fire cat pickles Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 (edited) A thread for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck. No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us! Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. Bodhiseed Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Thank you for your effort in keeping our group going, Fire cat! This week I'll be using the Dark Mansion Tarot, an independently published deck (Taroteca Studio) by Krzysztof Wasiuk and Magdalena Kaczan (artist). I'll also be using Miss Mai's Victorian Oracle, a self-published deck created by Mai (surname unknown). Today's draws are the Ten of Swords and Bat: Nothing will work unless you do. ―Maya Angelou A long list of jobs, friends and partners that last only briefly likely means the problem lies with us, not them. Mentally hitting rock bottom is not a pleasant place, but it can be an eye-opening position if we are open-minded enough to question our ideas and how we express ourselves. Bat suggests we make a sincere effort to see from another point of view rather than just our own. Its use of echolocation suggests we should pay attention to what is reflected back to us when we interact with others. Can we attempt to see from their perspective? Is it possible to just listen without correcting another person? The mental trap of superiority is a lonely place to be. In the eyes of the ego, self-esteem and humility are contradictory. In truth, they are one and the same. ― Eckhart Tolle
Rachelcat Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Hi crew! Good to be starting a new week and good to see you here! Monday on Sunday This week will be Edmund Dulac Tarot. A while ago I topped up my golden age of illustration -based decks, and I’ll be using my new ones for the next few weeks. This one might be my favorite so far. Dulac lived in France and England 1882-1953 and illustrated many books, including those by the Brontës, Poe, Hawthorne, Stevenson, and Yeats and many others. Let’s move on to the interview and then today’s Moon Magick affirmation. For some reason, I totally read this spread backwards. But that seemed to work! What is your most important characteristic? World Everything! The deck shows everything as beautiful, colorful, ethereal, and full of heart. What is your strength? 7 Swords It can reveal deception and what is hidden. The ogre is hidden from the traveler, but the viewer can see it. What is your weakness? 5 Coins Because it’s a fairytale deck, it doesn’t really show true-to-life troubles and problems. Fairytale problems are either glossed over or much more horrendous. This is a beautiful snow scene with a beautiful church rather than a depiction of the people being shut out. But are there people on the roof. What are they doing? What can I learn from you? Death I seem to be getting Death a lot recently . . . Endings and letting go can be beautiful even if sad. Depending on whether what was needful was accomplished. How can I learn it? Emperor The thing I need to learn about Death is that I can end (and begin) anything I want to at any time. I’m in charge of what I want my life to be and what I want to include and leave out, or take out. What will be the outcome of our work together? 6 Cups There will be mutual admiration! I’ll receive the good vibes of the deck in a childlike and positive way. Waxing Crescent 5: I choose to nourish myself and enrich my life. Well, these are both unexpected and challenging! What can I do with them? How should I nourish myself? 10 Swords I should be extreme! I should come up with some weird intellectual plan for nutrition, and then follow it through, even if other people think it’s extreme. I don’t know about this. I’m usually pretty practical when it comes to food, but we’ll see. How do I enrich my life? Hermit I can enrich my life by spending more time not really by myself but with my own thoughts instead of constantly consuming information from others. He’s got his book and his equipment, but he’s coming up with his own ideas from his own observations of the town from above.
