A thread for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

Hiya!  I'm back!  This week will be Feel Your Chakras Oracle Midnight Edition.  I still haven’t figured out how to work with the deck, so this week will be one card a day just to explore the deck and see if it has wisdom for me.

Content and design by Andi Taylor, Metaphysics Made Easy, 2023.  These are text cards with 22 cards per chakra with keyword-based statements, describing the chakra as overactive, balanced, and underactive.  Midnight edition means it has a black background and lovely backs with black backgrounds and flowers of the colors of the chakras.

Let’s try a shortened interview and see what happens.

What is your strength?  Third eye balanced, I see and trust my intuition.

The deck is all about intuition and trusting it.

Weakness?  Throat balanced, I talk and communicate well.

It communicates a lot, but it’s difficult to know how to receive that communication.

What can I learn from you?  Sacral overactive, I feel jealousy.

Um, I can learn how to deal with jealousy?  I don’t think I have that.  Maybe?

What will be the outcome of our work together?  Third eye overactive, I see and can lack clarity.

After a week together, I still won’t have clarity on how to use the deck.  But it’s pretty!

This week I'll be using the New Era Elements Tarot, created by Eleonore Pieper and published by U.S. Games. I'll also be using the Tao Oracle, created by Ma Deva Padma and published by St. Martin's Press. Today's draws are the Sun and The Gentle (Hexagram 57):

Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.
―Oprah Winfrey

The Sun represents a power that energizes us and brings joy, creative growth and clarity. It's easy to get caught up in our daily duties and forget to lift our heads and look for what excites us. Yet even in our busyness, we can keep an eye out for that which inspires and stimulates us. As Ceri Evans explains, "Being internally driven feels different. Instead of feeling the weight of expectation coming down on us from the outside, we feel power flowing up from within." Yet The Gentle (Hexagram 57) encourages us not to get so excited that we inhale it in one bite. Instead, we go slowly and mindfully, appreciating each part while we maintain our clarity.

I'm back after a week's absence traveling to Yogyakarta, Java.  No time for Tarot play.  I would like to continue on with the Cirque du Tarot.

I purchased the The Tarocco delle Vetrate (Stained Glass) a few months back but never used it until a few days ago.

The deck has lovely saturated colors and imagery that follows a traditional Tarocco or TdM type. Some of the images feel modern. It's not going for a historic vibe. Morgan Greer and Radiant Wise Spirit are my most colorful decks. Normally I prefer a subdued palette ... but this one hits.

Published by Dal Negro. Printed in Italy. I purchased it from an outfit in Bulgaria since no vendors in US carried it.

Of note: only the Trumps are labeled with names or numbers. The Minors you must look carefully b/c no label or number of any sort.

I am using "Tirage" style here. I will pull one major for each position with the option to add a Minor if needed. [full text below picture]

1.     Energy: Describes the deck’s essence / overall vibe = Ruota della Fortuna

This deck is a good all rounder. It will read on any topic at hand.

2.     Timing: Why has the deck come to me now? / Why do I feel drawn to this deck now? = Il Diavolo

EEEE! The sense of humor on this deck!!! This Devil is a friendly, carnivale sort of character and the card itself is surreal. It PERFECTLY evokes my new friendship with Mister Devil. After my experience of 15 months living at the extremely oppressive strict spiritual community ... I'm quite happily eating meat, drinking alcohol, taking gummies, and generally doing whatever the f*ck I want to do. Devil is my card of the moment. My new best friend. And it *is* a surreal moment in my long life full of weirdness and sudden changes.

3.     Teaching: What can the deck teach me? What areas will it help me explore? = La Forza

Nice. As a [hopefully temporarily] disabled person I'm truly struggling with issues of being strong enough to live my own life in spite of the disabilities.

4.     Challenge: How will the deck challenge me? What might I find difficult to work with? = Il Mondo + 6 swords

I didn't understand World as a challenge so picked a clarifier. The deck would challenge me to end my past ways of looking at things and bring a more balanced mental perspective. It will challenge me to release the past and move on.

5.     Limits: What areas are NOT this deck's expertise? For what topics should I read a different deck? = La Stella.

Health and healing? Hmmm. ok.

6.     Grace: In what areas will the deck and I organically connect and flow together? = Il Bagatto. This deck has a wicked clever sense of humor. This hits for me.

7.  Whisper: the deck’s message / guidance for this moment = Temperance

With my H8 so activated atm ... all kinds of emotions and emotional transformations are churning. Ultimately I must integrate these shadows into my psyche. And accept the shadow sides of those I love.

I felt sort of "iffy" about this deck at first. I feel an affection for the deck after this interview. It had me when it served Diavolo as the Timing card 😉 Thanks @fire cat pickles for facilitating a space to bond [or not] with our new decks!
