Rachelcat Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 Hi, @fire cat pickles! That's an ambitious combination you've got there! Enjoy! For me this week will be Kate Forsyth’s Fairytale Oracle. Kate Forsyth is a fairytale scholar and author from Australia. The deck consists of cards of 4 important items or people from 11 well-known stories. The book has a short version of the story and “history of the tale,” along with a keyword, “dark face” and “bright face” key phrases, a description, and “meaning” for each card. The illustrations are beautiful but not sweet, and the cards are linen. 44 cards means I can do a regular 6-card interview. Here we go! What is your most important characteristic? Glass Slipper, Recognition The most important thing about this deck is that the stories are familiar, therefore they deck is easy to read. What is your strength? The Kiss, Integration The deck reinterprets some items to be more psychologically valid: Instead of being about romantic love (and problematic because of consent), the kiss of Sleeping Beauty is about joining divided parts of ourselves. Your weakness? Dagger, Seize the Sword The mermaid’s sisters cut off their hair to give to the sea witch to get her back. In exchange the sea witch gives them a knife so that if she stabs her prince, his blood will turn her back into a mermaid. She refuses and throws the dagger away. Maybe cutting off communication with your family isn’t the flex the author thinks it is. What can you teach me? Midnight Clock, Time Flies The deck can teach me carpe diem. Live in the now. How can I learn it? Fairy Godmother, Assistance Both Cinderella. Plus the first card. Sometimes we need reminders to carpe diem. Stay tuned in to that. What will be the outcome of our work together? Wolf, Don’t be afraid of your wild side I love this illustration! The girl befriends and becomes the fearless wolf. Ok! The deck will help me be more open and out of the box, in readings and in life.
Christina Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 Hi guys! I'm in this week with the Dreamkeeper's Tarot and the Earthly Souls & Spirits Moon Oracle!
Bodhiseed Posted June 10, 2025 Posted June 10, 2025 Thank you Fire cat for keeping us rolling! I'm in this week with the Neuzeit Tarot paired with Rory's Story Cubes: The first time you make something, follow the recipe, then figure out how to tailor it to your own tastes. ―Ruth Reichl When I pulled this tarot in the dim light of morning, I could have sworn it was a club DJ mixing some music. But the Magician is similar, in that he uses his tools and resources to create something. Like the DJ, he might manifest what is expected, following directions that are given. But when he realizes that he has a gift - though perhaps not like others - he can expand how things are mixed and made. As the Scales show, just doing things to please others can create imbalances. In the words of Carl Jung, "The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases."
