It sure is. 🙂 I used it to choose which book to read first this week! It helped me to choose Milk Fed by Melissa Broder. So far, this deck has definitely assisted in my making the RIGHT choice! I had to check and ensure the deck was thoroughly shuffled what with all those swords! I assure you, she was!

sweeneyish Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 @vulprix After seeing your deck, I must admit I spent a good amount of time on the Deviant Moon site and ended up buying a really creepy oracle deck. So fun. @Bodhiseed It really is beautiful! The spreads read so well. First photo, my personal past/present/future spread today, and second, a body/mind/spirit reading I did for someone else.
Wyrdkiss Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 (edited) Very well said @sweeneyish. The last of the cards, this time ones I find rather ineffective -- several Cups and the Knight of Pentacles: You'll notice the images are barely discernable, lacking clarity and purpose. It's a shame -- some of this deck is spot on, erotically charged, and beautiful. But "misses" like these make it not suitable for much use IMO. Secondly, I stand corrected. It is not the Empress that is shown in duress, it is the High Priestess. She seems so disempowered in a way, what is your take on it? Is this also a huge "miss", or is there an element of perception the deck creator is nailing unexpectedly? Edited March 1, 2022 by Wyrdkiss

sweeneyish Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 @Wyrdkiss The High Priestess there reminds me of the depiction of the Page of Wands - almost like the energy of the card pushed over the edge to madness. Lost in ‘intuition‘ and the ocean of the subconscious. The only shame about showing these more extreme states is that it would be hard to read the cards in a positive placement in a spread. @vulprix I bought the Abandoned oracle! I think I’m going to preorder the deck he is releasing in April as well, with the illustrated pips. I was thinking about purchasing the non-illustrated pips one, but I do like my pictures! I tried incorporating the wild unknown animal spirit into my spread today. I did a past/present/future spread, with the animal spirit card as the root/basis. I think it worked ok!
Wyrdkiss Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 Exactly @sweeneyish, a very troubled slant to them. I love some of the pics, and I am a collector so this affordable version stays, but the Savage is now shelved until my next Deck of the Week exploration. Good discussion here folks, quite enjoyable.
Madame Squee Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 (edited) @Wyrdkiss That Savage 8 of Cups reminded of the Vertigo 8 of Cups. Attaching it and the others in your last post + Empress, Page of Wands and Death (one of my all-time favorite cards period). I luvvvvvvvv the Vertigo. I'd say it's a dark and moody deck, and even erotically charged in its own way. I've really enjoyed looking at the Savage Tarot this week and reading your thoughts about it. If you'd like to see other Vertigo cards, just let me know. (PS: this might also be my favorite High Priestess.) Edited March 1, 2022 by Madame Squee
Wyrdkiss Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 (edited) OK that Vertigo is wild, I like it quite a bit. @Madame Squee there are precious few pics online of the savage, so here's a bit more for your enjoyment: I think the 9 of Swords is outstanding. And the 6, are those syringes? -- damn. The ace of Cups is gorgeous, and I wish more of the minor arcana where that vibrant. The 5 of pents is a heartbreaking example of one providing any comfort possible to someone who has lost everything. Like I said, the decks a, "keeper" on some level. Oh, and add in a token threesome for good measure lol. Edited March 2, 2022 by Wyrdkiss
vulprix Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 @Wyrdkiss the Darkness of Light Tarot (right?) looks like a nu metal music video in the best way! @sweeneyish the Abandoned Oracle looks excellent!! It is one of his decks I do not have. I preordered the illustrated pip version of the Trionfi della Luna myself, there was no way I wanted such a cool opportunity to slip away! (Even though I honestly prefer Marseille style/pip decks!)
Wyrdkiss Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 @vulprix it is the Savage Tarot by Michelle X. I changed my focus this week.
Madame Squee Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 (edited) @Wyrdkiss Vertigo 9 of Swords 😳 PS: I do get a sense of teamwork out of the Savage 3p. ☺️ But vertigo is giving me Borg for some reason. (Picard returning today?!) Edited March 3, 2022 by Madame Squee

(Even though I honestly prefer Marseille style/pip decks!) @vulprix - I am so on a Deviant Moon bender, now! I splurged and purchased a few more decks. I want them allllll. Looking forward to playing with them. Now I'm second guessing whether I should have also got the pip-style Trionfi della Luna! I did get a couple of his other oracle decks though. His work is really calling to me right now. Thank you for awakening this demon! And Happy Losar, Tashi Delek! Tibetan New Year today - the year of the Water Tiger. To end out my second week with the wild unknown, I did a year spread, which was a nice way to see a bunch of the cards on the table at once.
vulprix Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 Dear @Wyrdkiss, thanks for correcting me. I totally made a mistake 🙈 @sweeneyish, you are so welcome 🙂 I’m glad you’ll have so much to explore!
