A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

Thank you Fire cat! I'm in this week with the Anna K Tarot paired with the Meditation Cards.

Look after the land and the land will look after you, destroy the land and it will destroy you.
—Aboriginal Proverb

Judging by the dangerous smile of this Empress, it's likely someone tried to hurt the ringtail hiding beneath her dress. She is the archetypal Mother Earth, supplying beauty and resources in abundance, yet she demands these things not be used indiscriminately or without respect. Like the typical mom, she loves to give but won't hesitate to dole out some discipline when it's needed. The quote for River of Humanity is written by Satish Kumar:

When we write a poem, we make a gift. When we paint a picture or build a beautiful home, we make a gift. When we grow flowers and cook food, we make a gift. When all these activities are performed as sacred acts, they nourish society.

Whatever we offer with an attitude of love is a worthy gift. And how we treat the gifts we're given shows our nature as being entitled or selfless and appreciative.

I am continuing my study of the Inner Child cards by Isha Lerner and Mark Lerner.  I have a confession to make, though.  Yesterday I received the Witch's Wisdom deck.  While being driven around doing errands in the largest city of Bali,5Cups.jpeg.aec1e8b2a810d4492d57d4aeb3a1101d.jpeg Denpasar, I was munching my way through more than a third of the guidebook of the latter.  I am intrigued.

Hello, my deck loving friends!  I’m going to try something a little different this week.  I’m going to use the Lynyrd-Jym Marquez Narciso, Parluman Studio, majors-only decks that I have all together (5 of them):

Tarot of the Curious East, a landscape deck featuring various Asian art styles

Nota Bene Tarot Bookmarks, whimsical elongated monotone drawings

Tarot of PsyChicks, possibly a prototype of Ly’s US Games-published Vanessa Tarot

Tarot Resom ("Moser" backwards), in the Wiener Secession style of Ditha Moser

Tarot 2-12-1-3-11 (numerological spelling of “black”), a RWS clone with the human figures in black

I’m pretty sure he gifted me the minis (and the bookmarks?) when I purchased the Curious East many years ago.

I’m also pretty sure he hand-made the box and all the cool envelopes.

So I’m going to draw one major a day and look at all 5 variations as we go.  First question:  how will this deck of the week plan work out?

Strength

(Some are 8, some are 11, some are not numbered, but all are lions!)

This way of using the same card from each deck will show the decks’ strengths.  And they will provide powerful readings even though they are arty and/or whimsical.

This is so much fun!  I'm loving the exposure to these 5 different Majors only decks. Please keep sharing your draws with the pictures.

I have nearly all of Lynryd's tarots, aren't they wonderful?

So I've been using the Greenwood this week, alongside other decks, in my Tarot Ancestors work. I've just been using the cards, not reading either version of text, and I must say I'm enjoying them very much, even the majors as animals has been enlightening.I never understand why the decck is so much more sought-after than some others  - but it it for me certainly a deck I keep even if I was down to my last dozen or so! Though I hope to never have to cull that much
