card are fascinating!). I’n also (unsurprisingly) interested in the ethics of Tarot reading (I’ve noted a lot of sites seem to confuse ethics with a codified set of rules) looking forward to some interesting discussions and hoping my slant adds something to the forums. Dr.T
Dr_T Posted September 12, 2021 Author Posted September 12, 2021 Why thank you @joy … have enjoyed the site for ages 😊 and just seemed ‘time’ to dip my toes into the forum waters.
DanielJUK Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Welcome to the community @Dr_T glad you have found us here 😀
Dr_T Posted September 12, 2021 Author Posted September 12, 2021 @DanielJUK … I’ve even launched a forum post (on ethics) … a topic known to cause spontaneous combustion 🤣
HOLMES Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Interesting.. Do you use the tarot as mediation? Or when you read with the tarot do you use a more philosphy spread? Do you prefer a scholarly work or a more barbones book. And what are some of your fav decks Example the jungian ?
Dr_T Posted September 13, 2021 Author Posted September 13, 2021 Scholarly (usually but not always) fav decks, hmmm, The Steampunk (Barabara Moore), Tarot Z, Divine Twilight, love the fool from Davide Corsi’s TV Series deck. I prefer a spread where the context/position of each card is well defined (the content of card x here is….)
Marina Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 Hi Dr_T! I always find it interesting to have people who enjoy tarot/oracles for reasons other than divination! It helps broaden our horizons and enrich our discussions. Welcome to the forum! 😉
