ilweran Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 So, pulling two cards out at random from the mystical Lenormand, I get Storks and the Horse Rider. (This isn't an actual reading, just an example to see if I have the right idea.) So could that be along the lines of the changes being kickstarted by some good news? But it would be different if they were the other way round? Struggling a bit with this!
DanielJUK Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 (edited) Yes you have the right idea People read Lenormand differently but for me, I look at the pictures as well as having a meaning or some keywords for each card. Some cards it's important which way they are facing for example Scythe, it is the sharp end or the blunt end facing or like clouds, is it clouds or sunshine next to the card? But I always look at the art and see which way they are looking at each other. for me,.... Storks means nesting (like home / family), change is on the way and journeys, Rider means news, movement and action. So you you are right about this change with good news, it could be news about travel or new momentum or maybe a baby is on the way 🙂 or a metaphorical new birth! If it was the other way around, perhaps a new car (rider = transport) is about to arrive or moving house (nest) or going travelling to a new location. Both cards have mutual themes of movement and change. I am not so strict in my readings about which way round, I look more if they look at each other in direction or not. With Mystical the Storks look towards the upcoming Rider in that order, news of something new that will change things. Edited May 28, 2019 by DanielJUK
ilweran Posted May 28, 2019 Author Posted May 28, 2019 Thank you! I did consider a baby being on the way as a possible interpretation. I get the direction facing thing, I do that with tarot cards, so that's a transferable skill 😁 Now I know I'm on the right track, I shall persevere. (I know I could Google stuff, but it's so much nicer to talk to people!)
Flaxen Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Good to see you getting stuck in, @ilweran. I don’t have much to add to @DanielJUK‘s reply. If this was a reading for myself, I’d go for a line of 3 cards to help give an idea of what all that change/news is about. You can then read the cards from left to right like a sentence but also combine cards 1+2, 2+3 and 1+3 to help with a clearer picture.
