Hi, all!

As my deck collection has grown, I've started to think maybe my current tool for listing all the decks isn't really handy? I use the Google doc that's linked in my signature, and it's super easy to update, but formatting it is terrible — I always have to go in and completely rearrange the deck photos so they'll fit on pages, and then I still wind up with page gaps.

I have thought about making a page on my Tumblr where I can continuously update my decks, but I feel like it would be really cumbersome to update.  I definitely want a space to display photos, and hopefully somewhere that's not too obnoxious to update.  (FWIW I have an ancient website but IDK if there'd be much point to making a subdomain/installing wordpress or something just for this one thing, and I'm not going to hardcode it.)

Do you guys have thoughts on how / where / what format you use to display your tarot collections online?

You could change your signature to this:

Here are my decks!  That way the link does not sure.  I have a Wix site that I have listed my decks on this is how I display them.  Click here for the page.  Sadly my list needs to be updated!  btw, you have some amazing decks!! :stick_amok:

@Saturn Celeste  Hmm the signature may have been a holdover from the old forum format, but I also like warning people that it's a google doc before they click by showing them the full URL.  Yet another reason to consider another format, I guess!

I've definitely visited your lovely site before, I didn't realize it was a Wix site! It looks fabulous.  I was thinking I don't need a whole website because I don't really do paid readings (everything is just on my Tumblr), but this page is so nice, maybe I should reconsider.

(Oh, and thank you!!! 😄 )

Just for the sake of checking back in — I bit the bullet a week ago and decided to make a webpage specifically for displaying my decks. I slapped a wordpress theme onto a subdomain and now i have this: http://www.skepticaltarot.notquiteroyal.com

I also made a FAQ page and i'm not sure what else to do with it but for now, there's that, haha. 🙂 Thanks for the advice as always, @Saturn Celeste

I liked your pages, @bookshop and @Saturn Celeste 👍👍

I'm on a similar project, started a couple of weeks ago. But it is quite time-consuming, so it is still long before I'm finished.  And my design looks far from pretty yet 😅

I liked that the two of you have your own short comment on every deck. Maybe I'll steal that idea as an introduction on my front page too.

It's looking great, Kaino!!  I know how long it takes to get these decks listed!  Just keep at it as you get the spare time and before you know it, the page will be finished!

Thanks for your encouraging words, it's fun with some hobby projects 🙂

I will continue to register my decks. But yeah, registration and taking images take longer than one would think. I'll also get the presentation fixed; it doesn't look very nice yet. And it certainly shines through that I never will become a great designer. I improved the search/filtering function yesterday, but not deployed live yet. This function will be more useful the more decks I get registered.

@KaiNO how do you register the decks? are you registering them with some sort of association or catalog or is this just your way of organizing them?

I have a website with a database, where I have defined a table with the fields (name, price, type of deck, author, deck image, etc.) that I find interesting. Then, later, when I have the data, I can query these fields and present as I like.

that is a really neat idea!!! I feel like i don't have enough decks to warrant this but i can see how having a ready list of dates/prices/etc would be super handy from a collecting perspective haha
