gregory Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 (edited) Quote That must be a fake. The original Children of Litha Tarot is an indie deck bei Xia Huntington, and it's more expensive. Please don't buy the Marcopolo deck - it's a pirated deck, I'm sure. If you love this deck, head over to the artist's site and buy it there. https://www.xiahunt.com/products/copy-of-children-of-litha-tarot-card-deck-book-set-black-edition This is very true; I just got mine out to look. I THOUGHT it looked like One Of Those Sites. The price is a giveaway. And it is a lovely deck. Edited March 5, 2023 by gregory

It was just another site I found with different images of the deck than the Amazon page. I MIGHT have bought the Amazon version but even that is considerably cheaper than the artist's page. I think it is highly suspect as well considering I just read this in the product description: "Usage: English card, scan the color box QR code, and view the electronic guide. Look out: There will be slight error due to different measurement methods. Thanks for your understanding." 🤔 Not sure if I am in love with it or not yet. I just found it interesting because the imagery is so all over the place with its cultural references. The artwork is amazing though.
gregory Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 The amazon version is also quite obviously a fake. Which is probably why it is "unavailable". And the description is insane.

I am glad I let my indecisiveness keep me from pulling the trigger on it before looking it over more carefully though.
gregory Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 (edited) Here Though your link still goes to unavailable for me. Edited March 5, 2023 by gregory
gregory Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 (edited) I have since found it on another amazon site (amazon UK) as available and have reported it as a fake. Edited March 5, 2023 by gregory
Nemia Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 I have the original Children of Litha and love it. The creator is currently working on a Children of Ostara deck, and I guess the other Pagan festivals will follow. A huge project!

I think it will have to go on the back burner for now though. I have a pile of Poker decks I want plus working on my own card project.
Niobium Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Belatedly, I really like Children of Litha but it IS a little all over in terms of the theme varying for each suit. I'd have liked her to instead do a tighter, more coherent theme for each of her planned decks. This said, I definitely like it and find it entirely usable, but it's definitely not cheap. (Children of Ostara IIRC will be a botanical deck and well I'm a botanist so that's going to happen no matter what.)

I just wanted to follow up on the book that is available. I think it's worth the purchase and there is a paperback version available for substantially less than the hardcover edition. The author provides additional information on 71 of the individuals included in the deck. My only criticism is that I believe he would have benefited from a little bit of proofreading but otherwise it's quite interesting.
Therese Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 May I ask what are you thinking about the Alleyman's Tarot? I'd just love to hear, has it changed your practise? I could'nt buy it at this point but am curious because the concept seems very interesting.
gregory Posted March 28, 2023 Author Posted March 28, 2023 I love it. TOTAL chaos. It so fits the world as it now is !

(I take that back. Illegal upload...) I was trying to find the paperback - I failed, but.... Finding it now. Considering.... ETA some more. Postage is almost as much as the book. No longer considering ! Edited March 28, 2023 by gregory
rylla Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 (edited) What is your opinion about the Lilifer tarot? Kind of interesting, not sure how it would work for reading. Edited March 29, 2023 by rylla
gregory Posted March 29, 2023 Author Posted March 29, 2023 I've backed it; I've never seen it, so I can't comment till I get it !
Guest Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 I love the art. For me it's definitely a keeper - one of those decks I will never think of rehoming. The numbering system it employed was a tad confusing at first, but it's not a deal-breaker. And now I'm thinking of using it as my DotW once I'm through with my Holy Week deck.
rylla Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 After resisting heroically for almost a month , when I've got the notification that the campaign for Lilifer tarot ends in 2 days, puf! I succumbed to the tentation and I ordered it. (I suspect if I drew a card as my card of the day it would be the Devil)
KiMo Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Does anyone have or know much about The Fox’s Wedding Tarot? A copy has come up on a second hand selling site and I’m very intrigued, but I can’t find too much information about it online to figure out if it’s worth the spend. Any feedback would be much appreciated!
gregory Posted April 22, 2023 Author Posted April 22, 2023 (edited) Did you see the KS campaign page - has quite a lot. I have it and am fond of it. Can't say more just now as I m away from the collection ! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pspargur/the-foxs-wedding-tarot-deck/description There's a walk-through on youtube, too: Edited April 22, 2023 by gregory
KiMo Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Thank you @gregory, yes I had a look at the KS campaign page and that was part of what piqued my interest. The walkthrough is great, but I think what surprised me is that for such a beautiful deck, there doesn't seem to be many reviews of it... I'm very, very tempted, even though I haven't dipped my toe into reading Marseille style yet. Some of those majors cards are something else!
gregory Posted April 23, 2023 Author Posted April 23, 2023 KS decks often don't get many review because their numbers are limited and others can't run out and buy them easily !

Yes, very true! Thank you for the input, I may watch and wait to see if the seller drops the price a little, but like I said, I'm very tempted.
DanielJUK Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 I am thinking of buying the Shining Tribe Tarot in memory of Rachel Pollack. I want it in my collection but what it is like as a deck? It looks very untraditional in the pictures and reviews of it online, don't conform to regular systems like RWS. It seems widely available as a mass market deck. Is it a good reading deck?
