What do you think of this deck? Should I buy it?

I need to win the lottery jackpot.  🤣

It looks like I'm going to have to move my two cat themed decks along (for very different reasons). I can't possibly be without a cat deck, that would be ridiculous, so have been hunting a new one to try.

What do we think about the Soul Cats Tarot? I really do like the art and the cats look like cats (even when they have wings and antlers). There are a few minors/courts that gave me pause on the flipthrough though. Have you touched it, sniffed it? What do you guys think... yay/nay/maybe?

No.  Definitely not. Don't get me wrong, the artwork is nice.  Pictures of cats.  Who doesn't like cats?

Here's the thing, the cats are just posing from the images I've seen so far.   There's no action, no  interaction ...just posing.   I suppose that's most of what cats do but I expect more from a tarot deck.

Why not the Cat's Eye Tarot from US Games Systems Inc.?   I'd post the link but I'm using the phone.

In any case, I wouldn't waste my money on the Soul Cat's Tarot.

I wanted to like Soul Cats but ultimately I think Cats Rule the Earth or Yin Yang the Cat are as cute and a bit more usable overall. I love Oehlers' art, but I've got both Oak Ash and Thorn *and* Smoke Ash and Embers, so I'm pretty set there.

From a collecting standpoint it might be worth having, but it didn't really resonate for me use wise.

I love the look of it but it's so hard to tell. I wanted to like Mystical Cats as well but thankfully got the app first and although it's clearly a solid deck, we just didn't click. A good cat deck is hard to find. Haven't seen Cats Rule the Earth or Yin Yang the Cat before. Will take a look thanks.

From the flip throughs it looks like the more 'posey' cats are courts, aces and a couple of majors like the moon which I'm okay with. My concern is more where the cat's body language doesn't fit; looking fearful or stressed where it shouldn't (Temperance, Queen of Cups) or content where it should be more apathetic (four of cups). There are also a few images that just don't work for me symbolistically, like the 5 of wands and Death.

I've looked at the Cat's Eye Tarot a few times but find it a bit... blank? I always come up against cards that just say nothing to me.

I could always just replace my (sadly foxed) mini Pagan Cats with the newer, borderless standard edition. Feel pretty meh about the artwork but at least I know it's a good reader.

Thanks guys, I'll keep thinking 👍.

Pagan Cats is ESSENTIAL That's all there is to it ! I wish the bordered were easier top find these days, but borderless is FAR better than none.

I wondered how quickly mentioning Pagan Cats would summon you @gregory 😁. Yeah you're right. I should definitely replace it even if I decide to get another cat deck.

I don't know how the current poor copy got so foxed on every card, it's never happened to another deck. Maybe the little zipper pouch I've kept it in's a bit sketchy. So odd.

Actually it wasn't that that brought me here - I just like checking the thread - and then I was looking to see which kitties you have and....

I wish I could say Mystical Cats would do - but - no. Cat's Eye is better... I quite like Soul Cats, but I see what others mean.

I could always sell off a valuable deck or 2 that I'm not using and just buy aaalll of the kitty decks. Might as well lean into the crazy cat lady at this point.

I just got the Il Meneghello cats tarot. It's majors only. I don't think I'll ever read with it per se ... but ... yeah. Cats. and Tarot. These are 2 of my favorite things.

I don't think I could ever read with any of the cat decks. Not my reading style.

But I still found the artwork on Cats Tarot by Osvaldo Menegazzi is compelling and worth having just as eye candy.

I can't read with that one - but Pagan Cats is TOTALLY readable.

Anyone got any thoughts on this deck - Guardian of the Night.  I saw in a shop this week but didn't buy it yet.

It's very lovely artwork - but I don't find it very readable,. I am glad I have it to look at.

Thanks. That's exactly what I'm thinking - don't know if it would be good for readings.

I feel the same as Gregory about this one--the art is very nice, really most of her decks have lovely art, but I don't connect with them. At most they work meditatively, or for inspiration.

As nature/animal decks go, I find Anima Mundi and Pacific Northwest much more readable.

Will check these decks out - thanks for the suggestions.

As others have shared here, it is pretty to look at. I sold mine pretty shortly after it arrived because reading with it wasn’t going to work for me.

I definitely need a deck I can read with so this one is not for me. Thanks.

The Mystical Dream Tarot - Janet Piedilato

I am contemplating to buy this deck for some time. What are your thoughts about it? Thanks.

@rylla It's a beautifully illustrated deck, one of my faves aesthetically. I love looking at it. Its silver reversible back is one of the best I've encountered. What's more, there's some serious brains behind its system. The companion book is deep and is a dream (heh) to read. It's essential if you wish to understand the whole thing.

That may be its fatal flaw though: it's an entirely new system that only borrows elements from the RWS in passing. In order to truly read with it, you would need to expend some time and effort. Unless you read intuitively, in which case it is a gem.

What do you think of the Surrealist Tarot (Lo Scarabeo)? Do you get fitting meanings from every single card? Some cards I saw are really unique and gave me a new view of this special card, while at the same time remaining closely connected to their actual meaning. I don't know, if it was intentionally, as some cards don't make that much sense to me (but I only saw videos, so...). I'm on the fence.

Ok so there's Crow Tarot  which i actually feel more than amazed about a certain connection and probably the only on that theme i actually really like and was thinking to get and also there's a deck which is actually haunting me this past month to get like subconsciously haunting me cause i wasn't sure but for some odd reason I become more and more positive on getting it as time passes Nicoletta Ceccoli Tarot it's kinda odd though cause we're kinda lookalikes so i would like to ask if anyone has any of these some general feedback?

I find the Crow very limiting. Many pix of - crows which look a lot like every other crow. I like Londa Marks' Crow's Magick much more. I DO like the Ceccoli, though.

Thank you for the feedback yeah idk i really like the artwork on that one more than other crow raven themed decks i feel like i could read easier with that one for some reason like it could flow easier but about the Ceccoli i definitely get strong signs to get it lately it literally stucks in my head to get it like haunting me to get it strongly on an intuitive way but I'm not sure like with the crow tarot if I'll read that easy with it i guess I'll know once i have it physically with me instead I'll definitely should work on my issue with the latin numbers meanings thought maybe that's the reason i feel it's gonna be harder idk
