A thread for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, some use two. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your chosen deck for the week.
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you.
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here.
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form.

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in.

I'm in with the Sasuraibito Tarot paired with the Soul Cards 1&2. Thank you for your dedicated effort, @fire cat pickles❤️

I'll work with the Mystical Moments Tarot. (I'm too busy to do much more than the bare-bones weekly planetary spread but it works well for me. It's over in my journal.)

fire cat pickles: Cosmic Tribe

Yay!  Love Cosmic Tribe.  I've never used it for a deck of the week because I'm shy of sharing the nudity.  But it's a great deck!  Enjoy!

This week I’ll be really going out on a limb, using Lotería cards and Millennial Lotería.  Full disclosure:  I have no experience of the cards or the game.  All I know I found on the internet.

Loteria is a Mexican game like bingo, but instead of letters and numbers, you pull cards.  And instead of just announcing the card, you say a riddle or verse.  (They’re not really riddles because they’re traditional, and everyone knows which cards they apply to.)  54 cards.  The set I bought online has the verses in tiny print on the back of the title card for the “bingo cards.”  I also have a partial list of possible divi meanings posted by DragonFae on Aeclectic back in the day.  Another disclaimer:  A few of the cards are a little racist (because they’re old and traditional) so I’ll try to downplay that aspect if/when they come up.

Millennial Loteria is a humorous revision of the traditional loteria cards based on contemporary pop culture, also set up as a bingo game.  46 cards, one that moves.  (Sorry, I don’t know the word for that.)  (I found it at Target when I was Christmas shopping.)

I don’t even know if loteria cards are traditionally used for divination, but it seems like they could work because of their similarity to lenormands and sibillas.  Let’s find out!

Let’s just do five cards each a la lenormand.  How will you perform as a divination tool?

Loteria

The Harp:  My wife’s old harp; you are not longer fit to play.

The Hero:  Why are you running like a coward when you are carrying such a good dagger?

The Bird:  You’ve got me jumping to it like a bird on a branch.

The Sun:  The sun is the blanket of the poor.

The Boot:  One boot is the same as the other.

I may be old-fashioned (harp), but I’m still strong (hero).  And I may jump around a bit (bird), but I can shine a light on things (sun).  Or I’m the same for everyone (sun), you just have to put yourself out there.  If you can read lenormand, you can read me (boot=similarity).

Millennial Loteria

El Podcast, El Participation Trophy, El Man Bun, El Bird, El Gender Reveal

The bird is obviously a version of the bird above.  The gender reveal is a version of the barrel card.

I can be quite chatty (podcast) if you try to make it work (trophy).  I’m obviously unconventional (man bun), but I can take you places (bird) and even reveal things you don’t already know.

Well, these were fun readings!  We'll see how I do the rest of the week.

Welcome back @Bodhiseed, @Nemia and @Rachelcat! Lots of interesting things going on this week 🙂 I probably won't be posting any Cosmic Tribe pics unless the images are "PG-rated" 😈

@Nemia Tarot Connection has an excellent version of the Planetary in case you're interested. I'll link it here.

This week I'll be working with the Sasuraibito Tarot, self-published by Stasia Burrington. I'll also be using Soul Cards 1 & 2, created by Deborah Koff-Chapin and published through her company, Center for Touch Drawing. The Soul Cards have no titles, so the ones given here are my own. Today's draws are the Magician and Alien:

magician.jpg  alien_0002.jpg

This Magician's hands are flying so fast, he appears to have multiple arms. He takes a ball and hides it under one of the cups then takes a bet on who might find it. Known as a shell game, confidence tricksters use sleight of hand to move and hide the ball during play. The Soul Card, Alien, shows a part-human and part-beast who appears sad and lonely. I think we all have portions of our lives when we feel like a stranger in a strange land. We may try to assimilate through the Magician's method - using pretense to try and fit in. Or, we may simply exist on the fringe, a wallflower, thinking we are too weird to belong anywhere. Either way, it is our narrow focus on all the ways we are different that often causes our suffering. We might do well to take Sophie Trudeau's words to heart: "The differences that separate human beings are nothing compared to the similarities that bond us together."

@Bodhiseed, I've always been interested in Soul Cards, but I'm afraid they would be just too challenging for me.  Like the card you're showing!  But your interpretation is beautiful!

Here are my readings for today!

@Rachelcat, I just go on the feeling it gives me. Now those Loteria cards would be a challenge for me! 😄

I've just done a weekly spread using the Heavenly Bloom Tarot. I wish I had the time and energy to do readings every day like Rachelcat.

He said on the day I skipped reading!  😺

@Bodhiseed, I'm really surprised at how well the loteria readings are going.  I thought I would just be giggling and throwing up my hands this week, but they're actually clicking!

Here are my readings for yesterday, and I hope today's will be ready shortly!

It's the Minchiate Etruria by Meneghello for me this week.
