Bodhiseed Posted yesterday at 12:23 PM Posted yesterday at 12:23 PM Thank you Fire cat! I'm in this week with the Stone Tarot paired with the Buddhist Quote Cards. Gardens are not made by singing 'Oh, how beautiful!' and sitting in the shade. ― Rudyard Kipling Whether it's TV ads or social media, we've been groomed to think doing most anything should be easy. Working full time but want a college degree? No problem, just sign up for our online classes and we'll send you a degree. Want to plant a lush vegetable garden? Buy our tiller and you won't even break a sweat. The Amazon/Knight of Pentacles knows that nothing comes to fruition without a diligent effort - many involved steps come before reaching our goals. The Dhammapada quote reads: "It is up to you to make strong effort; buddhas merely tell you how." The intellectual pleasure we get from talking and planning things won't compare to the enjoyment of actually physically producing it, even with the dedicated work it requires.
Rachelcat Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Hi, all! I hope we're all doing well this week! This week will be Oracle of the Trees. It’s a niche deck that I needed: just trees without other plants and not ogham (but it does include mistletoe, grapevines, and reeds). It’s mostly based on myths and legends. The art isn’t great, but I can deal with that. 32 cards. Let’s see what the trees have to say in a short interview. What is your strength? The Bodhi Tree It is an aid to meditation, clarity, and calm. Your weakness? The Hollow Tree Opening, birth, mystery, fountain of youth, home for wisdom or owl. Meta: Too many meanings for one card. It wants to be a gateway to too many ideas. What can I learn from you? The Hanging Tree Well, that doesn’t seem good! Booklet directly refers to tarot Hanged One, Odin, and Pinocchio, who in the original story was hanged by the wolf and the fox in order to get him to drop his coins. Very hanged man. I can learn the positives and negatives of all the trees and cards. Punishment and wisdom are both necessary. 4. What will be the outcome of us working together? Christmas Tree The deck will be a gift and a sign of life, hope, and good cheer. Not so sure after the previous card! We’ll see!
Tanga Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago The Witches Wisdom Oracle & The Witches Wisdom Tarot ~ by Phyliss Curott. Left: Boundaries. I have been stretching myself thin over the past 2 weeks & beginning to feel like "stop the world, I want to get off". 🙂 Right: 3 of Water & The Pilgrim. What a peaceful 3 of Cups - just what I need as remedies. Time with peaceful friends (the ones happy to sit and chat aimlessly all afternoon drinking tea), and time on my own in the the wild (whether that be out in nature, or within the inner wilds of myself). Infarct I see myself in this card just this evening - as I was out in the dark at 10pm scattering some food for the foxes. One particular one whom I've named Londtail - crept quietly up behind me (about 2 metres away) and was already eating the food. She's clocked that I'm fox friendly and seems to always be waiting for me - whatever time I'm out in the evening (likely hieghtened hearing recognises the sound of my back gate & maybe my smell). I figure she has pups - which may be why she's so keen on food.
