Help getting to the required 5 posts

New to this Forum, although I was a regular on AT. Could someone tell me how I can get to the 5 minimum posts required before I can be truly active?

The secret to reaching that requirement is to post in the Introductions area. Start a thread and get welcomes and reply.

I am trying to understand too how to get to 5 posts. Coz everytims I even try to reply to all the people who have replied to me there is this 'limit' thing that comes up and does not let me submit my posts.

Hi @Tarotcrazy I moved your other post here to answer both at once.

 

There are no limits posting per day. There are limits until you get to 5 posts to stop spammers here.

If it stops you posting, it tells you in the box above the submit button. It goes a red colour and tell you what is going on. No links or pictures and you have to post at least a certain amount of words and there is a max of 100 words.

 

When you reply to people, you have to have the minimum amount of your own words (the quote doesn't count).

It gets easier after 5 posts when there are no restrictions 🙂

Just an observation: the system seems to say that @Tarotcrazy has only two posts, but they have posted more often than that according to the profile. I wonder if there is something wrong with the account?

Unfortunately postings in this area aren't counted on profiles 😩. It's only in introductions and the main forum areas

I'm brand new and I did read the rules and realize I have to post 5 times but how exactly can I do that?  It won't let me post anywhere except the introductions channel.... Is that the limit of where I can post 5 times?  I also couldn't introduce myself much with a limit of 100 characters.

You should be able to post everywhere that you can view, apart from a few places like Individual Card Meanings, you should be able to join in discussions in Tarot Talk & Technique, the main tarot discussion area.

You can reply to people in your thread as they welcome you, or why not say hi to some of the other intro threads 🙂

Awww, ok I did jump into some different areas and they all said I couldn't post.  I probably did not notice the talk & technique one.  I tend not to be drawn to technique conversations since I rarely use spreads.  I had a reading this morning that involved the 6 of Pentacles and so I jumped into the area to talk about individual cards so I could share my experience but it was a no go... lol  I'll try to find the other section.  Thanks.

Hello @Silk (and for your information @DanielJUK and anyone else having the same problems)

 

We want to encourage a friendly community here so you must post an Introduction post (or this section counts too apparently but we'd much rather you used the intro section) before you can post anywhere else.  It only needs to be a simple introduction, for example, for myself I could write: "Hi I'm Stephanelli, I'm a tarot reader and I've been interested in tarot since I was a teenager and my favourite deck at the moment is the Shadowscapes Tarot."

No worries, @stephanelli ☺️ I’ve been on forums for a long time - things can (and do) get out of hand if there aren’t some limits put in place. It’s sooo nice to have joined a community like here at TT&M where moderators actually care about peaceful interactions~ The only thing that worries me at times is I’m a perfectionist freak when I make typos and stuff 😂 I know I can only edit once, and that freaks me out hahah!! But I understand the reasons for it all. 🙏

It's okay! Don't worry about mistakes, we all make them. ( If it's really bad you can get a mod to help but it's okay if there are the odd mistake).

 

The other thing is that if you like it here, you can subscribe to the forum, you can always edit your posts while your a subscriber.  Just something to consider 😊

Yes I had written an introduction like I said.  I just couldn't see where to make the other posts and Daniel told me what part of the forum to go to.  I did find it very hard to do much of an introduction though with a 100 character limit.

Unfortunately we had to add a max character limit because sometimes members join and spam us with huge posts of text and readings before 5 posts 😭

 

Anyway at 5 posts you have posting freedom!

lol people would just swoop in and start reading, right off the bat? I’m too anxious to do such a thing. My anxiety could never 😭
