Greetings everyone,

A bit about my tarot journey:

I stepped into the Haunted Bookshop in Arizona, circa 1991. A large and lovely store that managed a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, I simply began to wander and enjoy. Striding past the counter, I noticed a Thoth Tarot deck displayed in a case. On the cover was the Magus, a being levitating with tools of creation floating around him . It was as if nothing else in the room existed. I purchased without hesitation. Discovering the Tarot was akin to finding an old friend that did not need words, a hug or handshake.

It ended up being a large, "greenie"  version that I still have own. I use it once a year, on my birthday.

My website is currently down, but I am pleased to realize while typing this that I have been now reading for 28 years (with some hiatus in-between) and professionally serving clients for over a decade.
The standard sized Thoth is my go-to deck for both myself and querents in my practice. While I almost always use the Thoth in sessions, I have branched out personally. Current decks in my rotation include the Wildwood, the darkness of Light, the Tarot of Shadows (Russian) and the Wisdom of the Oracle.

The area most in need of enrichment is my knowledge of Astrology. It just does not, "stick" with me.

My newest journey is Lenormand -- I just acquire the beautiful Gilded Reverie pack. I'm uncertain if I shall pursue, but it is a fun fling thus far.

I'm glad to be here. I look forward to interacting with all of you soon.

Thank you Decan and @joy for the warm welcome. Decan the Lenormand is so immensely different than Tarot, but I have a dear friend who is learning Lenormand first. As a result we are bouncing off one another quite well. I enjoy it, and will most definitely post my questions, observations and  progress.

Thanks you two

Hello and welcome @Wyrdkiss 🙂

I would also encourage you to continue with Lenormand. It is a lot of fun! I am currently re-reading Caitlin Mathhew's "The Complete Lenormand Oracle" and highly recommend it for studying the system.

Thanks I'll explore that book and pass title on to Friends as well. Cheers.

Hello and Welcome!

I have a large greenie too, and Wildwood in my current rotation. And I have the same situation with astrology too!

Welcome to the Forum @Wyrdkiss, it's so interesting to have someone with such a vast experience around.

Welcome Wyrdkiss!  I am always looking for mentors in our teaching program here.  If you'd like to mentor a student in how to read tarot, please PM me.  I need 2 more mentors at least!

Hi, @Wyrdkiss:animated-smileys-waving-065:

There are so many stunning Lenormand decks out there, (and two of them are in my cabinet unopened, I haven’t taken the plunge yet!)

Nice to meet you! 🙂

That's fascinating we have such similar experience and tastes in decks. It's difficult to stay true to the spirit and vision of Thoth with a more limited knowledge of deep astrology and Thelema, but I'm pleased to know others are in my boat 🙂   Thanks for the warm welcome.

I see that you've been here a week, but since you're new to me; hi and welcome, @Wyrdkiss

You have an exciting background and interests 😃

Great with members with Thoth knowledge. I'm not there yet, trying to learn some Astrology and Kabbalah first.

The Darkness of Light is one of my favorites as well, I'm looking forward to the 3rd edition coming soon.

And I've also bought a Lenormand deck recently, but it's still unopened.

Hope you will enjoy yourself here 🙂

Greetings and thank you kaiNo!  I appreciate the heads up about the darkness of light tarot returning; I've a friend who wants a copy immensely. Cheers and see you on the forums.

Well, Thank you! (And I know that you know it’s from the Monstarot; it’s The Empress 🙂 )

Far as Darkness of Light, Tony DiMauro seems a great guy too. He’s been so kind on mail, and he mentioned only a short while ago that the third edition is already at the printers. So, yes, coming soon.

Unfortunately I think I like the second edition more, and that one is sold out.

(But it’s difficult to tell too, from a few small pics. Maybe the third edition is the best ever... )

Anyway, I’d agree he is a great artist, seem a great guy, and a great deck ( I’m mostly not into darker decks, but I mean, I’ve got eyes!) 🙂

Nordica, greetings from California once again.  I am happy to post some pics of the 3rd edition Darkness of Light. I ordered it if you have not yet.  That way you can see before you buy, as he does not have many pics up of the cards with the new white borders. He did tell me personally that the minor arcana still retain that nice subtle color change between the 4 suits.  I"ll probably keep the 2nd edition as a back-up, but we can certainly explore a trade if I do not. Cheers.

Please forgive me, I missed this post!

California has such a nice ring to it. 🙂

If you’re not keeping the 2nd Ed. you can always ask me. Trouble is I’m kind of broke this year, and don’t have much to trade with.

Of course, that could change, so feel free to ask if that day comes!

(Thanks for thinking of me!)

Greetings Nordica,

I am keeping my 2nd Ed Darkness to Light as a back-up. But look at how vibrant and gorgeous the new 3rd Edition is!  I like it better, and would encourage you to consider getting it instead of the 2nd ED expensive out of print version. If such a move is financially viable for you, of course. It is not super expensive online so I wanted to post a pic to see what you think:

Thanks for the picture!

I really feel that the 2:nd Ed. look better. 🙂

(I saw it on ebay for around 50-60 dollars, but can’t spend more money on tarot decks this year.)

Happy reading with yours! 🙂

Yes they are both amazing.  Congrats on the restraint -- and much love to the decks you have!

Greetings everyone,

Life has pulled me away from some time. Just wanted to say hello, and that I  enjoyed replying a few minutes ago to a prior thread I missed.

Cheers to those reading and have a safe evening.
