If You Could Pick a Person, Anyone You Like (Dead or Alive), To do a Reading for: Who Would It Be, And What Deck Would You Use?

So this might seem like an odd reply. But I would actually want to read for a very specific person whom I don't know the exact identity of yet. The thing is that some time after I joined the forum (which is, of course, right about 2 years now 😉) , I begun to see an older male person (a spirit), that I understood was connected to someone that I interacted with. I would see him on and off and it was obvious that he was hoping to reach out to someone and communicate with them. I received some clues but never was able to pinpoint who his relative was. So my hope is that I will, by synchronicity, do a reading for his relative (whom I believe to be a female, and a native English speaker like himself. He would most likely be her father, and I believe she would also have older children herself because he is referring to a grandchild - someone who has inherited a specific item of his) and I hope that he would then get the opportunity to come forth and connect. I would probably want to use the Stretch Tarot since that is a deck that I have used for several spirit readings in the past and it really lends itself to connecting with ancestors or loved ones.

I would love to do a reading for my brother, to help him find a way to deal with his disorder in a safe way.  However he is rather closed minded and thinks it's all phoney.  I don't do readings for people without their permission.

I'm not sure what deck I'd use though.  Possibly just a standard RWS or the Herbal Tarot.

If I were sure I believed in prediction, I would read for my daughter to reassure her that things WILL turn out OK. Sadly I am not convinced about the accuracy of prediction, and I fear things may not turn out OK anyway, so...

Pagan Cats, because she loves them too.

But then again... - this seems to me an impossible question to answer.

JFK, to tell him not to go to Dallas. Others warned him not to do that, though. He didn't listen.
MLK, to tell him not to go to Memphis. But it was inevitable, and he knew. "Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now, because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live – a long life; longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will."
And RFK. And Malcolm X. And others.

None of these men were saints. But they were all ruthlessly anti-corruption.

Imagine the world we'd be living in, had they not been shot down. Corruption is a fact of life now, "that's just the way it is". But it wasn't always like that. Idealism wasn't always outside the realm of possibility.

If I could read for even one of those guys and get him to listen, it would be better for all of us now. The deck doesn't matter.

Don't forget The Appointment in Samarra. It probably wouldn't have helped.

Yep. I suspect the whole 60's was The Appointment in Samarra. And here we are.

I would do a reading for Robert Jonson, using just the RWS deck and see if he really made a deal with the Devil at the crossroads. Then talk to him about his future plans.

That's been thoroughly explored. This should answer any questions you may have http://www.luckymojo.com/crossroads.html

From the link:

"The crossroads ritual is currently best known in popular American culture through the recent acceptance of a spurious legend that the famous 1930s blues singer Robert Johnson claimed that he had learned how to play guitar by selling his soul to the devil at the crossroads, somewhere in Mississippi. In truth, the blues singer who publicly made this claim was Robert's rather less-well-known contemporary and friend Tommy Johnson, not related to Robert. Tommy Johnson is remembered for his classic recording of "Maggie Campbell Blues." LeDell Johnson, Tommy Johnson's brother, spoke with the blues scholar David Evans about Tommy's sudden guitar playing skill and Tommy's claims about it. His account of the ritual is typical of others collected throughout the South. Note that LeDell did not say that Tommy Johnson called the crossroads spirit "the devil" and he did not mention selling his soul.

"If you want to learn how to make songs yourself, you take your guitar and you go to where the road crosses that way, where a crossroads is. Get there, be sure to get there just a little 'fore 12 that night so you know you'll be there. You have your guitar and be playing a piece there by yourself...A big black man will walk up there and take your guitar and he'll tune it. And then he'll play a piece and hand it back to you. That's the way I learned to play anything I want."

from "Tommy Johnson" by David Evans (London: Studio Vista, 1971). [Thanks to Debbie Sexton (Ginger5904@aol.com) for sourcing this material.]

Robert Johnson, shown here, did record a song called "Crossroads," but it is about hitch-hiking, not magic.

I would like to do a reading for Cleopatra and would more than likely use the RWS. It would be interesting to read / talk to her about what it was like to be a female leader in her time, and how having that kind of responsibility affected her on a personal level.

Perfect 🙂 You don’t have to explain yourself Joe, this is no debate area @katrinka 😉

I would like to do a reading for David Carradine.  Just to meet David Carradine would be incredible!

He was hot, he was cool, he was gorgeous, brilliant, funny, talented, sexy, mysterious, honest, and completely f*d up.  I'd use the Mary-el for the same reasons.

Here's a picture of the time David and I hung out in photo-edit land.  He is in the role of Kwai Chang Kaine and I am a real life college junior.  image.png.f344d7e512afc38a5b3544e2b97e0561.png

Yes, @Joe it's amazing the memories one can create with digital manipulation of photographs taken at different times and places!

Before Grandpa moved to assisted living he had a picture of himself and me on his nightstand.  I had the picture of David Carradine and me on mine.  Luckily, Grandpa has a sense of humor and Carradine is one of his heroes.

I know, @Raggydoll , that IS funny even if I do say so myself.  But you and I have always laughed at the same things, even when you were a little Raggydoll.

Is it really Cindy?  Is it really you?  You look good together!

(It's really Carradine and it's really me and we weren't really together but we both look good!)

It was simply beyond the point and the purpose of this thread. We are not meant to rationalize away someone’s answer here. Any answer is good 🙂

It was offered in an attempt to be helpful. But okay.
I'll keep to the less fantasy-themed threads.
