A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

This weeks reading will be centered around this:

1  Tell me about yourself. What is your most important characteristic?

2  What are you strengths as a deck?

3  What are your limits as a deck?

4  What do you require from me in return? How can I best collaborate with you?

5  For what kind of questions do you speak most clearly?

6  How can I further my (Quest) walk this week?

Welcome to the group @PathWalker! I've been slowly going through my collection too.

Also the DoW Group is a fun and enlightening way to share how your decks can work for others, to highlight new or unique reading techniques and spreads, and perhaps to introduce new decks for other members.

I'm in.  I'm continuing to read through the very big guide book for The Ark Tarot and Oracle deck by Bernadette King.3Swords.jpeg.0e17f92c884410a074b314cba73e1a6c.jpeg

Thank you Fire cat! I'm in with the Vision Quest Tarot paired with the Bird Cards combined with the Ascension to Paradise.

From the Vision Quest Tarot, Torment (Devil); from the Bird Cards, the Crow:

Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Like I've been tied to the whippin' post.
―Gregg Allman

The Devil in Thoth-speak tells us we should follow our desires and be who we are (not necessarily bad advice). Yet that freedom comes with a caveat - don't forget our interconnection to all people and things. As soon as our actions have stomped on someone's toes and elbowed someone in the face, we will have to pay the piper. In our excitement to do what we desire, we forget that our liberty can't infringe on the freedom of others. Dr. Kevin McGowan, who has studied the Crow for thirty years, says "they never do anything quietly or alone." Their family group lives within a larger community, with different groups changing every day. Their message is to learn to "do your own thing" but without harming yourself or the community. As Ruth Bader Ginsburg stated, ""Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you."

Hi, everyone!  Good to see we're already here!  For me this week will be Oracle of Heaven and Hell, a redo combining Travis McHenry’s Angel Tarot and Occult Tarot, with double-headed cards with keywords and occult seals (and no tarot attributions).  The booklet includes Psalm verses and the times and dates associated with the angels and demons.  So a continuation of last week with a different deck using the keywords on the cards this time instead of my homemade ones.  (I guess at a certain point I should compare them.)

And it looks like I’ll have to shuffle for reversals.  Let’s see how it goes!

3 demons then 3 angels.

What is your most important characteristic?  Infamy

Love this!  The deck brings forward demons as almost equals with angels.  Infamous!

What is your strength?  Dangerous writings

Same!  Learning about demons might be seen as dangerous.  I don’t.  But the deck will definitely bring this information to a larger audience.

Your weakness?  Fines and unfair costs

Very personal to me:  I already bought the two tarots, but really all I needed is this deck!

What can you teach me?  Obedience

Never!  I don’t want to learn obedience, unless it’s obedience to morality and justice and my own truth.

How can I learn it?  Universal medicine

I will feel positive about following rules if I know they’re healthful for me and others.

What will be the outcome of our work together?  Fertility and multiplicity

The deck will help me refine and expand my shem studies.

I’m in for it!

Hi, good morning!

Here in Canada it cooled down a bit and I can think straight again!

Week 3 with the "Tarot" and the Orishas!

Well, I do not think this one is a Tarot deck in the true sense.

It has 77 cards

It has 25 "principal Cards" comparable to a Mayor Arcana. These are not numbered and have no sequence, they are all gods of the Aruba pantheon.

Most of these are not comparable to any of our Mayors.

It has 52 "secondary cards" comparable to a minor Arcana, that are divided into the 4 Elements which include 4 so called "Messages of the Elements" - 1 for each element.

On the other hand, the book refers to multiple correspondences with numerology and quite a few to the Kabbalah, Yahweh and Kundalini....

for right no I personally am thinking: "Quite a wild mix!"
