Hey, @JoyousGirl. I'm posting over here, since I won't be talking about the current 2 of Wands... I'm down in the southern hemisphere with you. I don't have plans to switch it up, but if you want the card to match our current autumn season, one thought is that you could start with the opposite side of the circle/world and move around. It would mean looking at the 2 of Swords too.

The downside of course is that there is no blog entry for the 2 of Swords on Meleen's blog and won't be until September.

Curious if you have any other ideas? 🙂

Hi @Rose Lalonde I'm not worried about Meleen's blog. I tend to do things my own way anyway 😄

Yes, I'm looking at the 2 of Swords - and immediately wondering if it should be some sort of integration process a-la yin/yang. As part of the cycle, it's met with and prepares for its "opposite". I'm not sure what I'll do. I might go and have a look now.

I have always wondered how all this works in the Southern Hemisphere. We're talking about the night sky - and the zodiac is the same. The constellations look different in each place in the world - you have a very different night sky if you live in Norway, Hawaii or Chile. I even see a difference when I travel to my mother in Europe. I can't see the Scorpion's tail from there.

So Aries is Aries, but its energy works differently in nature because the seasons are different. I have always wanted to know how people in the Southern Hemisphere deal with that! And I have read a lot about fixed stars lately - you see different stars that never appear on our night skies, so there are probably subtle and not-so-subtle differences.

@Nemia, I'm replying over here, since it's not about Aries 1, but for me personally, I'm used to thinking about the decan a card stands for in a reading based on northern hemisphere seasons (possible because I grew up there before moving down here). If I get the 10 of Cups, it's leading up to the spring equinox. If I tried to flip it, the lead up to the solstice wouldn't fit the card for me.

That said, for something like the decan walk where you're following along in real time, I can see where you might want to start a decan walk in September for our spring and look at the 2 of Wands then. But like you, I'm a big fan of Meleen's work, so for this decan walk, I'm starting with the 2 of Wands now so I can work with Meleen's posts as they go up. It's not like I can't think about the mythology of the spring out of season. For myself, I don't mind.

But all of that is just me. I can definitely see where someone would want the symbolism the card is based on to match the current season, which for us down here right now, would be the 2 of Swords.
