A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

Life is what I am making it, and I am what life is making me.
—Paula Arai

Judging this relationship by the sleeping bear, it appears to be in full hibernation. Trying to wake it at this point will only make it grumpy and hostile. The mature response would be to walk away before things devolve further, before there is harm done that can't be undone. In time, our distress will likely turn to relief. Nexus comes from Latin roots meaning ‘a binding together;’ it is a connection point where many elements meet. Buddhism teaches that causes bring about the production or arising of something while conditions help shape the identity of what is produced or arises. These form who each of us are, including our inclination to behave in certain ways. Some people will work to change these patterns, but others will think they are perfectly fine the way they are. Yet once we recognize them, we can choose not to pair ourselves with those who have such propensities.

I'm continuing to study the Witches' Wisdom Tarot.  It's a beautiful deck.  I knew that the Major Arcana cards had been re-worked.  So it seems have some of the Minor Arcana.  So this is not a beginner's deck.  Of course any deck can be read intuitively, but to fully benefit from what this deck has to offer it's going to take constant referring to the Guide Book until the meanings are internalized.  This not a RWS clone.

Hi everyone!  Thanks, fire cat!  I hope you’re all having lots of tarot fun these days!  My second week of Halloween is “costume ideas,” consisting of Spirit Tarot Cards by Spirit Halloween, and Haunted Halloween Oracle Deck, an AI deck from Turkey (Divination Hub) that I found on Etsy.

I got the Spirit Tarot as a giveaway at NWTS last year, and I was surprised how good it is.  It has a spiky illustration of a creature or character for each card.  (And strange numerical and astro attributions, but I enjoyed listing them out!)

I’ve been avoiding AI decks, but thought the Haunted Halloween would be fine because basically it’s a name, a descriptive phrase, and three keyword plus the illustration.  Some of the illustrations are odd, like “The Storm” card shows a rope?  There’s one mistake of the wrong description on the card.  I like that there are 78 cards (not tarot though), so of course there are some near repeats, like two witches and several ghosts.  But I like it better than the Stacey Demarco Blue Angel Halloween Oracle, which has only 36 cards with several “skull” cards. So I guess I’m going for quantity over quality here!

Let’s see what they can do!

What is your most important characteristic?  The Devil, Demon

Has the traditional face in the abdomen, only sideways.  And he’s pretty scary!

The deck is intended to be scary.  And a little silly.  But effective.

What is your strength?  Eight of Cups, Pirate

Not just a pirate, a skeleton pirate!  He’s moving on in his ship to a more emotionally satisfying situation.

The deck gives readers lots of new and different content to work with, intellectually (8=Mercury) and emotionally (cups).

Your weakness?  Page of Wands, Necromancer

Some of the creatures/characters are a bit nebulous or obscure, which takes away from their power (wands).

What can you teach me?  The Emperor, Sphinx

The deck goes long on Egyptian symbolism here.

It can teach me to take charge of my readings and maybe also my tarot attributions.

How can I learn it?  Queen of Cups, Gorgon

Medusa is one of the three gorgon sisters.

I can take charge by using my intuition, my lizard (or in this case snake) brain.

What will be the outcome of our work together?  Six of Pentacles, Arachne

Not sure what the idea is behind this attribution.  She has some skulls so coins I guess.  But why 6?

I will enjoy the deck and feel like I have mastered using it as a physical object.

What is your most important characteristic?  The Rose

The deck brings out the beauty and pain of spooky subjects.

What is your strength?  The Cackling Witch

It communicates easily and joyfully.

Your weakness?  The Ghostly Apparition

But it can sometimes be nebulous.  And as mentioned have too many ghosts.

What can you teach me?  The Cursed Jewel

Not everything people consider valuable is actually beneficial.

How can I learn it?  The Skull

By using my head!  And remembering nothing lasts forever.

What will be the outcome of our work together?  The Owl

I will actually learn something from all of the darkness.

Ooo, this sounds very fun so far!
