Hi I'm New 👋

Featured Replies

Hello. I have just joined and really exited at the start of my tarot learning curve. I bought a deck because a medium told me I have an ability that is not tapped into and I am curious to see where this leads me. I just did my first reading on myself and got all arrow cards. Is this a good sign?

Welcome to the forum @georgiebandit It is exciting to learn something new. If your deck came with a little white book, you should read it. I'm assuming the deck you bought is not exactly a Rider Waite Smith deck, so it might be more difficult to learn on as well.

There is a mentor program here on the forum that you can join. I'm in it too, and it's really great.

Hi, @georgiebandit:animated-smileys-waving-065:

There’s a lot of learning resources here! Nice to meet you! 🙂

Hi @georgiebandit! So glad that you decided to join us! This is a great place to be as you continue on your tarot journey. Like @ashjey and @Nordica De Spell mentioned, there are great learning resources here, including the mentor program.

Hi and welcome!

Thank you all.  I have a wild wood tarot deck. The images appealed to me. I’m working through the book slowly but I’m really open to a new chapter in my life.

Hi & welcome. 🙂

A preponderance of a certain suit definitely has meaning! But it would be helpful if you let us know the name of your deck. The standard Tarot suits don't include arrows - they could be equivalent to wands (because of wooden shafts) or swords (because arrows stick into things).  Your deck is fine to use, I think most of us have a favorite or two that uses nonstandard suits. One of my own favorites, the Vamp, uses the four passions of Fear, Jealousy, Hope and Love. But for discussion purposes, we need to be able to equate a suit with one of the "regular" suits: wands/batons, cups, swords, and pentacles/coins.

ETA - Ah, the Wildwood. You posted as I was typing. Arrows are swords in that one. This should help: https://www.biddytarot.com/tarot-card-meanings/minor-arcana/suit-of-swords/

I hope the link works to see the deck I have. I really need to do some more homework on the basic decks and suits.

The arrows are from the minor arcana, and that’s the first thing to consider.

And in the companion book to The Wildwood, there’s a lot of information behind the individual suits. It’s a great companion book, if you’re drawn to the wildwood.

But in general, I don’t consider tarot cards as good or bad. Some do, so I can understand your question. But it’s also a bit of a superstition thing, or unknown thing, you know... when we first try to learn the tarot... that we’re unsure whether some cards are ”bad.”

I think you getting ”all arrows” point to something, and is a message of something, but please also remember that tarot cards change, as does life. Especially the minor arcana are cards that doesn’t necessarily stick around for a long time... (and that doesn’t mean that they’re without valid message for you as of right now, though.) 🙂

Hi bandit!  If you are interested in the mentor program here, let me know and I can admit you.  Just reply on this post.

Thank you @Nordica De Spell. I do feel in transition at the moment so that would make a lot of sense if the arrows are pointing to a change in life maybe.
