Guest Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 I was so excited to finally receive this one! Will be diving into this as soon as I have enough leisure time to make its lengthy acquaintance. It will 100% be my next DotW. I was lukewarm at first re: the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Tarot, but I noticed that among the Insight Editions decks in local stores, it's always sold out. I was lucky to come across a copy at a deal-icious price, so yeah I ordered it. Waiting for it along with the Necronomicon Tarot.
DanielJUK Posted January 9, 2024 Author Posted January 9, 2024 The postman brought to me today, my tarot Christmas present to myself from The Wootique. I needed more sparkling and glittering in my life, so bought the Dreamy Moons Tarot. It has foil in the cards and they all sparkle and shine! It's a RWS clone and weirdly has 2 added majors; XXII. The Self and XXIII. The Flower of Life. So far, I love it!
gregory Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 Oddly enough I received this one two days ago. It is lovely, isn't it !
Tom Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 https://hitpointpress.com/animated-tarot-deck/ I'm getting this soon. This deck was designed to go along with a Dungeons and Dragons game. I don't do D&D, but these are designed for divination as well. I wanted them more as a collectors item because of it's different approach. The artwork is beautiful and If I never do a reading with them it would be just great to pull them out and look at them from time to time. The order is high for me but since it's so different I felt it was worth buying it.

Don't forget to share your impressions, I would be thrilled to see an actual video of how it works!
Tom Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 @Eugenie I'll see what I can do. They do have reviews on You Tube that walk through the entire deck and show the animations. I think unless the lighting is right they might be hard to photograph and I'm not sure if you can scan them with a scanner either. Video probably does work best.
akiva Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 @Raggydoll it arrived this morning! 😁 Not sure if the picture does it justice, this house is like a cave this time of year... It's a lovely mini size, perfect for large spreads. Can’t wait give it a whirl and experiment! Also it's spurred me on to start printing my own mini decks. I can't go back to normal size now 🤣

I can't go back to normal size now 🤣 Oh YAY!!! And I totally get the mini size conversion!! Right now I’m making a deck in poker size but that is just so I’ll have the option of doing a normal size deck at some point, but poker size translates perfectly to mini and i have realized that it’s better for me to create them larger and then print smaller. The other way doesn’t work, I would have had to redo the whole thing to get crisp cards in poker size if the original was mini size! Mini size rules!! (I even bought really cute mini sized eco-cotton bags with drawstring. They are cream colored with no pattern, and I thought I might print a picture of the deck and iron it onto the bag, so I can tell the bags apart. I have used that type of fabric transfer paper before and it should work good for this. I just don’t have any paper at home so I’d need to buy some first. If I get it done, I’ll show you!)

That makes total sense, and I'll have to remember that for the decks I'm planning, might give in and get one poker sized one. 😆 Mini does rule, they also take up much less space for storage... Which means more decks! 🤣 13 minutes ago, Raggydoll said: (I even bought really cute mini sized eco-cotton bags with drawstring. Yes please do show, I have a fair few laying around from buying crystals and other little bits and pieces, but I definitely need to get more. Cotton sounds a lot better than the weird plasticy see-through net bags (I dont know the name 😅) you often get with crystals!

They are of low quality and also really not my style 😁 I like natural materials; wood, glass, metal, linen etc etc this is what the bags look like without any printing on them, very basic but nice quality!

Those boxes look great! It's funny, I was looking at wooden card boxes the other day, might be fate tempting me! 😆 The cotton bags look perfect for mini decks 😍 I'll have to order some ASAP!

I’ve found most of my wooden boxes at thrift stores, i love to look for second hand storage solutions 😍

Raggydoll Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Yes @Sar, that deck is a personal project that @akiva helped me with. I gave him a copy as a thank you for his invaluable help on researching pasyans keywords. I am not selling the deck, sorry!
Tom Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 I have big hands, I don't like mini cards because they are more difficult for me to shuffle. Also depending on how much detail is in the card I can't properly see the details. My several LeNormand decks have smaller cards because of the Grand Tableau spread using the whole deck it would be easier to put them all out. These decks usually have a central figure that's large enough to tell exactly what it is. On the other hand I accidentally bought the mini version of The Dark Mansion Tarot. These cards have so many fine details that is hard to pick them all out in such a small card. I am now going to have to eventually get the Standard Size deck--I want to do reading with them and I'm afraid of missing the more subtle parts of the scenes. The mini deck seems more suited to young eyes and smaller hands.
Scarlett Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Tabula Mundi (large size) is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. 😃 I already have the book (Liber M: Liber Mundi) and the medium size deck, but the art is so amazing and detailed I wanted to get the large version. So I'll keep the large size unshuffled for study (there's a lot to learn in this deck), and the medium size for actual use.

But you already know how good it is. 🙂 I have regular & mini, but not that large size, except for 2 free large cards the deck creator added once. They're stunning, so I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I love that she includes the large cards and a signed card. And the box is so gorgeous! I've been going through the book very slowly and methodically with the medium deck for the past week, but I really need the large size to see everything. I already have M.M. Meleen's Rosetta Tarot in the large size and I love it!

Also glad I persevered in my search and added 'Shimiltei' as there were many 'rainbow' tarot decks out there. This is an outstandingly beautiful deck and I must have it. Thanks and enjoy the beauty. Exquisite. I know it as the Quilling Tarot - that;'s what she calls it on her website....
akiva Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Managed to snag the Art Deco Wahrsagekarten for an absolute steal, after the seller on eBay made me an offer! 😁

I'm male 🤣 I waited a long time for it to appear at an affordable price, I hope you can find a copy too! It's a lovely deck, and there's cross over between it and sibilla cards so the when you learn one, the other becomes very easy 😊
Tom Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 @akiva that looks like it would be deck right up my alley. If I ever see one I want to get a copy too
