MichaelH Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 I'm going to join this for the coming week. I think I'll use the Robin Wood tarot next week as I've spent a few weeks now using the Light Seer's.
Bodhiseed Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 I'm in with the Tarot Lukumi paired with the Diloggun Oracle. Thank you, Fire cat! 🦌❤️
fire cat pickles Posted December 16, 2022 Author Posted December 16, 2022 You're welcome and welcome back @Bodhiseed 🙂
Scarlet Woodland Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Thanks @fire cat pickles I'm sticking with Tarot of the Abyss this week and adding in the Old English Tarot. It was my first ever deck but we never hit it off back then. Let's see if we can play nice, now I know what I'm doing 😄.
fire cat pickles Posted December 16, 2022 Author Posted December 16, 2022 Welcome back @Scarlet Woodland!
Misterei Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 (edited) @fire cat pickles Sign me up for my brand new Daniloff deck: orient tarot. I’ve not yet read with it. Thanks for this thread which is quite encouraging when I get lazy or lack inspiration. Edited December 16, 2022 by Misterei
fire cat pickles Posted December 16, 2022 Author Posted December 16, 2022 We are glad to be inspiring and glad to have you back @Misterei 😀
FindYourSovereignty Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Thank you for organizing these, @fire cat pickles. I’ll be back in January. 😊
fire cat pickles Posted December 17, 2022 Author Posted December 17, 2022 I worked with the Zombie Tarot this week. It was a reading for a friend so alas cannot post. At least I got some practice in this busy holiday season!
Rachelcat Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Hi, deck of the week crew! This week, I’m going from the difficult angels and demons (and trying to do four decks at once) to something that looks to be easy and intuitive, the Tarot of Oneness. As (I think it was) @FindYourSovereignty said, it’s like a cross between Light Seers Tarot and Spacious Tarot. The art is similar to the Light Seers, and the concept of the card looking like the viewer is participating in the action is like the Spacious. I like the contemporary look, and I can’t wait to step in as the greedy squirrel in the Four of Pentacles! There are extra cards, Higher Self, Life Force Energy, Oneness, Present Moment, and Synchronicity. Oh, and two Lovers cards, one male-ish and one female-ish. The courts are Inspiration, Action, Spirit, and Embodiment. (I find it a little odd that it uses the labels Pentacles and Swords when most of the cards show coins and feathers, but I guess for ease of use for beginning readers?) Wash, shuffle, and interview! Most important characteristic: Eight of Cups Cutting the cord that’s already frayed beyond repair. The deck cuts the necessity of cups showing cups in the cards, etc. The illustrations show the concept, not the suit items. Unless they do. Strength: Two of Pentacles Juggling. The deck successfully juggles illustrating the suit items and the concept. And contemporary illustration with including the viewer. Weakness: Inspiration of Wands (Inspiration is equivalent to page.) Interesting that both courts in this reading are wands. Looks like wands are represented by crystals. The deck might be too concept-heavy, all the animals are just conceptual, not real insects and salamanders in this card. What the deck can teach me: Seven of Swords A jaguar in a tree is beautiful but dangerous, 7=Venus, swords=danger? Oh, also it’s camouflaged in the shadows. This deck can teach me about challenging information and how to bring it out into the open. How I can learn it: Ten of Pentacles I can learn that by sharing. Sharing the information and being generous in my understanding of it. Outcome of our work together: Embodiment of Wands (Embodiment is equivalent to king.) I like kings as embodiment. It makes me think they’re fixed, so this card would be Leo, fixed fire. The crystal crown is over the top! And here the salamander is real, not just a smoke vision. Working with this deck will help me let my tarot abilities shine, like the magic at the tip of the crystal wand! Well, this wasn't as easy as it could be, but we'll see how I get on the rest of the week!
fire cat pickles Posted December 17, 2022 Author Posted December 17, 2022 Welcome back @Rachelcat! I think I have everyone's decks correct if you all will doublecheck my "math".

I think I have everyone's decks correct if you all will doublecheck my "math". Well since you asked... I'm going to be a flake 😅. My Tarot Cards Dark Forest decks arrived unexpectedly early today and I'm weak, so make that Tarot of the Abyss and the Vintage Waterproof RWS please @fire cat pickles. My apologies to the Old English Tarot, who is the bridesmaid yet again. I did get to use it quite a bit today though and it reads just fine, now I'm not a noob anymore.
Guest Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 I will be using the Kabbalistic Visions Tarot this week, mainly for the Sacred Days of Yule circle.
Bodhiseed Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 This week I'll be using the Tarot Lukumi, a deck created by Caelum Rainieri, Ivory Andersen and Raphael Montoliu. It is published by Dal Negro and the artwork was done by Luigi Scapini. The oracle deck I'll be using this week is the Diloggun Cards, a digital set created through the use of art by Mase Lobe. Each card is associated with an Ifa ethic as well as a proverb, with information from a book by Ifa Karade called The Handbook of Yoruba Religious Concepts. Today's draws are Three of Wands and Iwori (14 mouths): A king is seen climbing the tallest royal palm tree (associated with the Orisha Shango) to collect leaves to be used in ritual. Only those with 'dignity' were allowed to make this high climb. In the traditional meaning of the Three of Wands, a collaboration of efforts brings expansion. It makes sense that wise folks would only want to invest energy and resources in someone who embodied principles they respected. The Diloggun proverb for Iwori reads: "What you help a child to love can be more important than what you help him to learn." Ambition is easy to learn, but how does one learn to love dignity? We often model what we receive; if we give respect and live with principles, then those we influence may be encouraged to do the same. Show respect to all people, but grovel to none. ~Tecumseh
Bodhiseed Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 @Misterei and @Rachelcat, those are beautiful decks you both will be using this week!
Rachelcat Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 😺 Here's my reading for today. I don't feel like I'm doing very well, but there's always tomorrow!
MichaelH Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 I did a spread on Saturday using the Robin Wood Tarot. I love a lot of the characters in this especially the men. She has a way of depicting men that is very attractive and appealing 🙂 It's a pleasure to work with it, and a change after having used a lot of the Light Seer's. Very earthy, very pagan in feel.
Rachelcat Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 Hi, all! Here's my moon day reading for today!
Misterei Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 (edited) 7 card reading with Daniloff Orient Tarot - first reading with this deck INTERPRETATION HELP WELCOME - I am too close to this situation, thus it seems difficult to read Topic: I started a new job. I just ran into the person who previously did the job. VIBES. Why is she vibing me? Should I ask her to tea or otherwise attempt to talk to her about it? Background: She seemed to have difficulties "letting go" and moving to her new position (actually an upgrade ... so not sure why she wanted to hold on). I beleive (but don't really know) that I've offended her by changing the job, introducing new systems, making improvements. I'm pretty sure she feels these improvements are throwing shade on her. Sun and Mercury in Sag / Moon in Virgo. Offending people by blunt comments on how to improve efficiency is a way of life for me. #1 Past = Q Cups Either one of us can be Q Cups. The job is managing the guesthouse at a spiritual retreat center. This also tells me there are emotions mixed in with the work considerations (Yuck. I hate emotions at work) #2 Prsent = 10 Wands There is a LOT of work just now. This card is accurate. I "inherited" a huge mess when I started this job. I have battled moments of feeling resentful about it. But then again ... it was a lot of work for my predessessor, too. #3 Future = 8 Pentacles Yep. The Grind. Work Work Work to get this mess cleaned up for all the holiday guests. Also ... we HAVE to work together in the future. Yikes. Really do need to clear the air so we can 8 of pents together. #4 Advice of the Cards = 3 Swords HELP PLEASE - I'M NOT OBJECTIVE. Clearly I've somehow really hurt her feelings. Or somehow even leaving the job hurt her feelings. I don't understand why. But her behavior was oddly attached to the job and I think no matter what I did I was going to hurt her. For example I had to go over her head to get my start date. Every time I asked her "what is my start date" she would hem and haw. Meanwhile the higher-ups thought I had already started. It was weird. #5 Me - Moon Yep. This is me. Confused. Some emotional undercurrents I don't understand. #6 Other person - 7 cups HELP PLEASE. Soooo ... she feels uncertain about her new job? Or? Uncertain how to deal with me? #7 Outcome = Priestess Women. Emotions. Things that can't be known. Priestess. Moon. Yuck. Can I just work with men and not have emotions, please? I guess I will venture to say the cards suggest to just keep my mouth shut and not make any overtures at the moment. Other opinions? Happy Holidays all! Edited December 20, 2022 by Misterei
Scarlet Woodland Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Yep, as I thought, in less than 2 weeks, Tarot of the Abyss has made itself comfy in my top ten tarot decks. It's booted out Baba's Alice and is jockeying for 7th place with the Sasuraibito already. Things are going well with Tarot Cards Dark Forest's (Etsy) Waterproof Vintage RWS too. It's easy to read, without being "surface-y", compulsively wonderful to shuffle and the edging that took me foreeeeever to do, turned out nice in the end. I was hoping this could be an indestructible, workhorse deck for me and so far so good.
