Getting Started

Hello everyone! 

 

I’m super excited to get started on this deep dive of the incredible Deviant Moon. My plan is to start from the Major Arcana and eventually make it through all the suits. I know there are some other mega Deviant Moon fans here ( @Wyrdkiss, @vulprix, @Flaxen, and I’m sure others), so please feel free to create threads for any cards you‘re interested in, and of course, contribute however you would like. 

 

It is the day after the full moon, so this seems like an auspicious time to get started.

Do you have the companion book? It’s something I have thought about, even though the deck speaks pretty loudly and clearly as it is for me…

Awesome, @vulprix! I do - In my opinion, it is totally worth it. He encourages intuitive reading, but the stories he gives each character and card really give a lot of richness and detail, and there are lots of sketches, prototypes, and the beginnings of art you’ve now seen in his other decks. I think you would love it!

Greetings everyone. Yes @vulprix, I feel the Deviant Moon companion book is one of the most effective and beautiful deck specific resources on the market. I cannot recommend it enough.  Here's a pic of my hand drawn collectible Deviant deck directly from Patrick!

Thanks, it feels that way to have it here.

 

Question -- how do all of you want to organize our studies here?  Different threads for the suits and major arcana?  Daily Readings? Insight topics?

That’s a good question, @Wyrdkiss. One thing I was thinking was a thread per card for our general takes on it and ways we read it (I’m working on a Fool one right now that I’ll hopefully post soon). So those I was thinking anyone can start, with any card in particular they have a lot of interest in. I love the idea of daily readings and insight topics! I say let’s go for it.

Fantastic! It’s my favourite deck too. So many layers upon layers of humanity and meaning in those cards. Excited to discuss them with you!
