A thread for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, some use two. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your chosen deck for the week.
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you.
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here.
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form.

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in.

Participants:

  1. fire cat pickles: Russian Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards
  2. Rachelcat: Tarot of Japanese Poetry
  3. Bodhiseed: Dark Goddess Tarot paired with the Tattwa Cards
  4. Misterei: TBA
  5. Akhilleus: Golden Tarot by Kat Black

So I haven't had the needed to devote to my Corte dei Tarocchi disappointingly, so I am moving forward with my new Russian Fortune Telling Cards! I already did a "practice" run with them a few days ago and they are scarily accurate. (By "practice" I mean that I already knew the answer to the question I asked, so I was basically confirming with the cards what their feedback would be.) I will post the link to that reading here later.

For this week, I decided I’m going to go with my homemade text version of the Tarot of Japanese Poetry.  The intro and interview are here.  As mentioned, nothing I’m doing is intended to infringe on the copyright!

Since I already did an interview, let’s use the All-Purpose Spread today.

GREAT!  Tower AND Devil in a four-card reading.  ???

Me:  Knave of Autumn

(Autumn is coins.)  I’m someone who cares about enjoyment and beauty.  And I’m a little bit acquisitive!

Issue:  Tower

Uh oh!  Something will go wrong, just because sometimes things go wrong.  But this too shall pass.  Time waits for no woman.

Outcome:  2 of Autumn

After that, things will balance out again, but it trouble will stick with me in my mind.

Advice:  Devil

Art and beauty will heal negative thought patterns.

The poems helped out urgent negativity when I first saw the cards.  (I hope you can see well enough to read the poems.  They’re worth it!)

I'm in this week with the Dark Goddess Tarot paired with the Tattwa Cards.

Thank you Fire Cat! ❤️

I've got jury duty this coming week, and I'll likely have to sit on several juries before I'm released. They've only had about 25% of the jurors showing up. The problem is that so many people are getting evicted here, the notices aren't getting to them.😟

I have that deck. LOVE it. They are called pasyans cards and also there are other versions (ukranian and russian) ... sadly you cant get them now due to the war (the other versions which are sometimes 20 cards instead of 25)

@fire cat pickles can you sign me up as TBA? I can't decide which deck but I do want the challenge this week.

Welcome back @Rachelcat, @Bodhiseed! And @Misterei welcome and I pencil you in for TBA. I am really enjoying my pasyan cards! I did I reading just yesterday that I haven't had time to jot down in my journal. It was very revealing. It gave me one of those "aha" or "I didn't think about that" moments. The meanings are very direct...

This week I'll be using the Dark Goddess Tarot, a deck created by Ellen Lorenzi-Prince and published by Arnell's Art. Along with it, I'll be using a digital set of Tattwas Cards. Today's draws the Hag of Earth and Earth - Seed of Ether:

king%20of%20earth.jpgTattwa16.jpg

Coyote visited She Who Watches, the chief of a prosperous and peaceful people. Coyote warned her that the world was about to change, and asked her how she intended to protect her people. When the chief replied that she would watch over her people for as long as she could, Coyote turned her to stone. The message of this card is to endure without letting despair cloud our eyes. We can honor what was while adapting to what is. The keyword for Earth: Seed of Ether is renewal, a desire to move forward regardless of fear and in spite of our limitations and challenges. As the late Bernie Glassman explained, "When we bear witness, when we become the situation — homelessness, poverty, illness, violence, death — the right action arises by itself. We don’t have to worry about what to do. We don't have to figure out solutions ahead of time... Once we listen with our entire body and mind, loving action arises." May it be so.

The Tower was literal.  My dead lightning-struck tree fell on my garage last night.  Luckily it only crushed my garage and the neighbor's metal shed, not his garage.  Just more stuff to deal with.

In the meantime, today's reading:

Ugh. Sorry about the garage ... we've had $300,000 worth of damage from downed trees on the campus where I live/work. Luckily insurance is covering. Anyway ... love when tarot is SO freakin literal.

Sending you a hug @Rachelcat:animated-smileys-hug-002:Hoping you have insurance or someone to help with the tree removal and repairs.❤️

Thank you so much for the good wishes and hugs!  I need them!  All will be fine.  I just need to figure out what to do and then do it!

Here's my reading about it:
