FindYourSovereignty Posted June 17 Posted June 17 (edited) In the Decan Walk post for this decan, M.M. Meleen shares some thoughts about the 10S and the Gemini Twins. Having been born an identical twin, this has been a subject of my whole lifetime: comparisons, judgements, competition albeit not intentional. Often getting asked, "What's it like being a twin?" Well, I want to know "What's it like not being a twin?" In our world, the similarities are strong, but the differences are huge, too. An area we both have really found frustrating is our birth charts or assessment programs using birthdates. We are not experiencing life the same at all. On another note, I've met a new friend that is recognizing my need to make some new career choices and that has been very exciting and will hopefully end my current cycle of pausing. It feels very much like what I imagine a 10S experience could be: a true death of something that can no longer be so that something beautiful and miraculous can grow. In Meleen's post she references a saying about breaking through the dense mind, I feel like I am breaking through a dense block, freeing myself from fear, stagnation, hiding. It is weird, because I don't ever feel like I am hiding, but this breaking free feels like that. I am off to play with my cards. Wishing everyone a breakthrough 3rd Decan of Gemini. Rose Lalonde Posted June 19 Author Posted June 19 (edited) Finally getting at least some cards out on my desk. A tenacious flu and missed work is making mole hills feel like mountains. But I have plenty of tea and sinus meds. On 6/17/2025 at 9:40 PM, FindYourSovereignty said: In the Decan Walk post for this decan, M.M. Meleen shares some thoughts about the 10S and the Gemini Twins. I never really thought about how twins must wonder what it's like to not be twins. As a kid I was fascinated by twins. Perhaps because I was an only child and used to have imaginary friends etc. when playing or pretended a doll was my sister. (My poor mother actually worried about that until a psychologist friend told her it was normal for my age.) But I had a rose-tinted idea that siblings would always be best friends. I was a big fan of the Boxcar Children stories, even though they had been written looong before I was born. Four orphaned siblings who hide out to stay together. But these days what comes to mind is the many sets of twins in -- of all things --- Elden Ring, and how they're so different, like Castor and Pollux or Cain and Abel from Meleen's post. Or even this story in your post about how the charts show the same for both twins, but your lived experience is so different. Anyway... Gemini isn't the cheeriest in tarot. I know there are many reasons, but the thing that strikes me is how the Golden Dawn Society ideal - and in the RWS and Thoth also -- is an end to dualism in Temperance where, especially in the Thoth as Art, you literally see 2 become 1. Actually, looking at Meleen's Book M again, I see how much Temperance is mentioned in the Lovers' section. In the Lovers, the most we can do to create the appearance of 1 is to choose. The Hebrew letter for the Lovers means Sword, more suited to cutting than joining. For Temperance, Crowley says, "This card represents the Consummation of the Royal Marriage which took place in Atu VI. The black and white personages are now united in a single androgyne figure." So I tend to assume Gemini cards are firmly rooted in opposites, day and night, immortal and mortal, like Castor and Pollux. Only drawn together as far as being twins can bring us, for now. But the Sun leans us toward the light side and tomorrow. Even as it too often relates to twins. As you said, may it be a breakthrough in what comes after the difficulty of the 10 of Swords. -------------- EDIT: I had the above written, and then someone very close to my husband died. Like family to him these many years. I'm sad for my husband and for this person's family. I didn't expect this 10 of S time to be so 10 of S. Edited June 19 by Rose Lalonde
