I have to wonder if @gregory and @Rodney aren't competing to have the most decks in their collections?

I haven't backed any decks on kickstarter, but I have bought some decks that had kickstarters and the decks are on sale in the creators shop. I prefer buying decks that way because I don't like waiting months for my decks to arrive.

Is anyone else waiting on Strange Attractor Press' Austin Osman Spare deck? It's my first time backing a kickstarter and was just wondering if this kind of wait is normal? Or am I being impatient 🤣

What was the date due @akiva? The crowdfunder closes and then the money 💰 is used to publish the decks. This can be up to a year afterwards. You should have a date when it's due on the page. There is always a wait for them.

Some go wrong and some people are still waiting for them many years later 🤦‍♂️.

Looking it up, the KS said delivery due June 2023 but in the updates it's just been to the printer. Keep an eye on update emails/ posts on the page. I think you will get it in the next 4 months

That was the original date, they've delayed it twice since then. Updates have been a bit sporadic, but this isn't their first KS they've put out, so fingers crossed.

I think I'm just being nervous/impatient as it's my first time backing anything 😅 I didn't realise people's could end up waiting years for their stuff! Hopefully it is only 4 more months 😁

It is remarkably interesting how some KS creators have the decks out easily in 2-3 months and others take 6+ or more. I am currently waiting on one that has been postponed for over a year now and is still being postponed another two months even though the deck is ready to ship from the printer. There are many reasons a deck can be postponed, however, it almost always comes back to the creator and their project management. Thankfully, I have successfully received my decks even if they have had extreme delays. I agree with Daniel that likely the deck will be delivered within the next 4 months. 🤞🏻

It's such a strange way to purchase things, it's taken some getting used to!

If you've had them arrive after having being majorly delayed, then that's a good sign. My anxiety came when people started to complain in the updates, but maybe we're all just being impatient for this historical deck 😂🤞

@gregory has me beat easily! 🤣

The waiting for months is a double-edged sword. The money comes out of my account when the campaign is over, but when the deck arrives months (or sometimes years) later, I'm usually surprised because I've forgotten about it cause it's been so long.

We are too lazy to compete - and we both had sizeable collections before we "met."

Yes - and I have every confidence in them - I already have their book, which is brilliant.

This so much. During covid all the Chinese presses had to shut down and over the last 6 months they have been catching up big time - so decks that I paid for up to 2 years ago started to flood in - and with no outlay from me - it felt LOVELY !

I love seeing people's huge collections, one day I will have my tarot room! 🥰

But we are moving this thread about what the Postman is Bringing off-topic, can we move that discussion to a new thread or get this one back to the topic in hand 🙂

I am sure there was a "show your collection" thread somewhere but can't place it currently but we could start one?

It's partly my fault we got off topic and I didn't see this post until after I posted again just now. Alright I'm sure we can all get back on topic. It might be interesting to create a thread where everyone shows their collections for sure.

I guess it's difficult to be a mod on a forum. People want to talk about whatever they want to talk about and we go off topic

I've realised that we have a "share your tarot space" thread which is more spiritual but not share your collection! I will create one out of the discussions on here and we can move them over 🙂

The collections discussion is now in it's own neat thread over here -

I've moved the related posts over there. Let's get this thread back to what the postman is bringing :78496:

I just ordered the Yuletide Tarot.  The illustrations look like Victorian Christmas cards.  I had to have this one.  I want to try to do some motivational spreads or single card picks with these during the holiday season.  I provided a link if you want to check them out. Hopefully I'll have time to do a review of them after I get them, including a few favorite cards.

The Yuletide Tarot arrived. I was wrong about this Yuletide Tarot, it's very contemporary.  I got it confused with another Yuletide deck that is Victorian. I'll try to get a review out before Christmas.

Got the Rainbow Tarot Cards, or also called the Shimiltei tarot. It's really well done, good cardstock, unique style of images (the reason I bought it), I'm happy with this purchase.

I'm not sure, but SOMETHING from the US is due here today - one of my kickstarter decks. I think.

ETA well, SORT of - my Tarot Goblinko book - whereby hangs a tale.

I'm expecting the Seasonal Fox Tarot Night Deck.  I have been more drawn to animal themed decks recently.  From the photos it's a RWS style deck with the pictures showing strong correlations and traditional suits.  I feel like I can just pick this deck up and read with it, no LWB needed. I like it when the authors don't choose cryptic meanings for the cards.

My Marseille-Waite deck by Emmanuelle Iger got lost in the mail. Funnily enough, I wasn't even too upset as the money was refunded (but I am a bit upset for the owner/author, of course, because this is a loss of money for her). However, it takes things such a long time to arrive here, that sometimes I manage to somewhat change my mind about them. I more or less lost interest to this one and will not try repurchasing. Now I am waiting for the Darkness of Light, that one I definitely want; a full-sized Centennial RWS which I both want and need; and, hilariously, for a poker deck because I want to study that type of cartomancy little by little. It is a Bicycle Aviary deck by Nicholas Matej, with beautiful details, but all faces are the same. I don't mind them being this way though, anyway they are supposed to be purely symbolical.

Thank you! I have been steadily wanting it for a long time. As for buying more decks, I wanted to thank you personally for very thoroughly de-enabling me; what you said of the never-ending cycle of deck purchasing rang absolutely true. If I want more decks even before the previous ones arrived, if I keep buying them... well, I just can't afford it, and besides, for me these would be very neurotic actions - urges without real satisfaction. Funnily enough, I don't even want more decks now, I feel that I am not using my RWS enough, and when I do use it, it serves me well. Thank you!

Glad it was helpful. 😊 It is so freeing to work with only a few decks. I have found the bond to be ever so deeper. Enjoy!

The past few months I have been getting Pokemon cards again. Also some Classic Lego sets.

The family did an advent collection from the (Playmobil) NovelMore series!

I have ordered the Tarot of Tales from Goddess Elite

The lady I spoke with for customer service about the online form not presenting a shipping option (other than in store pickup) was very pleasant and helpful!

About a year ago I bought a Spacious Tarot on sale from an Etsy seller, believing it to be a gently used deck she was reselling. It wasn't until the deck arrived and I saw the QR code that I realized it was a pirated copy. She is no longer on Etsy. 😈 Over the holidays the creators offered a fantastic deal on the deck (that even I could afford), so I ordered an authentic Spacious Tarot which should be arriving today. It feels like an amends made.

@Bodhiseed, so sorry to hear about this experience! I am glad that you benefited from that deal, it was indeed amazing! I was thinking of buying the bundle but then thought maybe later, I have some cards in the mail and want them to arrive before I buy more. Congratulations on your new cards!
