A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

I'm in this week with Deirdre of the Sorrows Tarot paired with the Victorian Flower Oracle - thank you Fire cat! ❤️

Our most precious resource now is wonder. What we wonder ignites our imagination, unleashes our empathy, fuels our ferocity. ― Amy Irvine

This Magician shows us our card hand - the resources we have available to create a life of contentment. We must use them judiciously, carefully crafting our vision. The Flower Ball, a card of happiness, suggests that what we develop should be based in joy rather than out of anger, arrogance or fear. We don't want to end up with something that makes our life a living hell. As Amit Ray wrote, "If you are driven by fear, anger or pride, nature will force you to compete. If you are guided by courage, awareness, tranquility and peace, nature will serve you."

This week I am playing with Tarot of the Four Elements by Isha Lerner and Amy Ericksen.  I have wanted this deck for years.  I like the bright colors.  Some of the cards, particularly the Majors, are really great.X.jpeg.4eee60d125c9fa572fb2f59a07fa7e16.jpeg

These two seemed too perfectly paired not to share!

Deirdre of the Sorrows Tarot, Death; Victorian Flower Oracle, Hemlock

Death lends profound equality to all. ~Joan Halifax

We humans crave stability and security, desperate for something we can count on not to fall apart or disappear. Yet Death cares not; he swings his scythe wide and cuts down whatever is in its path making space for the new. We may escape a few sweeps, but we will not escape them all. As the Hemlock card symbolizes, we may feel as if we have been deceived and cheated. Yet as Vanessa Z. Goddard writes, "We can learn to move with instead of against that change, seeing that the stability we're looking for lies in our own ability to flow, not freeze."

I’m here, I’m here!  Yesterday was my first day back to work after two weeks, so busy busy!  But now I think I have a minute for cards!  This week will be Familiar Field Oracle.  It’s not like I needed another animal deck, but I couldn’t resist the art!  I guess I haven’t left my flat art phase yet.  I wasn’t crazy about the artist’s tarot, so animals it is.  I also like the three keywords per card.  It’s a US Games deck of 60 cards divided into groups of land, sky, and water.

Interview!

What is your most important characteristic?  Frog, voice, progress, cleansing

The deck has something to say.  And it’s straightforward, clean in its intent.

What is your strength?  Impala, intensity, vigilance, speed

Again, it’s very to the point, like those pointy antlers.  Intense but careful.

Your weakness?  Butterfly, transformation, beauty,  hope

Some keywords can be cliched, like transformation.

What can you teach me?  Panda, solitude, tranquility, contentment

Well, it would be good if the panda can teach me that.  I already enjoy these things.  I just need more contentment!

How can I learn it?  Mouse, focus, conservation, modesty

I can focus on my blessings that I already have.  And realize my needs are modest.

What will be the outcome of our work together?  Leopard, power, swiftness, ambition

Leopards have the strongest jaws of any cats, so power for sure.  And I like ambition:  they know what they want and go for it!  I will appreciate the simplicity yet power of this deck.

Well, we’ll see!
